Finished watching all 8 episodes and seriously its awesome so far, acting, plot development, cgi is excellent…
As far as I know, they do like Zhou Dongyu in her modern/movie roles. They just don't think this particular role matches her for superficial reasons. But I personally think she looks really cute here.
The female is annoying but the male lead is gorgeous bye LOL
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I still find it sad how often C-drama female leads are called annoying while the male leads are universally loved by fans…
For a drama that has fantasy elements, the most unbelievable thing to me is a young man drawing shoujo comics for a living. Maybe I don't read enough comics but I've never seen a male artist creating romance stories with shoujo genre tropes.
I actually liked Shan Shan’s character arc. I met such people in college who seemingly destroyed their lives…
Well, those two dramas you mentioned are from Korea. Just because they are a bit more progressive with mental health or are trying to be, it doesn't mean it's going to be the same in China.
Usually, when a conventionally pretty actress plays a female lead who is supposed to be an "ugly duckling", a lot of viewers make fun of the miscast and say Chinese casting directors must be blind. But for this drama, they made a bold decision and chose an actress who actually looks the part. Because apparently, the female lead in the novel is supposed to be chubby. So Lamu Yangzi looks perfect for the role. I don't know why some people are complaining, even though the show hasn't even aired yet.
Sorry for being naive but why can't they air this just because the female lead actress is embroiled in some bad rumours? Anyone who doesn't want to watch her can just skip this drama. I just find it a pity to waste the hard work of everyone who was involved in shooting this show if it's never going to be aired.
You could have just said ZLS didn't suit the character Changge without bringing ZLS down. You're no better than…
I agree with you. It's disappointing how some viewers pit ZLS and Dilraba against each other and try to make them into rivals. Can't we just appreciate their respective roles and skills?
rlly?? what give u the idea this is a kdrama?? korea taking the credit once again. just cuz of kpop they can do…
The person you're replying to probably can't tell different Asian languages apart. That's why they mistook this show for being a K-drama. It's just a simple mistake.
I find it hilarious how some international fans are complaining about Reba not passing has a man in the drama.…
I hope it doesn't sound wrong but this doesn't match my impression of China at all? From what I know, they love that mixed Uyghur look and actresses like Dilraba are seen as beautiful for matching all the current Chinese beauty preferences like a tall nose bridge and fair skin.
She has already played main roles in several historical dramas too, so if her ethnicity really was a problem, she wouldn't get casted, would she? Also, Li Changge is supposed to be mixed anyway so Dilraba's look is actually perfect for the role.
