I completely forgot about the roots... It's been episodes since I last noticed them, wow me

Idk about others, but having been in a FWB situation that's exactly what happened to me when I started catching feelings: from being fine and cool with sexy time, to a flustered teenager because of a kiss on the cheek . It depends on the person but usually when one of the two catches feelings, or both, you get the nervousness of having a crush (and that's why no more FWB for me LMAO)

I didn't have the time to write something when the series started, so I shall do now since I am very free with no obligations lol

I am really enjoying this. I didn't have any expectations before it started, because it's better to have no standards rather than be disappointed. Although, I can understand why some fans don't like it anymore, find it boring, slow, wasted screentime on other couples, main pairing could have better writing etc. All opinions are welcomed, even the ones I don't agree with, as long as we are civil and we are not rude to each other or even the staff.

I like Winteam and I am glad we get to see more of them. For the rest of the couples, I don't really have a concrete opinion: sometimes I like their scenes, other times I forward them. You can't satisfy every fan out there. But I do agree that maybe 8 episodes or less would have been better for the series, focusing mainly on Winteam coming to terms with their feelings and some extra scenes of the other couples.

Anyways, it's a pretty good series for me even if I usually watch 2-3 episodes together (maybe this helps more than 1 episode/week). I do feel sad when I read some mean comments here but I can't do anything about them, it is what it is. For the last episode I cried my eyes out for Team, Idk why but I got sad :(

He got into a fight with someone, probably because of the easy sentence his father's murderer got. The nurse and other doctor talk about it in the same scene; how the killer is always on the news after the hearing.
Edit: Or because the sentence was heavy but people might have argued that "he only killed one person, he doesn't deserve it" and Yeo Jung decided to box them

Two reasons:
1. Chemistry between them and 2. Sexy, arrogant businessman x poor, beautiful woman, is one of the most popular relationship tropes.

Fans believe that because he is attracted to Dong Eun who is the opposite of Yeo Jin, he is not "that" bad about image, control and arrogance. Or even if he is, she is clearly different enough to change that a bit. Tbh, I think a romantic relationship between them wouldn't work; maybe hook ups to release some tension from the Go games, but that's about it. They come from different worlds and hence their basis of how they see said world and the difference in power, will not allow for a romantic relationship. But that's my opinion. Fans will probably disagree. They like the potential the ship has and to fantasize what could happen in S2.

Yes. Most teachers don't get involved because: angry parents from both sides, the bully usually has important parents, bad name for the school if word gets out, school inspection, they don't care. I was bullied in the past and none of my teachers gave a fuck. There are some recent horror stories of bullying in my country lately (recording gang r*pe, breaking fingers & setting fire), the situation is out of control and I'm from South Europe. Bullying is severe everywhere, not just East Asia.

A school is a mini society. Children reflect their parents and under law they are protected. I'm of the opinion that crimes committed even by a 6 year old should be punishable. But lots of people disagree. It's a hot topic that governments don't want to think about if they can avoid it.

Just classic rich, entitled and snobby wife of a conglomerate man. Her money can buy anything. She wasn't having it that the club was so exclusive that you need 4 other members to recommend you lmao

If my memory serves me right, Lee Do Hyun said in the Glory press conference that the scene when Dong Eun told him about her past and why she's seeking revenge, the lines "you are a better person than them, Dong Eun" and "once you get your revenge, your life will will be ruined" was the first and last time Yeo Jung gave her this kind of advice. He is all in after that.

Now, I wonder... Therapy obviously didn't work (I'm no psychologist but as a patient, to have only one session per month after such a traumatic event in your life, means that he had more in the past and as he got better, the sessions got less), so, did he tell his therapist about the letters from the murderer of his father? Because if he didn't, oh well... I'm probably overanalyzing here but while wanting to kill the person who murdered your family is normal and even doing it, although rarely happens, also normal (in some ways), the fact that he is willing to kill complete strangers because of Dong Eun, yeah that's not healthy. When he told his therapist that he stops because she wasn't able to fix him, his tone and her reaction, phew...

After that scene with Dong Eun, he fully embraced his dark side. I'm sure he kept telling himself for years to not seek revenge and that he is a good person, he should move forward and live a normal life. But seeing Dong Eun like that, just snapped him out of it. Although, he had that knife collection ready in any case lmao

And yes, I like their chill moments together. Dong Eun let him inside her house full of photos while she is free to come and go in his house, anytime she wants. The curious thing: she has come clean and told him everything about her past and revenge plan. But he is not willing to talk about his trauma yet.

If she wrote romance, I really hope it turns out good in this case (I don't trust her but she has surprised me with this series). Although this is also a matter of "criminal punishment if God is on your side, divine punishment if God is on my side" (or whatever the translation was). She is not referring only to herself here but to Yeo Jung as well, as he will be the one to bloody his hands (interesting that when this line is delivered in the trailer, the "divine punishment" shows Yeo Jung).

It is one season. Netflix decided to cut it in two parts because "viewership and money". MDL should change it to Part 1 and Part 2, rather than seasons. Of course I understand what you mean but they gave the money, they can do whatever they want for better or worse.

Yeah, I'm the same lol I gravitate towards characters/pairings like him. I'm not really familiar with KES besides two series (Goblin, was OK and Mr. Sunshine, dropped it) but she has done something different here and so far is good! Let's see how her romantic nature will handle them because you need to be careful with dark romance; it can either turn out as a caricature or brilliant.

"He is the epitome of nice guy who thinks he should get girl just bcz he is nice to her" respectfully, I disagree. If that were the case, he would be mad that Dong Eun rejected him and swear at her. But he did not react like that. He even takes head on the criticism she has for his life so far: a perfect life with barely any hardships like she had. Of course she is partly-wrong, because she doesn't know what happened to him when they met but he doesn't talk back or tries to correct her. So far, he has listened to her, never asked more questions when Dong Eun answered vaguely, taught her Go when he didn't expect anything in return (just her company), didn't questioned why she never replied to his text throughout the years and of course supports her revenge even going as far as becoming her headsman.

Sure, I get the criticism of the character and why fans don't feel the pairing. But he is not bad towards Dong Eun. He has his own demons to deal with and has been nothing but kind to her. Personally, I like his obsession with the Dong Eun because it hints towards his dark side. Obsession/fixation like this is not healthy, so I'm curious how KES will handle it (reminds me of Hannibal but that's another topic).

If you are referring to the Netflix panel, the way I interpreted what she said is that because she is mainly a romance writer, she would have them kiss each other early on but since this is a different genre with a heavy social topic, of course this wouldn't be allowed or make sense so early on. She still called them a couple, whatever that means to her lol It's obvious from her comments during the panel that she focused a lot, almost entirely, to tell Dong Eun's story rather than romance. Although I'm curious if she has the guts and talent to make a murderous pairing.
Edit: Unless I'm wrong ,the director doesn't have such big power as to entirely erase part of the script. If KES wrote romance, he will have to direct it. Now, how he chooses to show the romance, that's his job yeah

- Kim Eun Sook said that she cried when she saw the scene when adult Dong Eun was clapping and cheering for Yeo Jin and later on, declared her war to them
- The first scene between adults Moon Dong Eun and Park Yeo Jin is the one in the classroom. Ahn Gil Ho choose that one for no particular reason. He knew it would an awkward scene for both to film, so he used that feeling and it came out pretty good
- KES asked Song Hye Kyo how she would deliver the scene where she shows her injuries to Yeo Jung. Song Hye Kyo replied to give her two months; in that time-frame she lost enough weight so Moon Dong Eun would look small and malnourished
- KES said, that the first scene she created on her mind with Dong Eun and Yeo Jung is the one at the park during the night, when Yeo Jung gets rejected by Dong Eun and we have the "I don't need a prince, I need an executor" line. That's the basis of their character
- KES wanted to finish episode 4 with a kiss between Dong Eun and Yeo Jung, but the director stopped her lmao. Thanks to that she thinks that she ended up with the coolest couple she has ever written
- Lee Do Hyun, was asking Ahn Gil Ho if they are really filming the series because his early scenes were sweet and romantic-like with Song Hye Kyo, but the other actors were filming stuff that included cursing, beating, blood, extra-marital affairs etc. He said that he felt like he was filming a romance drama by himself and kept asking the director if this is really the direction they should take. Ahn Gil Ho replied with "it's nice to make it look pretty and lovely, but that he wanted to look kind of pitiful. He wanted people to feel sorry for these two"
-Ahn Gil Ho wants Jung Sung Il to become Korea's Tony Leung and he was impressed with his acting. Kim Eun Sook screamed when she saw the scene of Dong Eun and Do Young playing Go, she loved it
- Do Young was created to reflect the viewer's pov as a neutral party. KES said that when she wrote his final scene, she came to realize what kind of person he is
- KES choose the color green for the shoes because she thought that Yeo Jin would look good on them. She knew about the genetic colorblindness of red-green, so she thought that since red high-heels are so common, she went for green
- Both Kim Eun Sook and Song Hye Kyo wanted to work with Yeom Hye Ran. Kim Eun Sook created Kang Hyun Nam based of the actress and Song Hye Kyo is a big fan
- They said that the finale will be satisfying and to be excited how all the relationships become bigger with time, like a snowball

Yeah, I agree with that. Tbh, I am willing to let it slide because I enjoyed the series too and I have seen worse Deus Ex Machina plots before, so while it made me go ??? I didn't care much.

They can't help it lol Most kdramas out there and generally, the majority of dramas, have a FL that has been wronged but rarely uses violence to prove her right. And, it's not easy to write a good MC antiheroe. Unless, you are a good writer, it can turn the audience against them since it's a double-edge sword. Most people just enjoy the misery and sadness of the MCs that can turn the tables without blood, because it's easier to relate and shows how a "better" person they are. Dunno how it will go with Dong Eun, because while she wants to kill them, it doesn't seem like she is willing to put blood on her hands directly. Only that she is fine with the child having resentment for her when she brings the downfall of Yeo Jin.

I totally get your pov. I also don't trust him and I have a feeling that he will mess up both women. Control and reputation are definitely super important to him, judging by his character and job position. I'm sure he will fight to the end in order to keep his daughter, even if he is not biologically related to her.

No worries :) as I said, I totally get the criticism and concerns. It's nice to read the comments here because we might see smth new or read a scene in another perspective. All comments are welcome as long as we remain polite. Crossing fingers about the second part!

It's because he is most likely going to have an important role in the second half. Or I hope so, and they didn't cast him just to appeal to his fans lmao

Anyways, I understand why fans say that they feel like his storyline so far was detached from the main plot but he is an important character for Dong Eun: to open up, trust and have a partner in crime. See how Dong Eun doesn't wanna be too close to Hyun Nam and gets nervous when she catches herself enjoying their company (although I think part of this is because she has a daughter and they still have to kill her husband), but is more easy for her to do so with Yeo Jung: laugh, show her scars, ask him questions about his life etc. It just takes sometime to do all that, and sometimes people with scars attract each other on subconscious level.

I mean, fans want Do Young/Dong Eun to happen because of the chemistry between them rather than Yeo Jung/Dong Eun, even if the hints so far point towards them.

As for the bullies, dunno if any of them will be alive or have a happy life at the end. Maybe only Do Young will get custody of his daughter and they leave everything behind them.
