Contrary to what others think, I feel both Lu Feng and Yichen are equally obsessed with each other. The difference is that one expresses it openly while the other doesn’t.
From what I gathered from today’s episode, Yichen and Lu Feng are in completely different mindsets.
Yichen thinks Lu Feng made a MISTAKE when it came to his mother and brother, while Lu Feng thinks Yichen BETRAYED him. See the difference? So obviously their reactions are gonna be different.
Yichen realises that what he did was wrong (after five years!🙄) and apologises to Lu Feng. He has also forgiven Lu Feng and is ready to make amends and move forward.
Meanwhile, Lu Feng only knows that Yichen disappeared from his life without even a proper goodbye. He still believes that Yichen left him to marry an heiress for money and that Yichen was happily married all these years. So of course he’s going to be jealous, hurt, angry....
Yichen could have gone back to Lu Feng at any point during those five years, but he chose not to. While Lu Feng would have gone after Yichen in a heartbeat if only he had known where Yichen was.
So I kinda understand where Lu Feng is coming from. He is burning with pain and can’t see things straight. He just wants Yichen to feel one tenth of what he is feeling, not knowing that Yichen is already silently enduring his own pain. You can call it revenge or pure self sabotage because Lu Feng knows his actions are causing both of them more pain. He just doesn’t fully realise how far he has gone in hurting the only person he loves the most.
Ryo and Zen need to either kiss each other in front of Futami or volunteer to kiss Futami senseless just to make that man shut up. God he talks too much! I'd love to see him speechless for once.🤣
I haven't read the novel but this whole trend of toning things down really frustrates me because it's happening…
I did watch the original adaptation of this one many years ago. I can't remember much of it but from what I recall, it was way darker than this one. I was like how did this even get past chinese censorship?

I haven't read the novel but this whole trend of toning things down really frustrates me because it's happening more and more now, not just in BL but in other Chinese dramas as well. They water down morally gray, flawed characters just to make them more palatable to today's pearl clutching generation, resulting in a caricature of a character who was once really complex and interesting.

as someone who hasn't read the novel, from the drama alone, it felt like they were both attracted to each other. qinglong's feelings were more apparent while liuyi seemed oblivious to his own. just look at the way liuyi looks at qinglong, it's so different.
he practically worshiped qinglong and put him on a pedestal. maybe liuyi thought he could never reach him and settled for having him as a brother in law knowing his sister already loved qinglong. but liuyi made sure qinglong became a part of his family so they could stay together forever🥹
on his bday, right before he asks qinglong to marry his sister, there's this longing on liuyi's face as if he wants to ask qinglong for himself instead. idk maybe im reading too much into it 😩

The good news is that surprisingly we get to see so many Chinese BLs now even though they’re toned down.
This one has some of the best kisses I’ve seen in all Chinese dramas, so that’s definitely an improvement.
