So in your dictionary, "hating" equals Not liking her voice, or wanting a female lead to act her age and not like…
I don't read any reviews, though. Comments are another thing. We watch these dramas and come here to participate in discussions just to encounter the same old 3-5 complaints about FLs being annoying, too childish, too naive, too whatever.
Seriously, go to any MDL page of a costume drama and you won't have to search long to find them. It's literally impossible to avoid them if you want to participate in the C-drama fandom.
But it's possible to avoid dramas with FLs you don't like (trailers are quite informative, even if you only watch the first minute of them!). It's also possible to refrain from annoying other people by constantly posting the same couple of one-line variations of "the FL annoys me" or "the FL is useless and childish" or "I hate her voice" on every MDL page of a xianxia or rom-com drama. But you don't sound like someone who does that, anyway.
At any rate, I don't think the original poster of this comment thread was advocating for censorship or anything. We can all say what we want to say on this website and in the end, I guess, we just have to agree to disagree with each other 🤷♀️😁

In all honesty, it does get quite annoying to always see the exact same complaints about almost every FL from any xianxia or rom-com drama. It's always some variation of the following: "She's so annoying", "I hate her cute voice", or "I dislike childish and naive FLs".
Some people are so tired of encountering this repetitive negativity that they just wanted to air their grievances for once.
It's okay that some watchers hate childish, naive and ditsy FLs. That's not the problem here. Everybody has different tastes and standards, after all.
But that's exactly why it's so baffling that they keep choosing/watching dramas with this type of FL and then they go on MDL just to make the same complaints they always make about childish female characters. Like, why? One look at the trailer and they'd know if they'd like the FL or not.
Ive seen a lot of people say that Wang Hedi doesn’t suit wearing hanfu, I honestly disagree so much, he looks…
I think it's because his styling in other historical/fantasy dramas wasn't the best. For example in Miss the Dragon, he looked like he took a bath in flour, lol. But in this drama, he looks amazing.
people not being able to notice her character is purposely cute and naive despite the silly background music and…
I also hope they drop the drama and stop making the same repetitive comments about this actress's voice and her role. It's not as if the script writers and actors will come here, see their "constructive" criticism and stop writing cute female leads.
If they hate cute voices and this type of heroine (which is pretty much the norm in any xianxia story!), they could've easily avoided this drama since the first few seconds of the trailers show exactly what type of female lead you can expect here 🤷♀️
I don't think so. In the trailer, you can see a story arc where the FL switches bodies with the ML. She gets a deeper voice and her demeanour changes from cute to serious. If you still find her annoying during that, I guess this drama is just not your cup of tea.
Gong Zi is a very interesting and attractive character full of contrasts but it's a mystery to me why some people ship him with the female lead after what he has done in a certain episode and even scold her for not liking him back. It makes perfect sense that she doesn't see him as relationship material, even if Chang An wasn't in her life.
In the last couple years, I can tell Cdramas are trying to copy HBO shows like Game of Thrones and Westworld in…
I think depending on which one you started watching first, you'll either think American shows are taking inspiration from C-dramas or the other way round 🤔😂
We need more positive vibes in this comment section. Just at least, stop commenting unrelated things that might…
Thank you. I'm quite confused by all the negative comments here 😅 What is everyone even talking about? People post links to gossip and controversial (?) articles in Chinese and discuss them when this is a mostly English-speaking platform meant for international fans.
What's the point of taking the negativity outside of the Chinese internet? I really don't get it. Let's just wait for official news and look at pretty teaser pictures.
I hope that the female lead's character is quite a bit improved compared to her novel version. In the novel, she…
Based on the trailers, I think she will be exactly the way you described her. I personally don't mind this kind of female lead as long as her personality makes sense in the plot (e.g. a 16-year-old girl with a sheltered upbringing), but a lot of C-drama fans hate them with a passion 🤣 I just hope when the viewers criticize her, they will only criticize the character and not start hating on the actress which I've seen some people do on other dramas.
Society is more strict in China.Especially if the main actors are married, it is considered a little inappropriate…
I think it's more complicated than that but I can't come up with other explanations either.
Think about it: the directors, script writers and actors all know about censorship and what kind of content is allowed to be shown on TV and what is forbidden or will most likely be censored, yet they still go ahead and shoot scenes (e.g. long romantic kissing scenes) that get deleted afterwards by the censorship bureau. They spend time, effort and budget on making content that goes against the rules, but why?
Guys I just read in Wikipedia page that this drama has 2 parts. The first part is this one with 20 eps and the…
If that's true, I hope the 1st season wraps up the story with only a few loose plot threads left. Nothing is more disappointing than having a 2nd season announced but no filming date in sight and we're all left waiting.

Just joking 🤣
