Love the FL, her acting is amazing, the friendship is beautiful, the ML is kinda boring, fell too fast and perfect but it feels a little like a sugar- coated Good Doctor version. Everyone is so nice (albeit she had bad experiences too) that it feels a little too unrealistic for my taste (before anyone says smth, i interviewed people with severe autism for my thesis, usually the response they received from their surrounding weren't positive)

Edit: It's just my opinion please stay calm if you love it that's great, I just really loved Good Doctor to the point autism became my thesis and it reminded me of it. It's good and the FL is cute (the ML's kinda a letdown tho but it's only been a few eps)

the deceased authors husband produced this drama as a love message to show her that he's been in love with her ever since she started chasing him. He wanted to see his name alongside hers once again, added his own (Naoki's) perspective to it and helped in writing him more flawed and weaker since he was never the perfect guy his wife thought he was and Kotoko is more like how he viewed wife in this version. Bright, cheerful, smarter, beautiful because she's the best in his eyes. He never remarried or dated again 💔

Yeah, I'm aware, the ML was toxic due to what he's been through, here the FL is but the ML is ... bland and 0 flavor. I like expressionless MLs but maybe it's the actor there's nothing desirable or interesting. He's not even rude just.. there

Him going after her bc of is attraction is literally what 99% of human beings do when they like someone. I put "nice" in (), both these leads are just bland puppies. I don't find him not nice just bc he ain't expressive (which I do not mind, I like expressionsless ppl), there hasn't been anything that suggest he ain't.

This and Eve both suffer from the bland, puppy (nice) ML syndrome with the male being as interesting as a wet towel. Shit could've been so dramatic amd feeding me the next Secret or Innocent Man but nah.

This and WHY HER both have the same problem as many drama these days have, lack of chemistry, boring dynamic and bland puppy ML with no growth. This could've been my next Secret which is a toxic love done right and a masterpiece

Okay I'm liking it but this could've been Secret 2.0 if the Male Lead had more depth, what is with all these bland leads nowadays? Come on give me smth!!! And it bothers me how ppl on TT call her girlboss like let's be real she is just toxic and a redflag but it's understandable. Hope she'll get some growth and development

Yeah I feel it takes some rewatches to genuinely realise how much Naoki loved Kotoko. It's also funny how he confessed 2 but once she jumped to marriage and the other time she fell asleep

Rewatching as an adult ans man does it hit differently, I started understanding Naoki more and his subtle love which u might miss if you blink (like when he bought her chicken bc he heard she was all alone, told her about.his dream, saved her). Boy might be a genius that can solve every math problem but love, affections and his emotions? Error 404

As expected from the description she's rude or what ppl consider "girlboss" and the ML is bland af, hopefully there'll be great character growth for both (or more to the ML)

It's called a discussion and questioning your way of thinking. Don't post somewhere when you're scared of a response. All I did was suggesting you not to watch heavy drama and saying that I don't think she's "weak".

The ML was considered a genius and not everyone who graduates Harvard rightfully did that due to their skill as long as Daddy pays. I don't see the issue you have, I found her "strong" but I hate that word itself bc she's emotional, crying , "pathetic" over a guy she loves and needs his help, she isn't it?

You watched Secret? As if the FL wasn't pathetic too, that's why I enjoyed it.


Maybe I'm a diehard fan as if that's some criticism, despite no and just saying it might not be for you and to watch bland dramas instead but not play dum throwing a fit over a fictional drama, overreacting and acting as if it hurt my mom bc "she needed help for smth she knew". Love makes us pathetic what do you expect? I often pretend I need help just to let my BF do the work.

Good for you but all of you freak out when the ML is cold for a little. At this point it's not impressive or groundbreaking, gives the message that the rest are considered weak and not considered girlboss bc they ain't rude. Not all women/girls wannna fight and usually the FL has 0 character development that makes up for it. Loved it at first but it lost it's spark and the counterpart is always a bland ML with 0 personality bc they got watered-down. As I've said we've a lot of variety, calculative, manipulative, cunning, devious, humorous, feminine, cute, crybaby, freaky, stubborn, dense, naive etc- there's more to us that could be explored. The whole "strong FL" narrative is getting old and should stop alongside the label, it was never impressive from the get go.

As some explained it better we ended up in a circle with one dimensional "strong FLs" (where strong often ends up meaning we give female characters traits typically associated with male characters and call it a day)..
