If you are paying attention, you will realize that this show is all about the different ways selfishness can presents itself in life. It's NEVER one size fit all. EVERYONE can be selfish (gay, straight, bi, etc..) in their own way. And so far, the writers are doing an amazing job showing it!!!
ALL characters are selfish. Their selfishness might be on different levels, but they are all selfish. (Which is what makes them human and amazing characters)
But yall are forgetting what selfishness looks like because you are only focused on DH being gay and feeling sorry for him. Which is understandable. But please, try to look at the story from all point. It makes for an amazing viewing experience!!!

On a more serious note, going through all these comments, it seems you are the only sane person on here. Looking at it from every angle and judging all characters accordingly.
ALL characters are selfish. Their selfishness might be on different levels, but they are all selfish. (Which is what makes them human and amazing characters) But people are forgetting what selfishness looks like because they are focused on DH being gay and feeling sorry for him.
Gay people are humas too, so of course it's natural for them to be selfish. I guess people are overcompensating and over looking DH flaws.
Me personally, i am enjoying this show and all the characters. Their flaws is what makes for a good show. This show is all about the different ways selfishness can presents itself. And so far, the writers are doing an amazing job showing it!!!

This is really good. Like you, the last show I really loved and enjoyed was A Journey to Love. After that show ended, I just couldn't find another show that kept my interest. Lol I have dropped so many shows lately...
But this one has really captured me. I am enjoying it so far!!

Lol I'm back again. I just finished all 4 episodes and I'm really loving this so far. The storytelling is good so far and everything is coming together nicely.
I'm sure like me, most of yall have fallen in love with the chicken....excuse me... I mean the Phoenix who everyone mistakes for a chicken, but is actually the almighty lord Bicangπ. The chicken stole the show and our hearts. Who would have thought a man and a chicken would have such amazing chemistry and makes us root for them ππ
I love that the personality transfered into the human form. It's so funny to watch ML tease Shen Li. Him always pretending to be helpless and bossing her around and her punching away their suppliesπ At this rate, all their household supplies is going to end up at the top of the mountain.π
His comedic timing is so spot on. That scene when he fell into the water and pretended to drown so she can save him, and she grabs him by the hair, and him chocking...π This scene had me CACKLING πππππ
On a more serious note, I think the couple's story might be a foreshadowing of how ML &FL story might play out? I just have a feeling...
The Gu brother story seems quite interesting. I can't wait to see how that plays out, since one of the brothers is... Anyways, I'm looking forward to more episodes!!
Okay I just finished ep 1 and I just wanted to come here and post that I am really enjoying everything about this show so far.
Lol I never thought I would be rooting for a love story between a chicken and a man, but here I am...π The story is just so amazing, you wouldn't even realize it's only happening between a man and a chicken. That chicken's acting.... excuse me, I mean the almighty General who just so happens to be a fallen phoenix, but everyone thinks is a chicken... acting is just too funnyππ It deserves its own award.
I gotta say, the opening OST is so beautiful. It gives me Arabian vibes. Also the scene when the clouds part and the moon shone on chicken/Phoenix and it turned into Shen Li was so amazingly done. The OST brought it to life. I had to rewind like 3 times to enjoy it again.
Lol okay I'm going back to finish now. Will come back with more updates after I finish all 4 episodes!
Okay I need to get this off my chest because I don't like how some of yall are coming at Bai Cai. Infact, so far, she is one of the least annoying FL I have seen in c-drama land. All of her actions and reactions so far are in tune to who the character is. She has not deviated from that.
It's a FACT that it's A Gou (ML) who changed. I think some of you are forgetting that as viewers, we have the privilege of knowing that A Gou is infact Wu Geng. And that he has this big mission. BUT Bai Cai doesn't know this. Nobody has told/talked to her. Everyone is keeping secrets from her.
From her perspective, her and A Gou are orphans. They've raised eachother and looked out for eachother their whole lives, so of course, none of this sudden change in A Gou's attitude of wanting to save the world makes sense to her. But she's still going with it and being supportive. It's only natural that she does not want to see him get hurt.
I urge some of you to please start seeing things from the character's perspective rather than your viewers perspective. It makes for a nice watching!

The mine arc is one of the best character development arc. You will enjoy it
