Which actors and actresses in C-dramas would you say look like real men and women to you?
No offense intended but I'm confused why someone who doesn't like the "pretty boy" trend nor skinny women watches C-dramas. After all, dramas nowadays are chock full of effeminate men and women who are so skinny, they barely have any curves.
I think some criticism is valid when it comes to the acting of actresses and the roles they get.But what's also…
I should have clarified that by nitpicking facial expressions I meant vague comments like, "her pouts annoy me" or "her mouth movements look weird". To me, these don't sound like criticism on someone's acting abilities.
I watched the 1st episode without subs. The drama has a pretty funny concept. Similar to The Romance of Tiger and Rose or Lost Romance but more "direct". I wished this had been made into a full length drama.
Deep sigh. Another mysogenistic 'I hate her acting'. Rarely, hardly ever does someone comment on the acting of…

But what's also true – and here, I agree with you – is that some viewers are hyper-critical with women and will nitpick everything about an actress, from her voice to her facial expressions and even facial features. I rarely see such nit-picky comments about men.
nah...that would make it the typical 3rd party story... why i'm so glad they get rid of it honestly...and i love…
I'm also glad there's no love triangle in this drama. I especially like that the female leads also care about each other. Hopefully this trend continues in new Chinese dramas.
I started this drama on a whim and didn't know what to expect, but I really like it so far. The plot is well-paced, the actions scenes are great and I love the friendship between the FL and her brother/friend.
Is this primarily romance, or is there a lot action? I generally don't like romance if it's the focus.
Haven't watched all the episodes yet but so far, romance is just one part of the plot, not the whole focus. I'd recommend it for someone who doesn't like romance-focussed dramas but that's just my subjective opinion.
As long as they keep filming, I'll remain hopeful that one day I'll see this. I just hope that when all is said…
A drama doesn't need a romance storyline at all to make it "acceptable". Since they can't include same-sex couples because of censorship, I hope they don't make up a random romantic relationship. Not all dramas need a (straight) romance. Script writers these days seem to think romance-less dramas don't sell, but I think many viewers would love to see strong friendships and platonic relationships.
Started with liking the black poster that looked so dreamy. I really like the little opera bits but it's pretty…
Thanks for the comment, I was wondering whether I should start another drama or not. By the way, I don't think Chinese censorship cares about kissing scenes. Why are you surprised they passed the censors?
