Zhen cries because Zhang hasn't made up his mind even after everything they went through, and Zhang didn't because to him everything they did was for the plot, he still hasn't accepted that part of him yet. Its in ep 7 after watching Zhen cry that he makes up his mind. Yes people watching this show didn't condone cheating but that's how they wanted to show the story play out and I believe they do get the consequences of their actions(cheating even tho technically they didn't consider it that).
