SPOT ON! So glad someone is mentioning it. Most of his fans are in denial (and I adore him). He or his agency…
I suspect his agency doesn't have enough influence and power to pick better scripts for him, and I totally understand why it's frustrating for his fans to see that.
There are a few other actors and actresses I can think of who are perpetually stuck in low/mid-budget productions or always play the same role over and over again when they could do so much better and have the potential for more. Some actors get lucky though and manage to land meatier roles in high-quality dramas but such luck doesn't come to everyone.
I concur with everyone else: this had 10 star potential for a mini-series but left it on the table with the "that-was-it?"…
I'm halfway through the show and the ML is being a very typical overbearing CEO so far. I actually came here to see if any other viewers noticed that.
He's a total stalker and forcefully grabs the FL's several times to the point of bruising her arm at one point. I'll have to add, however, that the FL isn't very likeable either. Maybe both leads will get better in the last 10 episodes.
I have to say the ML can kiss. It is one of those kiss scenes that made me go 😳 when I see it (haven't seen…
Most importantly, he has a willing partner! Kiss scenes always look way better when both leads participate equally.
I feel like short-length web dramas tend to have more realistic and hotter kiss scenes than normal-length dramas. I wished this wasn't the case. Some kisses in normal dramas are so tame, they make me laugh 😆
That was a cute scene. However, I wonder why she was fully attired at night. Should she be wearing a ancient pajama?
Well, Ji Chu was wearing white pajamas in this scene but Hua Qingge wasn't. Maybe she wasn't ready to go to bed yet and that's why she didn't change out of her day clothes lol
I rarely feel this way about an actor or actress but this man is ridiculously hot. I love his role in Arsenal Military Academy and wished he had more works where he can show off his acting skills and handsome looks.
Doubon rating for AMA was only 6.6 with 63,636 ratings, yet this was a fabulous movie and the two leads got best…
I've heard a Douban rating of around 7 is considered good. That means a 6.6 is actually not that bad and this drama is rated above average compared to other dramas.
You could say a 7 on Douban is equivalent to an 8-9 on kisskh.
I strongly believe that actresses who are just cute-looking and borderline average cannot evoke passion in dramatic…
I can see why such casting decisions are frustrating but I think dramas like these are aimed at a specific audience that some viewers like you (and plenty of others) just don't fall into.
The audience being girls and young women who are more likely to identify with a female lead who looks "borderline average" and is on the cuter side. Of course the male lead is usually tall and handsome because this is the actual reason many viewers watch these dramas in the first place.
In many young adult books, it's also common to pair up plain Janes with male characters who look conventionally attractive. It's just wish fulfillment fantasy.
You mean the fact, they literally stole half of ancient Middle Eastern music and tried to pass it on as Chinese.…
Oh. It's probably inspiration from history instead of theft.
I've noticed some historical Chinese dramas have Middle Eastern influences in costumes and music when they want to portray foreign desert tribes and fictional kingdoms. I'm sure most viewers do not mistake those influences as being part of Chinese culture, at least I don't.
There used to be cultural exchange between China and the Middle East through the Silk Road, so I guess that's where it comes from.
i personally don't like dramas with travel back in time or wormhole transfer to novel /game etc. So I'm watching…
Yep, the styling is not a strong point of this drama.
I immediately noticed how thick the make-up of some of the main characters is. ML and the coroner lady in particular look like they were styled for a cosplay photoshoot or a TikTok/Douyin video rather than a TV show.
I'm still enjoying the story, though. But better and more cohesive styling would've improved the drama so much.
Has anyone noticed how good the background music is? The composer did a great job at enhancing a low-budget webdrama with the songs they composed or chose. They really add to the suspense and atmosphere of the story.
I'm not here to judge you for having a negative opinion on this drama but I do want to say it's kind of funny to dislike a show for being "too" female-centric. That's truly the kind of criticism you can only see in the C-drama fandom, lmao.

To anyone who watched the whole episde: Is there any explanation for what happened at the end or are we, as the audience, just supposed to accept it?

This isn't the best drama EVER but something about it just keeps me watching and I can't wait to see how the plot and relationships unfold.
