Nah, Hae-Ra is the FL Mi-Ran's daughter. Eun-Seol is the daughter of the Chung-Ma family, based on what I've seen and read.

Lol in any makjang drama there's gotta be an art gallery. Not all revenge dailies have art though, actually, 95% of them tend to have fashion or food! (ESPECIALLY fashion.) It's rare to see a drama that actually focuses on art.

Totally ruthless! I love it lol, Eun-Seol doesn't seem bright, hopefully she grows over time.

Great first episode so far. Very high-budget and the directing is really good. I also like the acting. Hae-Ra feels very basic as a character, but I'm very invested in Mi-Ran and her ambition. I like that the pacing was fairly fast too. No comic filler (except for Eun-Seol's family, who I could care less about.)

Oh, the opening intro! Yeah, I just saw it, that felt VERY rushed to me. I wonder why they made it so... fast? Weird choice in my opinion.

Edit: Okay, considering that the housing crisis happens and Lehman Brothers filed for bankruptcy (which did happen in real life!) Empire of Gold AFTER episode 17 is set in 2008. This is when the US housing crash happened (as Bush was leaving office.) WHY is the timeline so unclear 😭

It is a daily drama lol, I love the solo and group posters much better.

I recommend it, even if you aren't into them. The plot is intriguing and the acting is highly worth it! Hyun Bin won a Baeksang Award for his performance.
