Cdramas have always been better. They just didn't have the same exposure as the Kdramas and KPOP also played a…
Actually, k-dramas were popular internationally before k-pop. The Hallyu Wave began in the early 2000s (late 90s, for some regions), k-pop didn't go fully international (for various reasons) till the late 2000s/early 2010s.
No no she's not the villain in Empress ki but it's a brilliant from poor weak slave to queen in power story. She…
Was it good? I'm having trouble starting it... it seems so slow-paced to me. But I'm not used to watching business dramas either. The performances are great, though.
Climax is a political thriller/drama. Dear X was NOT that at all ðŸ˜
Really rude, then they went on to make a second comment saying "I don't respect other people's cultures". Get your mouth off my clit, how about that? (Sorry for the crudeness.)
Then don't watch it. We're not in the 2000s anymore, rom-coms with 1-dimensional FLs characters aren't a trend…
So one-dimensional FLs are a k-drama thing? K-dramas SHOULDN'T have fleshed out female characters, you admit? Even c-dramas, j-dramas, and anime have better written female characters from the 90s, and those certainly aren't Western, unless I missed something. Old American shows had 1-dimensional female characters, and that also changed.
There are also plenty of older k-dramas with non 1-dimensional FLs (villainous protagonists, grey/complex protagonists, strong ones, smart ones, etc...)
Solid daily so far. It's more like a slice-of-life drama, which I don't mind. Yes the characters are kinda basic, but it's an easy watch so far. Eun-Ae is painfully naive, but I'm wondering who her real parents are? And screw that scummy "boyfriend" of hers! I hope the grandfather survives, but I doubt it (especially with his terminal cancer.) This is pretty serious for a KBS1 daily lol
The acting is fine, but I worry that Uhm Hyun-Kyung is being typecasted...
YJH has almost never played goofy best friends lol (at least not in recent years...)
Yeah, he used to play supporting roles in the past, also, what does his appearance have to do with his performance? Weird thing to point out, but okay... 😂 Return, Penthouse, Shooting Stars, and Escape of the Seven all had him in lead roles. Penthouse and Return especially, which he won awards for (from my memory.)
I like Uhm Hyun-Kyung too but a lot of her roles feel similar nowadays. I hope she's not being typecasted, she's very talented. Mostly KBS1 daily dramas are romance-centered these days, but MBC's First Man has a lot of romance in it. So far I like Our Happy Days. Something easy to watch. It's not ridiculously goofy like most KBS1 dailies are, it's... balanced? Like a slice-of-life drama?
Lee Yo-Won was good in Golden Empire/Empire of Gold. She played the FL there.
