I WISH this discussion thread and frankly every MDL page was just paragraphs and essays of people critically discussing the series, but a girlie can only dream and that's never going to happen.
Instead we just have a lot of "[insert actor] is so hot", which is like... the most redundant comment you can ever make, but OK. Do what you wanna do.
Just to give an example for those "you're just a hater/hate-watching :(" people, I'll articulate very clearly the reasons why I personally continue to watch Pit Babe despite its flaws;
- I am invested in the story and I want to see how it ends, but not because the story is good, makes any amount of sense, and keeps my attention. It's just because I'm familiar with the story, characters and world.
- Pavel is a competent actor, even if I dislike his character.
- The character Way is my absolute favorite and I'm attached to him. Nut also is the most compelling actor to me.
- I latched onto PeteWay and don't mind wading through the rest of the story to witness their romance arc—if they even get one.
- I'm in too deep and like finishing things. It's not a bad enough series for me to drop it, which means I'll genuinely want to see it through to the end.
- I come into every series hoping it'll be good, and as long as there are elements like the aforementioned reasons, I'll keep hoping my mind gets miraculously changed about a series by the last episode.
But none of it means I suddenly lose the right to express my thoughts in a DISCUSSION THREAD. You don't have to agree, you don't have to react, you don't even have to fucking read my critical opinions if you want to stay in your own bubble.
You can like what actor or plot thing or wack world building thing you like, and I can dislike those same things.
Is the concept of people having different opinions and interpretations really that hard for you to understand, or are you just overcompensating and being too defensive, fearing that your own opinions aren't valid because ours don't align with yours?
pooh cant act for shit the script is bad and babecharlie are a joke sue me ,, im only here for supanut literally the only reason this show is even remotely watchable
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF THE WAY APOLOGIST CLUBI. Way can do no wrong. Even if he's the villain. It's not his fault…
As the President of the Way Apologist Club, I hereby approve of these Ten Commandment. It is and always will be an honor to serve the Club to the greatest extend of my presidential abilities.
Any and all newly converted Way Apologists are welcomed with open arms. You have been enlightened and therefore I applaud you.
PeteWay'ers unite I'm over the PeteKenta propaganda grrrr 👹👹 Just wait till we get the—probably one (1) very underwhelming—PeteWay kiss I been waiting for since EP 1 and its all over for you guys 👹
I ain't even gonna lie I loved this EP. Fluke? Crazy. Tan? Crazy for smoking. Tee? Finally grew some balls, he's gotta protect his partner awhh. Me being a sucker really thought that was cute ahahaha
There were various details again I feel are pretty sloppy. How did the roads change so much between them being driven to the cabin by a car and now? Uncle managed to drive there just fine (technically—let's not talk about surviving the ride or not. That also brings me to what happened with that strung snare that decapitated him, did they remove it??? I can only assume.... )
How did Tan get back to the cabin so quickly? Why didn't we have a scene where we are shown Phee and Jin climb into that coffin? Feels like a missed opportunity to me.
And lastly... why's the killer so goofy? I loved when it got hit by a stick from Tee I laughed out loud. And then it climbed onto the bike and I lost it
It's pure comedy, really, the justifications of people.Way manipulated Babe and is bad. Charlie manipulated Babe,…
It's a literal clownfest here nowadays making me feel like a clown even commenting anymore.
"Awhh poor Kenta :'(( he may have sold tons of children under Tony's command and continues to be silent about it but he needs a break, guys! He's pitiful!! He clearly doesn't want to do all of that!"
My brothers and sisters and nonbinaries in Christ since when is Way a showroom car salesman? Has that ever been established before???? He looked hot asf of course but I had to do a double-take. (Edit; apparently it's been mentioned before but I fucking forgot)
Anyway. PeteWay snippet was disappointing, as expected. At least we did get to see some more of Pete. Man is proactive, that's for sure. In theory, I like NorthSonic but they don't add anything to the story and feel like filler characters. I knew these were too many characters from the start, and they prove my point alongside Dean. CharlieBabe scenes were out of touch as usual and didn't match the other scenes.
You know what is funny to me? Some of you guys feeling sooo bad for Kenta, when that man has sold tons of children into slavery disguised as adoption. Him just obeying Tony isn't an excuse. And I'm saying that despite also liking Kenta as a character, don't @ me yet. Some of y'all here are hypocrites with whom you choose to vehemently hate and love, I'm sure you catch my drift.
Because of that, I'd like to once again end my comment by proclaiming my support for all Way does. I support his evildoing, backstabbing, and manipulating. Frankly, I HOPE he fucks over Babe and Charlie big time cause I'll impossibly love him even more if he does. They deserve it for being so dumb.
I like Way's character, and sometimes it feels like I'm going through the Spanish inquisition every time I say…
Every time I think of Charlie I immediately remember how he and Babe met. Aka, the first episode. Aka, Charlie being a creepy ass stalker. That was my first impression of him and it hasn't entirely gone away. We were made clear right from the start that this man has hidden intentions (which I believe has been detrimental to the entire plot, they overcompensated big-time) yet Babe and everyone else, except like, you know, Way, didn't notice or found his presence too strange at all.
There's some cognitive dissonance between how some of us viewers like you and I view Charlie versus how the characters in the series view Charlie.
This is also why I 100% get why some people say they would've liked to see Babe/Way. Personally I don't cause I think Babe sucks absolute ass too, just a little less than Charlie, and Pete is a hot asf sugar daddy, so.......... But it definitively shows that there's something not clicking Charlie/Babe chemistry wise to a portion of viewers.
When it comes to Way, the writers indeed applied a large portion of reliable writing rules to him. We're shown how he's like with Babe, someone he's loved, we've seen how Babe unintentionally hurts him by things he says and does, and so we understand why Way has the flaws he has. Whether we agree with him or not, the writers made him relatable and, to me, lovable.
Meanwhile Babe and Charlie are more or less perfect, even if they make "mistakes" (that aren't really mistakes). The writers tried to fool viewers into thinking they're not flawless, while in reality, they very much are.
P.S. Don't apologize for long comments, I write those myself every other comment! Just like this one lmfao. It's in and of itself proof that we're not some random ass hater of Charlie/Babe who doesn't even like Pit Babe, as some people who shan't be mentioned in this thread like to believe. Long comments are far more valuable than any "omg Pavel is so hot" one-liner, which make up 1/3 of all comments in here.
The thing that gets me is that people assume that in order to enjoy the character, you must have already been…
Yeah, I use the word "apologist" ironically, and can only hope people aren't dumb enough to actually think that I don't recognize a character flaw. The thing is that I love the character, Way in this case, because of AND despite his flaws, and because of AND despite how morally grey he may be.
Also I've personally not seen a single one of these actors in any media outside of Pit Babe, and still haven't to this day.
And I think you've hit the nail on its head with our main leads just being so fucking unrelatable. I don't get Charlie, I usually don't get Babe, because there are no relatable stakes. Because oh wow, surprise guys, characters have superpowers (that aren't explained in a worldbuilding way, i.e. are they born with powers? How does it literally even work?) Oh, surprise, Charlie has powers too! Surprise guys... Babe just had a tragic accident but he's actually A-okay and can race after a while of rest.
I've said it before and I'll say it again but the plot of Pit Babe is giving Mary Sue + Plot Armor. Nothing is gonna happen to 'em, and I say that even though last episode and even earlier things DID happen to Babe, it's just so easily brushed over it doesn't feel real. These screenwriters cannot write emotional impacts and the consequences of actions.
I also have one or two "unforgivable fictional crimes" a character can do that will make me unable to root for them, but since this series ISN'T THE NOVEL, I have nothing else to say on this matter.
I'll be out here defending Way until the cows come home, or at least until the show stops writing him as the only…
Honestly it's baffling to me how they've managed to write the protagonists like they're cardboard cut-outs instead of multilayered. Mostly speaking of Charlie but I'm not entirely happy with Babe either.
I definitely believe in "less is more" and Pit Babe is the antithesis of that saying.
On a Way note I love him so much I'm literally gonna write (Pete/)Way fanfiction after all of the show has aired to spread the Way gospel even further.

any more of it and I'll start gatekeeping alongside the Way Apologist Club the fact we loved Way before it was popular smh (this is a joke)
