Why are they adding mooooooooooooooooore epuisodes ?!?!? Watched 16th and saw it wasn;t the last one........ I'M…
I totally thought I was hallucinating until I read your comment. I thought this was going to be the final episode and was wondering how the heck they were going to finalize everything in the 4/4 YT vid. So I came here to MDL to check the number of episodes and now it's suddenly 20 instead of 16. I think this is the first time I've seen that.
I didnt think so but others might. It was all relationship building but for me it was all very enchanting. It would all depend on what type of story you really enjoy.
Ok, Ep. 2 was really good! Really funny and some real eye candy as well. My Only 12% was the only BL that I could hardly wait to see each new episode but now I'm feeling the same way for Big Dragon.
I didnt know much about this drama and just found out about via a Tweet today and decided to watch it right before bed. I honestly wasn't expecting much but was hugely surprised. Good-looking actors, great sets (That bar is gorgeous!), and the leads have mad chemistry. It looks like the story is going to be good as well. I am looking forward to seeing more!
This is a cute drama and I am enjoying it, but it definitely has problems. The dubbed voice for Mek is really off-putting. I have no idea why they did that. Also, for the main couple, they start off with good chemistry but due to Duen's extremely prudish behavior, the chemistry really fizzles out. I found myself getting really frustrated for Bohn. They've been together for 30 days and havent kissed once, and they're both college students? Really? They also have zero storyline. It's just about them getting together. I suppose the whole same-sex aspect is supposed to provide the drama for them, but it doesn't work at all. They're just too cutesy-cutesy or they are bickering and for me it was taken too far and I really didnt feel emotionally connected to either of them or their relationship. But their acting is pretty good so I blame the writers and directors for their failure to make me care about the main couple.
The best couple by FAR is Ram/King. They have great chemistry and their story is really good too. Luckily they show them quite often so it makes up for the lack of, well, anything with the main couple.
What really drives me crazy in these Thai BLs is the hysterical fujoshi girls. And by hysterical I dont mean funny hysterical, I mean crazy hysterical. Do they add these lunatics to make the same-sex thing acceptable or what? Luckily they aren't shown all that often in this show.
The acting and direction are so well done in this series. I could feel that awkward tension that is almost always present when meeting up with somebody you used to be really close to but haven't seen in a long time. Feelings are coming through loud and clear without any need for words. Honestly, the feeling I am getting is that Eiw's romantic feelings for Cake may have changed or that he is feeling the need to cut those feelings off for some reason and it's got me a bit worried about a happy ending, especially since they referenced Love of Siam.
Based on what little I could glean from the trailer with no English subs (Sol Ent did comment that when this airs it will be in high def and have Eng subs so YAY!), it looks to me like the gang rp is the motivator behind what looks to be a revenge plot. The revenge trope is one of my all-time favorites and this one looks like it might turn out to be really good. You cant have sunshine and rainbows and unicorns in every BL show out there. It's already way past having been done to death so I am ready for more, far more serious, BL storylines. Gang rp is ugly but that ugliness is what can bring a story more depth. My favorite BL manhwa is At the End of the Road by Haribo and it starts with a gang rp and somebody dies as a result, but that action brings about events that make that story one of the best out there. I sure hope somebody turns it into a drama.
I'm looking forward to this one. I hope it airs on Gaga or iQIYI so I can watch it uncut if they have NC scenes in it.
Ah, they keep ripping my heart out! Those memories! Ep. 9 was just as good as all the others. Seeing Eiw's growth was really great and I really enjoyed how they showed Eiw and his older brother spending more time together.
I see that many people is angry about the Peak-Hom relationship, but guys maybe you have no idea how life in reality…
The older woman/younger man dynamic has been around for thousands of years and will never go away. How many songs are there out there that are all about a school boy crushing on his teacher? Hot For Teacher by Van Halen is the first one that comes to my mind but there are many, many more. Think of the way young men learned about sex in the past; Japanese men come first to mind. They went to Geishas to learn and while not all Geisha were older, most were. This was also common practice in many other countries in the world and I'm sure it still is. There is a poem by Rudyard Kipling called My Rival that explains why some men love older women, written from a younger woman's perspective. It's been a favorite of mine for more than 45 years. I suggest anybody confused about the older woman/younger man dynamic give it a read. They might learn a thing or two.
I know many people in older women/younger men relationships and their marriages have lasted way, WAY, longer (in fact they are all still married) while pretty much everybody I know who were in the standard older male/younger female relationships have already divorced and remarried and divorced again.
I wonder if those bashing on Peak and Hom have a problem with younger girls marrying much older men. Probably not, because that is the accepted norm but that doesnt make it right. By discriminating against older women/younger men relationships, these people continue to deny female sexuality. I find it funny that these people are open enough to be watching a BL but continue to discriminate against other types of relationships that are considered to be abnormal by main steam popularity standards. The hypocrisy is disgusting.
Hom did the right thing by denying her feelings and turning Peak down. He is a minor and if she were to act on her feelings then, at least here in the US, she would be guilty of statutory rp. That kind of thing here actually gets you put on the official list of sexual predators. I hope they will manage to pick up where they left off now that they are all adults, but the writers might surprise me and never let it materialize.
It ended how it should have with everything being the same, except for the every 15 years part. Honestly, it feels like they are both stuck in a hellish loop of being able to spend a few sweet days together only to have to continually face making the hard decisions in the end, for all eternity. They also dont explain how Jae Woo keeps going back. At least I didnt get it. If they had just let Jae Woo move on, then I would see the whole point of him going back is to allow him to heal. To get the message to live comfortably, which is to stop being so sad and feeling so responsible for Ji Hoon's death. But now Im stuck with this feeling that poor Jae Woo is stuck in hell, feeling this loss over and over and over again. Ugh.
Also, there is a pretty big hole in the story, which honestly, I have never seen a time travel show that didnt have a hole or two. But, if Jae Woo was able to warn himself to stop seeing Ji Hoon that one day, why didnt he just spend every day scaring the jeepers out of his younger self to not wander around at night alone or he'll get killed? Or why not call the police himself on the 29th, multiple times, stating he wanted to kill his girlfriend or something so the police would just be there, patrolling the area? I mean, there are a lot of things he could've done, but then I guess that is what we viewers are supposed to ignore when it comes to time travel stories. I had a hard time ignoring it with this show though.
Still, it was really well acted out and even though they only filmed in just a few locations, I never felt bored or frustrated seeing those same locations. In fact, it didnt even register until just now. It was also great that they kept me guessing the entire time, which had me tuning in like clockwork every week.
I read the comments but still cant shake the hell-loop feeling so if anybody wants to clue me in to what I missed, I would be most grateful.
The relationship between Fah and Tle may be open but Sherbet and Prince don't have any relationship other than…
It isn't clear because Sher keeps telling Prince that nobody can replace him when they are talking about Sher's lovers, and Sher keeps calling Prince his wifey, and Sher asking people to take care of Prince when he can't, and in the beginning, people were saying they've been together for 3 years. It wasn't until the 3rd episode that I finally understood that they are just friends now when they openly spoke about Fah. But their past is still a mystery to me.
If so many characters misunderstand and so many viewers also misunderstand, then I think it's safe to say their relationship isn't very clearly defined.
The side characters are far too annoying. Fah's curly-haired friend is way, WAY, too invested in Fah's private life and it's just weird and creepy. The fujoshi chick is the same way but goes way beyond that by stalking Fah and Sher.
The flow of the story is too choppy and that is because the creepy, obsessed side characters are getting way too much air time.
The relationships Fah and Sher have with Tle and Prince are obviously open, and perhaps this openness is supposed to be a major part of how the relationship between Fah and Sher develops, but it's been badly written. We know these relationships exist but know nothing about them so I am not sure how these past relationships will affect and shape the new ones. This might happen later but if so, the timing is way off. We should've been seeing past relationships from the start. If the writers had spent more time developing the stories of past relationships instead of the creepy side characters, this show would've been much better.
This show is a great example of telling vs showing and that makes it boring. I'm just not getting invested in any of the characters at all. I dont plan to intentionally drop this show but I know myself and I will simply forget to watch it if it continues to be this uninteresting.
I already have an idea who the baddie is. I recognized him. Pretty sure anyway and I have a theory why as well.…
Now that you say this, they have been dropping hints. Like Joo Hyung telling Ji Hoon to stay away from Jae Woo out of the blue like that. It felt abrupt and out of place to me but with this theory it makes sense. I have to go rewatch the first episode because I dont remember the baddie's face.

Ep 10 looks awesome. I cant wait!!!
