Title Fights Break Sphere Spoiler
You may want to continue with Doulou Continent - very similar genre. i'm only at episode 3 of this drama and between…
No the ring that contains his friend and Shifu, Yao Lao (Baron Chen) was taken by Yao Lao's eldest disciple, now Academy Elder, Han Feng. That guy needs to die, and I imagine that would be on Xiao Yan's short list of things to do as soon as he woke up. He's got to get his friend back.

Oh, one other thing... Remember how he kept trying to get Gu Xun'er to take the ring and protect it if something happened to him? But, she wouldn't believe him or listen when he tried to tell her what it was and why it was so important. No way, she was after the ring. What she wanted was his key to the Fight King's tomb. Any clan that can get all of the keys and open the tomb can rule the world. That was always her mission, even as a small child when her father left her behind to live with the Xiao family.

But, I'm sure that she loved him. She gave him her life pearl. It doesn't get more serious than that.

hi.. I wanna ask so the ending is like an open ending?
Yes, but it is positive. More adventures to come, if anyone bothers to make season 2.

I don't know! She didn't take the ring. She took his family's token or tomb key. Is there somewhere we can read the novel with English subs to find out?

The way it is portrayed in the drama, I think she really loves him. It's just that she has a special heritage. He looked to be dead and she was always supposed to protect the five keys to the tomb, and try to get them for her own clan. I don't think she would have done it if she didn't think he was going to die (and he did die for a moment there). She didn't know he was going to revive. Who knows where it will go from there. They might become enemies or reconcile and become lovers. I think he is supposed to have multiple wives in the book.

Title Miss the Dragon Spoiler
Some actors seem to get the same part over and over! This is the second drama I have watched that has Zhu Zan Jin playing a good guy that turns out to actually be the main bad guy (The Untamed & Miss The Dragon). I'm going to have a hard time keeping that out of my head if he shows up in another drama I'm watching.

But then, after watching Zhu Xu Dan play Xian Nu in Eternal Love, I indeed could not get her previous performance out of my head at first. But, here in Miss The Dragon, by the time she gets to her second lifetime, she doesn't even look like Xuan Nu to me anymore. By her third lifetime, I almost wondered if it was the same actress at times. So, I guess there's hope for Zhu Zan Jin, too.

Title The Untamed Spoiler
It’s more of an ambiguous open ending. I very much interpreted it as a happy ending. Apparently the scenes are…
A lot of people interpret the separations in the last 15 minutes of the show as a breakup or that they are waffling, somehow not truly together. However, it's not really ambiguous if you think about it. They can't show them married and glued at the hip (like the book does) or we'd never get to see the show - it wouldn't get past the censors. Instead, they show them together and then they show (or rather discuss) Lan Zhan in his new role as "His Excellency", the leader of all the clans. Next, we see Lan Zhan escorting Wei Ying as he is leaving to go on one of his walk abouts (after all, he is descended from wanderers). Then, at the last moment, they show Wei Ying standing on top of a hill and he is met by Lan Zhan. Last shot is Wei Ying's gorgeous smile. So this is definitely a happy ending. They are together and happy. This is their life (Well, their life outside the bedroom, that is! Read the book if you want the lovey dovey stuff!).

On Legend of Fei Jul 21, 2022
Who wrote this synopsis? I know that the drama is based on Priest's novel Bandits (有匪), but the 48 Strongholds are not represented as bandits in the Legend of Fei. The collective of sects that make up the 48 Strongholds are given a lot of respect and a high place of honor in the Jianghu world of Legend of Fei. They are protectors of the common folk. You don't see them out robbing people in the show. They do kill a lot of bad guys though. Typical wuxia drama.

I dunno. Is the book different?

so the show follows the novels plot line without changing anything?
That would be impossible. I understand the book is about 2000 chapters long, with a ton of characters. Game of Thrones was like that, with lots of sidebar characters that are not central to the main story line. I have read that SSS keeps true to the main story line, but a lot of stuff has been condensed. The story arcs are rewritten to keep the gist of the book without going on for hundreds of episodes.

I really enjoyed this series and am looking forward for the next two seasons (it's a trilogy). Didn't read the book, however. So can't tell you exactly how it changed. I just know I love it! Have seen it at least three times already, wishing they had all three seasons done.

I loved Joy of Life too. Went back and read the JOL book after seeing the first season. Due to the length of the book, it was the same situation as SSS, and made by the same people. Same ML too. They did a great job of staying faithful to the spirit of the book in Joy of Life. I think I would be just as satisfied if I read SSS book and compared it to the drama version.

Am at episode 1 of this and I need a spoiler regarding the ML's relationship with his little brother... Will there…
There are problems but not between the brothers. The brothers are tight - loving and supporting each other in every way.

I don't understand the purpose of 20 five minute episodes. Why not just make it a movie?

I've seen Doulou Continent twice already, and I'm sure I will see again eventually.

Personally, I'm pretty attached to Fights Break Sphere. Just wish had made season 2. If they make it now, I don't think it will be a satisfying sequel unless they can miraculously get a major portion of the actors, director, story writer and other together. But, one can hope right? :)

I hope you enjoy the drama!

Does this have a lot of romance? I don't like too much romance.
Almost all adventure and not much romance. However, the ML has lots of women in love with him (including me! lol). He's got too much to do though. Not ready to settle down for a long time.

Yes, lots of room for interpretation. However, the ending isn't exactly sad. None of the leads died and season 1 ends with a perfect setup for season 2.

It's a cliffhanger where the ML is presumed to be dead, except he isn't. It ends at a natural transition point in the story, and perfectly set up for season 2. Unfortunately, we're still waiting for season 2. I'm starting to lose hope. :'(

FL is fine and I'm sure they will have many more adventures together, assuming the second season gets made.

This is one of my favorites!

Just finished watching for the umpteenth time and can only lament that they never made season 2. It's been so long now that even if they do make it there won't be any continuity with season 1. So sad. :'(

Just to be clear. The ending is at a natural transition point and wraps up the first part of the story nicely. But there is so many more adventures to be shown. This series could easily sustain another 20 - 50 episodes, depending on how they spin the storyline. In season 1 there's something exciting going on in every episode so far and it wouldn't be hard to keep that going all the way to the end of season 2, if they did it right.

Ok, just a tip for those watching on YouTube with English subs. In episode 28, the 9th lord is known as a philanthropist, not a philanderer. Just thought you should know! { facepalm }

Why the main actors are too old..lu Xue Qi is played by 38 years old woman..seriously?!!They should let Li Qin…
I don't think the actors are too old, considering the number of years that pass in the story. By the time we get to season 3, the characters are no longer teenagers.

I agree, considering how difficult it is to condense such a big book to the screen, it makes better sense to pair Li Xueqi with Zhang Xiaofan right up front and downplay Bi Yao.

Also, you can never trust that they will come back and finish the story. Are we for sure going to get Jade Dynasty 2, 3, 4 and more? Still sitting her waiting for season 3 of Noble Aspirations, too. We could wait forever. I feel ripped off! :(

On Noble Aspirations Season 3 Jun 4, 2022
The original book is HUGE!!! The first two seasons (70+ eps) barely put a dent in the story. It would take another 80 eps to cover the rest of it. In the book, the bulk of the story was not really about Bi Yao and Zhang Xiaofan, but more about Zhang Xiaofan and everyone/everything else, especially his relationship with Lu Xueqi, who eventually is his life partner/wife.
I'm hoping that they still make Season 3 (and 4?). I think they can take the focus away from Bi Yao enough that his relationship with Li Xueqi makes perfect sense. It already does for me, since I've read most of the book, including the ending.

Also, I was watching carefully and it was always apparent in the first two seasons that Zhang Xiaofan cared for Li Xueqi. At one point he was even intrigued by the notion of marrying Xiao Huan! He didn't know his own heart yet. After all, he was just a teenager.

He definitely wasn't portrayed as madly in love with Bi Yao. They never kissed even once in the drama. At most it was her persistence with the relationship and his loyalty to her that caused the outcome. Add guilt, the rejection of his sect and his own stubbornness to the mix and you find him spending years wandering the world looking to revive her.

Given a few episodes of soul searching about the reality of things, I think most audiences would give him a pass if he moved on with his life. I mean, as a cultivator, is he really supposed to keep on with his quest to revive a dead girl for the rest of his life? He could live more than a thousand years alone! Even Bi Yao wouldn't want to see that happen!

Meanwhile, he and Li Xueqi have a long way to go before the story ends, and many adventures together along the way. Most audiences would be pissed if nothing came of their relationship. They just don't know it yet! I hope the rest of the story gets made and that audiences give it a chance. No regrets!
