I think a lot of problems with C-dramas is that the writers do this thing where they give the FL and SML lots of attention and chemistry but not enough with the ML. And expect us (viewers) to just accept the FL & ML relationship bcs they are supposed to be the leads. Even when we see they don't have any chemistry. It's quite frustrating.

The main leads do get together early on. Like episode 13 or so. Don't remember since I watched it when it was on air. They never breakup.

It's a very mature story and you will love ALL the characters, not just the leads. Lol sory I don't want to spoil the ending for you since it's very controversial. You have to watch it and decide. But I loved it cause there were hints to how it will all end throughout the show.

Lol lets just say that you are in for a ride. The ending is happy if you stop at ep 34.

Also, the ending all depends on how you see it.

I just started watching this show and I'm enjoying it for the most part. I'm currently on ep 6.

My only problem so far is I'm not liking the ML. And I'm not liking how they are treating the FL character. Especially how the ML is acting. I get the fact that it's not his business if FL is dating his sister's EX. He's not obligated to tell FL cause that's his sister's business, BUT for ML to go out of his way and DELIBERATELY FOOL the FL MANY TIMES just so she wouldn't find out she's dating his sister's EX was uncalled for. He and his sister know the EX is a bad person but they are not warning the FL, but fooling her. That's just disrespectful and mean. This whole situation is dragging on too long.

I know they want us viewers to see how the ML care for the FL and how he does things for her, but so far I'm not impressed with how he treats the FL. He and his sister are annoying and mean for how they are fooling the FL. I'm not currently liking them...

But I will keep watching to see if anything improves. Lol oh and that damn annoying wig they got my girl in😂😩

But really, his character is very useless. I really don't like how the writers are writing his character. He could have been such an interesting character with all his amazing devices, but instead they made him a whimp and a coward.

At first I could ignore him, but after he selfishly caused ----- to die, I now hate the character and find him irritating. Personally, I didn't think he should have been forgiven by everyone that easily. 🫠

Okay, today episodes (23&24) were a little on the emotional side. I really love how the story is unraveling so far. No one is completely good or completely bad. It's just that they've all met circumstances they have to deal with (sometimes in a bad way).

I really like these two episodes. A lot of the stroy/secrets were revealed and our characters are finally coming to the end of their journey. I feel so sad for Jin Zhao. He really wantes to know his past, but everyone keeps telling him he should let it go. That it wouldn't benefit him. It's so frustrating and so sad. But I also don't want him to know. I'm scared how that will affect his relationship with Qi (he already abandoned her once when he thought they were together because of a spell) if he finds out they are together because of some "big" reason, he might abandon her again...

And I'm sorry, I know this might not be a popular opinion, but I really like that scene where Qi fight him with the sword. I think his first mistake was underestimating Qi and thinking just cause they shared some kind of bond, she wouldn't hurt him. I guess he thought she's just supposed to do nothing while that little annoying brat kills Jin Zhao. I'm sorry, I don't feel bad for Bian Luohan...

I'm really excited for the next coming episodes!!!

I'm so sorry, but I like the scene where she didn't look back and kept fighting him with the sword. Eventually hurting/almost killing him. Lol I like that very much.

That little girl was out of control. She was aiming to kill Jin Zhao and she had to be stopped. Qi just did what she was supposed to do to stop her. Bian Luohan is the one who got in the way.

Lol I know she's young, but the self righteous attitude is off putting. I really liked the conversation Bain Luo Huan was having with her. Letting her know that just because they were trying to "save" the world doesn't mean they are not bad guys. I like that he let her know they themselves are EVIL.

I definitely agree with you on their reconciliation scene. It was VERY ANTICLIMACTIC and such a let down.

The build up was so good. You have two people suffering apart, wishing they could be together. One of them nearly lost their life looking for ways for them to reunite.

Then they finally meet again and all we get is stupid slow-mo of them running to each other and saying a dumb dialogue like "there's no husheng spell" like huh???

Lol sorry, that whole scene pissed me off so bad. Lol I was thinking for all that, they should have just stayed apart. The director really dropped the ball right there and ruined what could have been a really beautiful scene. 😩

Exactly this! A lot of shows don't know how to balance the character being naive with being dumb. So the character just ends up childish and dumb.

But Qi is written really well and her character's naivete is one of her greatest strength.

I just finally caught up with this show (ep 20) and I'm glad I'm watching it. The story is so absorbing and beautifully told. Though I haven't seen the actual game the show is based on, the show makes me feel like I'm watching the game take place. I think it's because the CGI is so amazing and gamelike. It's a good adventure story.

First things first, Xu Kai. He is so amazing in this role. He plays his two characters so well that I have different feelings to both characters. They are both so different that it feels like two different actors. What a wonderful actor he's turn out to be!!! Look forward to his other shows!!

Secondly, I have seen a lot of people complain about Yu Shu Xin's voice. I'm sorry, but it doesn't bother me. I think she's amazing in her role. One thing I love about her character is that though she's naive, she's not a damsel in distress, or annoying. She's a fighter and even stronger than most of them. She's naive but not stupid or dumb. She's smart and courageous. I think it's because Xinxin is portraying the character so well, that's why the character is not annoying!

Lastly, I love that all the characters bring their own charm to the story. They are all independent off the main leads. Their stories do not revolve around the main leads. And all their stories intersect well.

The story has settled in and everything is starting to come to light. We are at the final stretch and I have a feeling our characters are about to experience some lows. I'm excited to see how everything plays out.

Respectfully, I disagree on this. First, they don't have a "romance" YET

Second, I don't think there's anything forced about their friendship. Their friendship "romance" so far is the most beautiful thing about this show. IMO, they act exsctly the way people who have known eachother for 3yrs and depended on eachother.

Third, of course the romance/friendship is going to take up screen time. IT IS THEIR STORY. This whole show is an adventure story of their origins, and that includes thier friendship.

Okay, I really love short dramas, and watch them all the time. This is the FIRST TIME I have seen a short drama have such a HIGH RATING on here. 8.1 for a short drama is such a big thing. The ratings are even competing (and winning) with longer, high budget dramas. Lol I'm so surprised!!!

The story is really good and addictive so I see why the ratings are high. The characters are interesting so far. I can't wait to see how this all plays out.

EXACTLY THIS!!! but I guess everyone is conveniently forgetting how immature and petty the ML is all because the FL lied 8yrs ago saying she break up with him cause he wasn't successful.

Lol I love the ML and think the two of them will make a gret couple once they start communicating. BUT I still believe the ML have a lot of growing up to do and mature emotionally.

But only because she's taking what happened to her mom seriously and it's hard for her. Sometimes our family circumstances really shape our outlook on life. And it's hard to let go and decide our own fate. Hope she does soon.

They BOTH lack basic communication skill and should just sit down and talk. Harsh things out and decide whether to get back together or go seperate ways once and for all.

I'm really enjoying this show and I'm sad to see a lot of yall are misunderstanding the FL.

Are you guys really watching the show and paying attention to the characters motives, drives and stories, or are yall just here for the ML???

Why are people saying that the FL only wants the ML if he's successful or why can't she accept him now that he's successful??? If yall remember SHE DID NOT BREAK UP WITH HIM BECAUSE HE WASN'T SUCCESSFUL. Yall just heard that part and decided to stop listening to the rest on the show.

It's quite sad that her character is getting so misunderstood because her reasons for breaking up with ML back then are so nuanced and layered. If you all are paying attention, we are seeing the effects of her reasoning within her family.

And she's still iffy about getting back together because again, her possible UN job, AND the ML haven't shown her any emotional growth. She used to be the more mature one and was constantly supporting the ML dreams and emotional state. But it seems the ML haven't changed, so she's iffy about it all.

We need to give her time to come to terms with her life and let go of her family's mistakes. Give her time to realize she can create her own fate/destiny and that she's not bound to repeat her mother's mistakes. She's scared, and rightfully so. It's a process for her. Us viewers need to be more forgiving and understanding of her dilemma.

Please watch the show to understand all the nuances presented and not just cause you like the ML. This is a really good show and we should give the FL a chance.
