To be honest, he really said "please, go out with me" (and in such a serious way) so it's really easy to misunderstand…
Yeah. I wasn't looking at subs during that time and even though I know zero japanese, "please, go out with me" is such a memorable line in jBL my brain registered it, no questions asked.

Then I was like why are you surprised?! You literally asked him out few seconds ago!

[Behind Cutie Pie episode summaryreview?]

Overall, this was exactly what I expected from it. Not much in terms of bloopers, but there has been some funny parts. Heaps of fanservice, but more on that later. And of course, the traditional "behind the scenes" insights I tend to find boring.

The whole episode is almost an hour long. I admit I skimmed through the scenes that weren't interesting to me (mainly side character stuff and some fanservice). Parts 1 and 3 were the best in my opinion, since they went through my favorite scenes from first 2 episodes of CP.

There is a lot of fanservice. And I mean, a lot. ZeeNunew (LianKuea) jumps out at you every few seconds. To be fair, they looked pretty comfortable with each other, probably because they're used to it by now. Surprisingly enough, there was basically zero MaxNat (YiDiao) fanservice. Just one little scene in part 3 (around 6:20 mark), which also looked hella forced to me and was thankfully interrupted by NuNew. Which, let me tell you. Scenes with NuNew and Nat (Kuea and Diao) were the saving grace of this episode! The fanservice didn't feel so natural to me, but it was very cute. I would have rather watched a cut version with just the two of them. I don't get why they left out MaxNat, though. Maybe they're saving it up for later (since there weren't much of them at the start of the show) or they have other plans with them (adaptation of book 2, breaking them up). I'm not really into pairing stuff, it just seemed off to me.

For everyone interested in Kuea/Diao interactions, these were my favorite marks : (part 1, minute 4), (part 2, 10:30), (part 3, 2:30) and (part 3, 6:30). There is also a really cute scene with just Nat (Diao) in part 2 around 12:30 mark.

Some other stuff:

Acting coach looks like he aged 10 years trying to make this mess work (part 3, minute 7)

Now I understand why people find Poppy (Foei) attractive (part 1, around 7:40 mark).

There are also two memorable scenes with the acting coach. In part 1 (11:20), he's explaining the importance of Kuea's confession scene (the end of episode 1) from a technical point of view. He also coaches Zee how Lian should feel during the rejection (part 1, around 12:50 mark). Honestly, I think that his explanation didn't match the script (what Lian actually says in that scene) at all. I don't know who to blame for it, but it surely didn't help me see Lian in a better light.

To sum up. If you're looking for ZeeNuNew fanservice, this is a great episode for you (and you've prolly already watched it either way). Nothing for MaxNat. Some cute scenes with NuNew and Nat (see above for timestamps). Not much in terms of plot explanations or interesting insights. TutorYim aren't even worth mentioning.

For me personally, this episode just made it more clear to me that I want a drama with NuNew and Nat as main leads (doesn't need to be a pairing, but I won't complain if it is). Part 4 is a skip. Part 2 is only good at the end for Diao. Parts 1 and 3 are a mix between boring, fanservice, and slightly interesting.

Just realized there is a MDL page for the BTS episode, so I will just repost my comment from the main discussion in case anyone stumbles here and wonders what it is like.

Non-spoilery TL; DR : It's mostly fanservice for ZeeNunew. Not much of MaxNat (1 scene). No TutorYim afaik. More NuNew + Nat scenes than I expected (around 5). Aside from that, there are few scenes for side characters and 2 connected scenes with the acting coach. Not much bloopers, if any. Overall, I think it's only worth it if you enjoy the fanservice (ZeeNunew).

Whomever stated that this particular series, reminds them of an early 2000s yaoi, was so on the mark. This is…
"And Mike, the episode breakdown was a stunner. Loved it."

Good to know. I appreciate your virtual company in these trying times๐Ÿ’œ

I feel like I'm getting apathetic to this BS. On one hand I'm glad they aren't upping the creeps faster than I can adapt to it, but on the other hand... it's gotten to a point when the're nothing new really in it. Just one big dejected eyeroll.

I'm starting to question whether they even have a script at all, or everyone's just using flashcards.

[Episode 9 notes]

Since CP made me wait for it a bit longer, I expect a masterpiece. (not really)

Way to make him feel better, Lian! As if it's only the privileged people that don't know how to cook!

So Lian was a basically The Little Match Girl? I could believe that.

I find it a bit hypocritical of him to call Kuea a doll, and then try to fish for Kuea's affection by telling Kuea how much he changed for him. It's almost as if your circumstances have an impact on your behaviour!

Sorry. This scene could have been pretty nice if I were able to erase those past 8 episodes from my mind.

Yeah, nice way to kill any sympathy I had for you, Lian! Forget it, since getting your D wet seems to be the priority.

How many ages, Lian? And before you answer, I'd like to remind you that Kuea is barely an adult now.

You can take off the watches, too. Might be uncomfortable otherwise.

Notice how Kuea is always saying no to Lian's advances and Lian is like : "If you don't kiss me on a cheek, I won't give you food. And also, I will sleep with you again." Must be romantic.

I was gonna say we stan Diao's father, but no. He doesn't deserve my stanning.

"Kuea, you've never disappointed me. Not even once." - I call bullshit, though I can't think of a good contradiction. I might find one if I rewatched the series.

"Thank you for growing up and becoming my source of happiness" - No comment ๐Ÿ˜‚

Need to get him into shape if you're gonna do you-know-what every night and morning.

Cheeky is not the word I'd use, but good enough.

Kuea might not be worried, but I am. Not much about what other people would think, though.

What are you?! Rabbits in heat?

"I don't want to be engaged with you anymore" - A very healthy way to ask someone to elope with you. You've got this, Hia!

There are differences. Neither of them warrants discrimination, but differences are certainly there. Even in a world of BL.

I agree with Lian. It's certainly not luck that got them where they are right now (in a bathtub).

There's a lot of mushy stuff this episode. It's getting to me ๐Ÿ’œ

Just talk to him, Yi! It's not gonna solve itself.

Kuea gets to make a decision?!
Spoiler alert: He doesn't.

Nuer-Kuea drama wasn't forgotten? I'm expecting something coherent out of it.

Nothing to see here. Just two "friends" giving each other valuable "advice".

Yeah. Give him your shirt, Nuer! And your pants, too, while you're at it!! ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Oh, no. Hias won't like it when they find out Kuea and Diao managed to meet.

Ew, you sold him out. Anything for Hia, I guess.

Worry, sure. Like you had time for that.

Or he could tell him in private? Like normal people? This intervention sucks.

Rude of Yi to say it, but also true (to a point). Lian is acting way less serious in front of his business contacts.

You've almost made it, Diao! All that was left was to leave the building.

Why is Kuea apologizing? Diao is your friend, fight for him! He would do anything for you ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ˜ญ

"I think I have a way to deal with him" - You truly don't, Yi. Either tell him the truth or let him go.

You envy what?! Now that's a hot take to make my blood boiling ๐Ÿ˜ก

Nice of you to abandon him, Kuea. Genius move.

"When it comes to ordering food, I know I can trust you." - What's with that face, Kuea? You're acting like he promised you the moon ๐ŸŒ‘

You have a foul mouth, Yi. No wonder you don't talk that much.

Uff. The dog coercion. Lame. I don't even have words (I actually do have words, but that would turn too messy even for me).

Why doesn't Kuea have cash? So he's easier to control? ๐Ÿ˜Š

Steal his sh*t, Nu-Kuea! And run away with Diao ๐Ÿ’š

Finally! After 3 episodes of foreshadowing, the "plot" is starting.

To sum up the relationships progress:
YiDiao - ๐Ÿฆฎ / 10
NuerSyn - ฮต / 10
LianKuea - NaN / 10

"The one thing that has been driving me absolutely mad the past few episodes is how they keep trying to shove Nuea and/or Toh into just about every situation."

I was so disappointed when they cut Daisy's subplot short just to insert more NueaToh(+SkyJao?) drama!! Like it barely even got a screentime (we don't see Daisy nor Touch going through it, we just hear Daisy talk about it), and it's already over? Because someone leaked a photo of Toh and Jao and people are badmouthing them. I'm not saying that isn't a worthwhile issue, but it's just a really bad time to introduce it imo.

I think this was one of the most important episodes of this series. The beginning of ep 11 shows how happy and…
I suggest for people that only watch it to get into a good mood to consider dropping it, because it's shaping up to be more heartwrenching. That's all. I think after watching this episode, most people will know where they stand. But I always try to write one non-spoilery comment that conveys my feelings about the show so far.

I don't think it's bad for the show to address those issues. Though I'm personally not satisfied about how they addresed it (mostly because of the timing and drastic tone change), I think it's a good thing they tried.

One of my favorite things about SCOY is how OTT and still realistic it manages to be. If you are interested about my personal take on it, feel free to read my comments below (behind the spoiler tag) ๐Ÿ’š

To be totally honest, I'm glad this show is nearing its end. It's starting to get to me how repetitive it is.

Also, the penultimate episode syndrome came too soon, though it still can be considered "episode 11 curse". The tone of this drama is lost on me more and more.

For people who use this as a cute mood-upper, you might want to consider dropping the series.

[Episode 11 notes - I had opinions]

Me looking at the thumbnails for each part: "Have I missed something? Like, 2 episodes worth of something?!"

Okay. So Toh crazy crazy now.

Here Toh goes away, switching from super unrealistic to super relatable.

Yeah. Glamorifying Toh isn't a good idea imo.

He didn't change much? From what I can see so far, only his hairstyle is a bit different.

Here we go again with the weird love declarations. I'm trying to get used to it, but there's so many of them!

That was rude. Like rude rude. I'm dreading the insecurity issues that one would spark.

Khu Khing ๐Ÿ˜ The only couple that still has some "declaration passes" to spend ๐Ÿ’œ

The clothes are very bright. I will get back to them once he actually puts them on.

Oh, so it was just a shirt, not a whole suit. It looks better than I expected. I would still probably switch the bow tie for something more muted (maybe something creamy?), but it suits him.

Nuea's father looks scary scary. Which just means he'll be most likely harmless.

Back to the clothes (I have no real interest in fashion. Why am I focusing on this?). The tie looks more okay now, but still could be better. But the embroidery on the left side seems really tacky? Pretty childish. Totally destroys the whole refined image.

Since we are still hung up on clothes, Nuea's sister looks beautiful like that.

Also the camera is messing up Toh's look. It would have been cute if Nuea carried it for him, though.

He should have told his dad, too. That's just like, a common courtesy. Similarly with the Sky's fiasco a week ago.

At first I thought it's Nuea's sister sitting with them, until the girl put her b*tch face on.

That was so scary. It has to be a hallucination.

The "wedding" scene was actually pretty good. Until... you know.

Why would you make a declaration like that Nuea? Talk about increasing the pressure.

Yeah, the father is nice. And hot. No surprise there.

Do I smell Daisy (/Day) development? Please, don't be too angsty.

Thima? I'm confused. [later found out it's Toh's first name]

Also, I like how the subtitles immediately changed to he/him after the Day scene. Normally I don't trust subtitles in BL, but this seems intentional (even if hella confusing).

And another unnecessary declaration.

"Naughty kid". "Guardian". Not really a fan of this, but whatever. I'm not watching this drama for a plot either way.

The friend group trying not to cry when Day(sy) comes to the table is a mood. I'm kinda guessing where they're going with that and I don't like it.

Has Daisy been a vegetarian and I missed it?

Nevermind, it was just the spoon. Which, feelings ๐Ÿ˜ญ

No sh*t. That hurt. This show is treating its character like chess pieces.

Really bad timing for the photo drama [from production POV]. And while I appreciate Sky checking up on Jao, I don't think Nuea's necessarily wrong in letting Toh handle it on his own. But I'm sure there will be more of it later on, so we will see.

Also, this is very FUTS conflict. Not impressed.

Yeah, Toh, you're pretty F-d up in the head. Not that I don't understand where he' s coming from, but still... have some confidence, boy!

I don't feel good about this. Give me back my smile!! ๐Ÿ˜–
