He was even gloating about XH’s potential capital punishment after the emperor discovered he exchanged the longwu army for her. He is so disgusting and he lacks self awareness.

The way Ah Li ran to XH, and then they held hands in the carriage..XH was clutching onto her hand for dear life, he didn’t want to let go. They are too cute!!

Huh? The candle is the real villain but there is no way the sexual tension between XH and JL can be seen as a sibling relationship. That’s actually a worrisome statement lol. Even if they didn’t have any kiss scene in the whole drama, their chemistry is still a lot stronger than a lot of dramas with heavy tongue action.

It’s really frustrating but WXY was like 20/21 when they filmed this drama, if they had intense kissing scenes, i guess Cnetz would have been in an uproar cos of the age gap. It’s a good thing their chemistry is so good that their non kiss romantic scenes are still so impactful.

She is only human but she was reckless so it’s okay for people to point that out.

Her actions are pretty consistent to her character and the way she is written, so it’s not a case of poor writing, just that people are frustrated at her poor calculation and reckless moves. I mean Duke su got mad too.

XH should invade the eldest princess chambers to save XFF’s brother? On what grounds? Lol. The capital security office that he took over in episode 30, was because an assassin tried to assassinate the princess of greater Zhao, and he used the Longwu army to do that. That was what it took for just an office controlled by the princess.

Now to invade the chambers of the eldest princess, who sacrificed herself as a hostage to a rival kingdom to ensure peace in the country and whose brother is faithfully guarding the border of the country (at least in the eyes of the people), what do you think it will take? If XH tries to invade her chambers without sufficient justification, king cheng won’t even have to plan a rebellion, the people will rebel themselves and kick the emperor out. That is the reason why the emperor and XH have been tiptoeing around Wanning and cutting off her and king Cheng’s support before they can deal the final blow. It’s also the reason why XH kept telling JL to not use herself as bait.

Tbh, JL’s recklessness is part of her character cos she is only human, but it’s also her major flaw. Without XH, she would have been long dead. I just wish she would be a little bit more careful now the stakes are rising and they have a threat of rebellion right at their doorstep.

Jiang li Jiang li…now you are trapped. This was why Duke Su was so pissed and honestly he is right. He has been dealing with schemers and corrupt people for long which was why he told her never to use herself as bait or put herself at risk in her schemes. Now she recklessly used her reputation and trapped SYR to trigger Wanning, unfortunately she completely underestimated how unhinged Wanning is. Did she think it would be that easy to deal with Wanning when even the Emperor has to thread lightly with her? I wonder how she will get herself out of this…she didn’t think it through at all. This is so annoying.

The trailer for episode 32 and 33..looks like JL got trapped in her own web and Wanning will make a move. XH must be so worried…he warned her several times not to use herself as bait.

SYR is one of the most compelling characters in this show, and the actor playing his character is nailing the role so hard.

Him telling JL that he “loves” his ex wife was really interesting, and I believe him. He loved her initially but then greed and cowardice took over, and he did those horrible things to her.

At this point in the drama, he is still such a wild card cos we still don’t even know where his loyalties lie. He doesn’t seem to like Princess wanning but he tries to please her..maybe out of fear, also he seems to be “aware” of JL, and he tries to protect her too. His actions are so confusing. It’s either the drama writes a redemption arc for him by making him sacrifice himself to take down wanning or He gets caught up in wanning’s schemes and dies..either ways, he should still receive retribution for his past actions.

After all he foreshadowed his end in his own words, “If one goes against one’s conscience, no matter how many good deeds they do, they will face divine retribution”.

It’s not a Cdrama if we don’t suffer a few character deaths and heartbreak..so far the drama ends happily for the main couple, i’ll be satisfied.

It has always been like that..when XFF first came to the Jiang household and noticed it, she said it was fate.

I find it so adorable how XH and JL can quickly recognise when the other one feels jealous, and they do everything to placate each other.

JL got jealous when XH was worried for Situ Jiuyue and he had to explain quickly so she wouldn’t misunderstand. Then XH got jealous when JL was playing music with SYR at the Royal banquet, so JL offered to play a special piece for him to make him happy. They are so cute and adorable..one of the healthiest relationships i’ve ever seen on screen.

Jealous Duke Su is the most adorable and precious thing i’ve ever seen..

The story is mostly female centric and mostly focused on the revenge of the Fl. In the novel, the ML appeared even less than in the drama. I don’t think anyone expected WXY to be so captivating in the role, so it’s a pity he didn’t have as much screen time. But the story is still really enjoyable.

I recall when this drama started, a lot of people were complaining the romance developed too quickly for the type of intense trauma the female lead went through. But some of us were like, this is still a slow burn romance, yea they are attracted to each other but they haven’t explicitly confessed their feelings yet. And now, we are really bearing the brunt of slow burn romance (Almost episode 30 and no kisses yet), and now some people are complaining that the romance is too slowburn..Lol.

The way the romance is progressing is actually very natural considering the personalities of the ML and FL. They know they like each other but they have several things to do and loose ends to tie up before they can indulge in their feelings. Although, I wish they would have a little bit more openly romantic and intimate moments since we only have 10 episodes left with the couple. But all in due time..

I’m fine with the way the drama is progressing but if they increase the romantic moments between the main CP, the drama’s popularity will keep skyrocketing. A lot of people are obsessed with Duke Su’s character.

Yes I noticed he liked her…I hope they get together later on when she has gotten over her mother’s manipulations.
