unless that's a new recent rule, which it could be but i don't know, there were second season/parts of dramas…
That's right! I forgot about about Joy of Life's second season. I haven't watched it but heard it aired not too long ago, but it did have quite a long wait. I checked Dylan's profile page and could see that he is scheduled to film something else so maybe all of the episodes of GOTD have been filmed already and they just need to polish it up and wait whatever time frame the CCP has mandated.

After reading the comments, I can tell I'm not the only surprised to see this looks like it's the first season. Holy cow, what a great show!! I was hooked from the very first episode. This drama had it all: action, humor, tragedy, grand locations, political intrigue, cultivation, found family, a bit of romance, and a huge twist at the end. I just hope they do film a season 2 or at least a movie, if what is mentioned in the comments is correct and the CCP has banned more than one season. What the heck is up with that anyway? Do they think they're going to keep people from watching TV or something? So lame. Anyway, I think this just became my all-time favorite C-drama.

can you give me some recommendations for dramas with a similar vibe? you know, those binge-worthy romcoms with…
I can't think of any new ones, to be honest. I tend to watch more melodrama than romcom but one of my all time favs is The Master's Sun. It's an older drama but I love it. Plenty of comedy but there is also some great sadness at one point and it's a bit spooky because the MC sees ghosts. It's a classic so you've likely seen it before.

Just finished this and I liked it well enough to binge it less than 24 hours. I'm not a fan of any of the actors that starred in this, except for the ML's dad so I don't have any reason to praise the drama other than I liked it.

I thought the story was really good and even though it is a time travel story, it felt new to me. I felt that the actors were better than the actresses but they all did a good job. I am not at all familiar with Woo Seok but I felt he was the best actor in the drama. There was one scene where he slowly moves from smiling to crying that was very compelling and might just have been the most endearing scene out of the whole drama.

I can see by the comments that people are very mixed about how the writers pulled this all together. I personally thought they did a decent job. I do think the writers should've spent more time writing about the villain and fleshing out his behavior and motivations and ultimately what happens with him in the end, but it was passable. I think they spent too much time with the mundane things then they needed to and had they balanced things out better, this would have been an even more enjoyable drama than it was.

Some of the things I didn't care for were how the FL's voice gets all baby-ish around the ML. Barf. Thankfully it doesn't happen all that often. At least not that I noticed. I also did not like the FL's best friend and her brother. Brother was way over the top and gave me a headache and the BF's haircut in the younger years made me irrationally angry. LOL! I also felt that the FL made some stupid decisions but they were understandable. A bit. I mean, these kinds of stories need some characters to behave in ways real people wouldn't because there would be no drama otherwise, but at least they made it tolerable in this drama, and a bit believable when I thought it over more.

Anyway, if you're looking for a binge-worthy romcom with a thread of mystery, hot bods, decent music, and plenty of LOLs, give this a try and ignore all the bickering in the comments.

Dropped it at the start of the 3rd episode. There is no way I can root for an underdog that is as disgusting the FL is. I was starting to have doubts when she decided to keep the phone for selfish reasons but I didn't think she'd be so disgusting as to blackmail somebody to make herself popular.

What if YZJ leaves DW when he is really really close to death, after they have finished their revenge, to go and…
I think I'm prepared for him to die. The only thing that keeps me guessing was the fact that the witchdoctor said that there was a way to save him. They gave themselves an out with that.

That said, this story is less about romance than it is about one girls journey to freedom and independence. It's more Slice of Life than romance and in my experience with Cdramas dealing with life journeys, the love interest of the MC usually winds up dead. I think it's to prove the point of the story being about the journey of only the MC. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

I heard the novel wasn't even finished yet but there have been enough novel adaptations that totally change the ending anyway so it doesnt really matter that the novel isn't finished.

And it's true about dogs. Cats are similar.

Not gonna lie, ep 35 kinda wrecked me a little bit. I could really care less about Shijiu but I held out hope that Zheng would somehow redeem himself. I suppose he did with Shijiu, but that really doesn't matter so much when it was Duan Wu he needed to redeem himself to. As far as I'm concerned, Shijiu is pretty unredeemable. She kept slaves and beat and killed them for profit and Im not sure she can suffer enough before the end of the series to satisfy me, but still, Zheng's death was really sad for me. I think the writers, director, and actors did a great job if they were able to make me get teary-eyed over two despicable people, especially with that dream.

I think you thought of this very personal but you should put yourself in place of ml not the girl ! apperance…
I didnt take this personally at all and this has nothing to do with unconditional love or even attraction. It's all about being thoroughly disgusted by a person's appearance. And not just disgusted, but fearful even. Not being attracted to her is understandable seeing as how he became attracted to somebody who looks completely different, but his reaction to her original appearance is abhorrent. With a reaction like that, he wouldn't even befriend her. In fact, when she first shows up to his door after surviving her crash, he is so disgusted with her appearance, he tries to turn her away and only decides to help her when he sees how she can help him. His reaction makes it look like it's perfectly normal and acceptable to shun unattractive people. They even make a joke of it. It was really bad form. It didn't make me sad. It pissed me off. Lookism is a real problem in SK and so is pretty privilege. You even have to include your photo on resumes. Imagine not even being able to work because you're fat and unattractive. It's awful.

Ok, so who is the real Snow White in this drama, Seol Ah or Sun Ae? Because it sure seems like Seol Ah's revenge has completely petered out and Sun Ae's is still gathering steam and her revenge is going to be far more devestating than anything filming the drama is going to do. I'm pretty much skipping through everything except Sun Ae's scenes now because the rest has gotten boring AF.

(totally skipped to episode 74)This show has jumped the shark. The DNA tests have been brought out and it seems…
I don't think Ju Ryun is actually her daughter. Her thoughts suggest otherwise. She only thinks that Ju Ryun isn't good enough for WJ, not that they are half siblings. I think JR is the evil husband/dad's kid only from who knows who.

I know this is an old drama but I just found it when looking for revenge dramas and I was really enjoying it, up until Ep. 10 that is. The quality of the production is great and I really didn't realize the drama was nearly 10 years old until I came here to look at comments. The lead couple look great together and are honestly pretty funny. I laughed a lot, especially during the first episode in spite of the fact that it was utterly confusing. The plot is pretty standard for a kdrama but I didn't mind. Being a big person myself, I wasn't offended by how the characters treated the FL's fatter version because I saw it for it was, bullying.

That all changed in Ep. 10 though when the ML hypnotizes himself to see her how she used to look and honestly, his disgust and actual horror at her appearance was really, really wrong. Don't get me wrong. I am not one of those people who discounts physical appearance when it comes to attraction. I am a big person myself and I am also a realist. Physical appearance plays an important role in attraction and we are just animals after all. We see physically fit people as healthier and biologically that is what we want in order to bring healthier offspring into the world. It's just a fact of life and perfectly normal.

That said, that is NOT what was going on in that episode. The ML was physically, and I'd argue, mentally, repulsed by the old version of the FL and his affection for her wasn't strong enough to get past that. He couldn't even put aside his horror to just see her as a person, not as his romantic interest, and it disgusted me completely. That is when I decided to stop watching. It is possible that the episode moves on past that and the ML learns to get over her appearance, but I'm not going to bother watching that far. What does it say for our ML that he could get so horrified over somebody's physical appearance, especially when he's supposed to like her so much? And to make matters worse, they turned into some big joke.

It's really a shame. I was enjoying the drama.

Meanwhile, on namuwiki, it's been theorized that Jeongin's murder didn't actually happen, like it's someone's…
Seems unlikely since the police were there. So far, all the fantasies they've shown so far include 2 people that are known characters, unless they're a masked character, and that cop we saw is a character we've never seen before. But, it's a soap opera so you just never know.

I really enjoyed this a lot. It was a great, mature Thai BL with a unique story that stayed pretty true to the original novel. The leads were great and even though I wasn't really liking Up for about the first 6 episodes, he really grew on me. That funeral scene really got to me and Up really showed his skills. Poom did a great job portraying the calm and kind demeanor of Joe. He is a great actor. I hope to see him in more shows in the future. I hope to see more mature Thai BLs like this in future too.
I waited for this drama for so long and wound up dropping it 15 minutes into the second episode. It was just so boring I couldn't stand it. Another issue I had was with the relationship between the lead characters. I have no issues with age gap stories, but this relationship was more like mother/son or motherly benefactor or teacher/young male dependant/student and it really didn't sit right with me. Plus, they had no chemistry. I've seen plenty of situations like this where the mother and son had lots of platonic or familial chemistry so it must be down to the characters themselves. I honestly think that it was due to how cold the FL character is. I know Yang Mi is a great actress so I believe the flatness of the character must be due to direction and/or how the character's personality is supposed to be. It's a real pity because I was so looking forward to this drama. I wasn't going to leave a comment on it but after seeing so many like-minded comments here, I decided to go ahead and post one.

I haven't read the novel, yet, but it seems like they did a pretty good job getting around the soul transmigration aspect. Honestly, I like the drama's version more, though I do also like soul transmigration stories. Doing it the way they did is far more realistic and more dramatic, I think. I am totally hooked. So many super, super evil people. It's delicious! I hope I get to see their comeuppance.
On My Stand-In: Uncut Jun 2, 2024
The first 5 episodes were good enough to get me reading the novel again. They are doing a great job bringing the novel to the screen. I really like Poom. Aside from most of the actors in KinnPorche, Poom is the best actor in Thai BL that I've seen in any recent series. He is making the show for me. I really didn't like Up at first, but he's growing on me.

Now that the webtoon story has finished, I hope they ramp up production for this and I hope they keep it as gritty as the first season. For those that havent read the webtoon, this season will almost stand alone because it's an entirely different story from the first season. I am really looking forward to this but I suspect we wont get to see it until 2025, unless they already knew how the webtoon would end and have already started filming. I doubt that though because it seems like they just finished casting.

i agree with you on the second thing, but to add my two cents on the first is that i believe she felt more betrayed…
That's true and I did forget about those things, but it doesn't change the fact that she never told him. How can she get that upset over something he did when she did the exact same thing?
