Well said. Also the Kdrama Tomorrow also included this subject, yet some people here in the comments just think…
If this is the truth, then it's a sad reality we live in because the bullies made it about themselves and continue to be horrible people while the true victims are still out there, maybe suffering.

Me believing the "victims" is fine because it's the right stance at first till more evidence gathers. If not, people are always going to question whoever comes forward with accusations like that. Situations like this one now, only cause more damage to people who want to talk. It's awful.

you know what korea took from tomorow? that bridge fences need to be bigger to make hard for people to jump off…
They are treating the symptom, not the cause. They don't wanna see what really happens in society, because these teens have parents and don't want to deal with that. Sad reality all over the world. Taking accountability for your parenting/teaching.

What should be the consequences for something she did when she was a teenager? Never work again? Be punished for…
I don't know. We are all speculating here for both sides. Maybe it's my bias, but I don't think bullies change. And I am not talking about the kid who is shoving you on the wall or sometimes throws you things during class; I'm talking about the kid who makes you not want to go to school every morning, hate yourself and makes you depressed. These people rarely change, as adults they are better at hiding it due to social cues.

Bystanders, is a weird case in teens. It could be due to fear or indifference. So, whatever the case, I only hope for the victims to be safe.

There is no weird timing in cases like this. Some victims decide to talk now because these people are famous. What's so wrong about this? If these adults could inflict pain when they were teens, what gives them a free pass as an adult when the victims decide to talk? As an adult they have to be able and face their past, if they did something like that.

As a fellow victim of school violence, I'm very glad to hear you are in a better place now and your words are really positive and comforting.

It's a good mindset to have but for better or worse, it depends on the person. As I agree and support you, I'm the same with someone who was a victim and seeks blood. Neither of you are better than the other; peace of the mind comes in different ways to different people.

Society in general expects a light punishment of the bully, for them to change because they are still teens and for the victim to heal, forgive and move forward. But the story doesn't always like this and it's fine too.

It's a sensitive and a serious topic, hence the big discussion here. Whatever the end result is, I just hope that the victims heal.

People act like she did the bullying yesterday, this was like 19/20 years ago? She probably has grown and evolved…
It doesn't matter how many years passed. The victims of bullying cases can still suffer. Psychology says that early childhood/teen experiences shape our developing part of the brain, especially the emotional part. So, these people may have severe anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder etc.

If she changed and she is a better person now, in case she did the bullying, she will be brave enough to face the victims and their feelings.

Regardless of her case, bullies rarely, if ever, change. They even follow professions that give them power over people, eg. nurse, policeman etc. So, let's be grounded on reality. Some kids out there are sadists and psychopaths/sociopaths.

Fans are going to be fans. Up to them what position they take. Each to their own but of course I'm also concerned with some comments here. Your past is the present of some people. People who are suffering from your evil actions you did as a teenager. Even in my country we had some really bad cases of bullying and people were asking for more severe punishments for teens because after a while it's a crime.

Anyways, I hope whatever the result that whoever is involved finds justice and some peace of mind.

Depends on the severity of her actions. If these are too much, police could be involved. If they are less severe, she could start therapy and become a better person, pay for her victims therapy or something equivalent. If the victims only want an apology, so be it. Also, she could drop from any upcoming projects for a while too.

She is an adult, she has a past. Sometimes, the past can come to bite you. In this case, what should the victims do? Remain silent while she becomes famous and loved now while before she caused suffering? Or continue therapy for the rest of their lives? Or pretend like nothing happened, "they were just teenagers"? She can work on herself now, if she really did something back then. We should all do as we grow up.

Some of y'all here learned nothing from "The Glory" and it shows.
If she is innocent, she has nothing to hide and will be able to face any accusations with a clear mind.
If she is guilty, she better prepare for the consequences of her actions.
And If this is a false accusation, the "victim" will have to face the consequences.

10, 20, 30 years... it doesn't matter how long it takes for the victims to talk, it's their right to when they feel safe and comfortable. And yes, I am with the victims when they talk about famous people in the height of their career. Why do you worry so much about someone's career and fame than if they have made someone suffer so much, that they still struggle to live even now? Be more compassionate with someone who is suffering and don't make bullying a trivial matter because years passed. We all have a past; let's try to make our future a bit better.

I am half japanese and half korean. I live in Japan now and its always kind of awkward when koreans keep making…
Politics and arts will always be interchangeable. You can't separate one from the other. As the user above said, through art people can learn from history and not repeat the past mistakes. The fact that young people from both countries are on better terms now than their grandparents generations is a step towards to something better but history can not be erased. It's good films/series are being made about colonial Japan in other Asian countries: it's a true event of their history and through that, they can explore different story settings. It's not propaganda against Japan, although some nationalists will definitely see it that way.

Also, do you know that Japan is waiting for the old generation of SKs and other Asian countries to die, so none alive will remember their crimes? Crimes like comfort women which is something Japan doesn't accept. So, when these old people die, it's important for all these countries to remember and be aware of their history. Japan, as far as I know, still doesn't accept the crimes they committed which is a huge disrespect to the nations they committed atrocities. At least Germany here is still actively trying to hold onto their wrongdoings and become better (can't same the same about other European countries who colonized and tortured other African-Asian countries).

Anyways, the whole point is that films/series about certain time periods should still be made. Times have changed but a nation should know their history, so they can move forward.

I'm prepared to get roasted because a lot of MDL commenters have very strong views regards affairs. Anyway, I…
Haven't watched the drama yet (waiting for episode 2 to air) but in regards to adultery:

My mom pretty much said the same thing. And while I do understand this and I accept it, since humans are flawed and not very wise, one thing will always cause me pain: If you are in a relationship and can't seem to be doing well/don't have good communication, it's better to break up. I get that people don't want to sometimes and opt to cheat for a number of reasons, but I don't care. The hurt and possible trauma you could cause someone because you are weak and flawed is no excuse.

I can excuse cheating in cases of abuse or if the person cheating doesn't have the financial power to move/win a custody case. But aside from such cases, it's a very bad thing to do. I accept it as human nature but we are more than our instincts and feelings. We can be rational creatures and stay true to ourselves. Move yourself from a relationship that doesn't fullfil you as a person. Cheating will only cause harm.

And while I do get that asking the adulter "why" is important, I think is more important to listen to the victim. Most times people cheat because they can and want to, selfish reasons. None should be subjected to this because someone wants to boost their sick ego.

About the shop assistant:
I rewatched episode 1 and the girl's name they are bullying after Dong Eun dropped from school is Gyeong Ran (we can hear I Sara call her that in the scene before Dong Eun enters the gym). Guess who has the same name in the staff credits.

Because Yeo Jin is the mastermind and the core of the whole bullying issue. If it wasn't for her, the others would never take part. Take her out of the equation and there is no bullying. Maybe the boys would get into some fights with other boys, I Sara might act like a spoiled, rich kid and Hye Jeong could gossip with other girls. Yeo Jin is the one who made this bullying team and as she is the richest and most powerful, she can get away with anything.

Yeah, Hye Jeong and Myeong Oh are the low class bullies aka they follow orders by the rich ones. Both Yeo Jin and Jae Joon have warned them to not get ahead of themselves. Yeo Jin even told Hey Jeong that if it wasn't for Dong Eun, she would have been their victim instead.

I think PR is hyping it up too much, and you are expecting too much. From what I understood its not allowed in…
One of the reasons the production went with Netflix, is because many of the scenes the drama has are not allowed in Korea TV, they would have been heavily sensored.

My country is very Orthodox Christian but the violent/revenge shows rarely go with "forgiveness". I think this might be an issue with the culture rather than religion, but I could be wrong.

Also, dunno if you saw the new previews that dropped today but in one of them Dong Eun tells Yeo Jin that if she tries to kill her, she will do so first but if she goes to the police, turn herself in and ask for forgiveness, she and the other victims (guess the shop assistant is one of them or there are more), will forgive her. But Yeo Jin replies that she won't do anything like that because she never did anything to them and forgiveness is something poor people believe in.

So, while I also believe it's better to have low expectations, it's not bad to have some tiny hope in the production team.

I think those people have not watched a lot of kdramas before lol they are so easily amused.
So, just because we like a drama some of you find boring, it means we have not watched enough to pass the verification of "Kdrama fan", hence be able to tell the good dramas apart from the bad ones? Grow up and let people enjoy what they want.
