This was so damned good. I was never bored and binged it in 2 days. The episode are about 35 mins long so they're easy to watch. The special effects were really good. Some of the spirit animals were obviously CGI, but they never distracted me or pulled me out of the story.

The story is really interesting and all the characters were well done and well fleshed out. The dedication our two leads had towards one another was maybe the most unique and refreshing aspect of this whole drama. I also really liked the moral dilemma presented between spirit masters and spirit beasts.

There were some really comical parts that I enjoyed immensely. I did notice that this fantasy drama felt a bit more Westernized than any other I've watched, but perhaps that's one of the reasons I liked it so much. I dont know. It could just be Xiao Zhan's beautiful face and smile. I swear that young man has the brightest smile in the whole universe.

I personally found the end beautiful and sincerely hope they make a second season soon, though I understand it probably wont happen for a long time. I will have to rewatch this and read the donghua in the meantime.
On Love Syndrome III: Uncut Version Jul 11, 2023
So after reading most of book 1 and learning about book 2 and all the side character stories, this series makes a lot more sense, but they really shouldn't have started with this part of the story for the series. I think they tried to make it all complete by showing flash-backs, and in a way it kind of worked, but there just wasnt enough info to fully explain what was happening and why, especially with how Itt kept throwing tantrums over cake. Having some explanation, other than a single sentence in a flash-back, would have gone a very long way in making those cake fits nowhere near as annoying.

The whole Love Syndrome universe is filled with dog blood scenes and dog blood characters. As other people have mentioned, you really have to shut down your logical thinking functions in order to enjoy any of the books. Luckily, I love obsessed MLs and noncon/dubcon so I can do that, but I can see how this series and the books would turn a lot of stomachs.

I felt like the acting was really good in some places and not so good in others. I felt like our MC and ML looked good together and acted well together but their chemistry could've been much better. I can only remember one NC scene and it was awkward. There was a towel wiping scene in the hospital that was really bad considering Day's bother and Gear were there as well. I wanted to stick my head in a hole it was so strange and embarrassing.

I'm also not a fan of universes where everybody is gay and that is definitely what goes on in the LS universe. It's just weird. Sprinkle some hetero and/or girl/girl relationships in there too to make things feel more balanced. I read that in the books Day has two male tigers that are also gay. Tell me that's not too weird. LOL! Also, I thought it was Kamol that had the tigers. Did they both have tigers?

Nan and Mac were super hot though. Totally believable kisses and the chemistry was totally on fire. I am looking forward to reading those stories, if I can find them.

In the end I found it watchable and finished the series in two days so I obviously didnt hate it. I think it's worth a watch just to see two characters that started a relationship for all the wrong reasons end up finding a way to be good to each other and be happy. Well, that and the hard bodies are super fun to look at. : )

What a feast for the eyes! This show was beautiful! The glowing towns, beautiful costumes, and music were all…
I am not sure I would even consider this a romance or bromance. It's more like a tragic love story followed by a budding new love that doesnt happen until the very end. I never really got a feeling that the two male leads were interested in each other outside of being friends. Qing Ming's concern for Boya could easily be seen as a Yin-Yang master's concern for life in general and Boya never gave off any feelings other than friendship. It wasnt until the very end that I got to see something more than friendship and it was a lot more than a bromance. And the tragic love story was a story from the past so I cant see it as a romance. It was a love story that came to an end and my goodness, was it sad and tragic.
What a feast for the eyes! This show was beautiful! The glowing towns, beautiful costumes, and music were all wonderful. I never once got lost in the plot, which rare for me for foreign dramas because I have to try to read and watch the action at the same time, but that never once happened with this movie. And I thought the story was really well done.

I share my thoughts on the romance/bromance aspect in the spoiler below.

I thoroughly enjoyed this. Binged it in one morning/afternoon. It is endearing, exciting, sad, poetic, funny, and happy. Well worth the time spent watching it.

Title The Eighth Sense Spoiler
I enjoyed this a lot and binged it all in an afternoon. I really like that I can finally see a Korean BL that…
The first thing that bothered me was the overly soft lens treatment they used in episode 6. I can guess from other comments why they did that, but I felt it was over the top and distracting.

I was really, really disappointed in the death ruse. I've seen that in a few other dramas over the years and it seriously pisses me off because it cheapens the whole viewing experience. And what's worse is that they really didnt even need to use it. They could've just used his injury without making the viewer think Ji Hyun was dead. They had a few characters come right out and say he was dead and the silent intro to episode 7 really sealed the idea. I felt tricked and cheated. Honestly, if they hadn't done such a good job at the remaining episodes, I would've written this drama off as hugely wasted effort and sorry waste of great acting and production.

I wound up giving this drama 4 stars because of the unique ideas they used, the amazing acting, the brilliant lighting and sets, and the real LGBT aspect without shoving an agenda down my throat.
On The Eighth Sense May 29, 2023
I enjoyed this a lot and binged it all in an afternoon. I really like that I can finally see a Korean BL that has 10 40-minute episodes instead of 8 12-minute episodes. The story also felt a lot more like a real LGBT story. I generally don't like mixing real LGBT into my BL stories, but they pulled it off here without cramming a political agenda down my throat. I watch BL strictly for the romance and drama so political agendas really turn me off in a big way and luckily that didnt happen here.

I also really loved the fact that they used surfing to bring the two leads together. That was a very unique approach and the story was far richer for it. I had no idea surfing was even a thing in SK because every beach I've ever seen in a kdrama had no waves. I grew up spending every summer, and eventually lived for many years, in Surf City, USA so I know what good surf looks like. Discovering SK has a dedicated surf culture came as a real surprise to me. I had to Google it to learn more and learned about something that I never knew existed. It was great.

I enjoyed the heavy atmosphere. It's pretty serious a lot of the time and I feel like all of the actors did a good job pulling that off.

There were also some truly beautifully lit scenes that took my breath away. One scene in particular perfectly outlined Ji Hyun's beautiful profile with electric blue light and it stunned me. The OST was also very enjoyable.

The NC scenes were well done and never once felt gratuitous. The first shower scene was especially good. The lust in Jae Won's eyes was palpable.

Unlike others, I actually thought the nasty ex-girlfriend worked in this story. I felt it was believable and added some additional tension for the two leads. They didnt make it too much a part of the story either which was nice.

Now, on to what really bothered me. I will talk about it in the spoiler below. If you don't want to ruin a major plot development then dont read it.

No, it's a baby voice and very irritating.

This show is weird so far. It's disjointed and the subtitles are a mess. I really have no idea what's going on. Is Ken a mobster? And the synopsis says Din is a forestry officer but his mother seems to be part of a gang. And who the heck is the Nok gang, who caught them and why?

That said, I still watched the first two episodes. I like the gritty feel but it could've been done better. The production value is too low for the gritty feeling to be played off really well, but it's passing fair. The acting is pretty so far and the chemistry between Ken and Cheng is pretty good so far. I also really enjoyed the scenes between Ken and Din, especially on the pier.

Hopefully the disjointed flow of the story will get better in the following episodes.

Title My Ride Spoiler
This was really cute! I smiled so much that my cheeks hurt. Mork and Tawan are just adorable and two, extremely reasonable people.

I thought the story flowed well and I liked the other couples. I didnt notice any plot holes, which means I got sucked into the story pretty well. It wasnt perfect. There really isnt any closure with the dentist and the creepy pedo dr at the end getting all excited over underaged girls was super random and shouldn't have been included at all on moral principle alone, but thankfully it was a tiny scene and I quickly forgot it until the show was totally over.

There wasn't any skinship between the main couple aside from two chaste kisses, but I was expecting that. The comments and summary for the novel made it very clear it was an all ages kind of story. I'm good with little to no skinship as long as the chemistry and the story are good and both were really good in the show. I kind of want to read the novel now.

Can someone also clarify something for me?
If he had feelings for anybody, I think it would be for Shi Eun, but it's hard to say. The manhwa does give off some bromance feelings in the beginning, and the relationship between Stephen and Grey definitely left me wondering if it was more than a bromance, but all that pretty much goes away after the first few chapters in the manhwa and it becomes mostly about fighting and friendship and alliances.

The acting in this is kinda stiff, but I was enjoying it anyway, until ep. 5. What the heck was up with that deep freeze scene? None of it made any sense. Boss hears that his lover is locked in the deep freeze but proceeds to knock on the door for a while before going opening the door. What did he think his lover was going to do, open the door??? Then what does our hero do? Takes him home and prays God wont take him away. Why not take him to the hospital? Seriously, what the hell? That was so badly written it was laughable and pretty much ruined the entire episode for me. Not to mention that the employees responsible for attempted murder get off with a scolding. Ugh.

Title Hit Bite Love Spoiler
First episode was pretty good. The acting isn't as good as some I've seen but much better than other's. So far, I think the story for Shogun and Ken is pretty interesting and sad. I agree with both of them really but with such a difference in opinions, it doesnt seem likely that the two could stay together for very long.

On the negative side, overall, I dont think the episode flowed really well. It was broken up a little too much but it wasnt intolerable.

Also, I freaking hate the teacher. What a perv. Seriously, the things he was saying to the students in the very first scene were way, WAY out of line, especially about how the dead boy deserved to die because of his risky sex habits. Jeez, I dont think I've ever heard something so terrible. And he obviously hates girls. He shooed all those girls away off the stairs but was super happy to see King with another boy. Then he takes away the female lead role away from a girl and gives it to a boy. Disgusting. Thankfully they didnt show him very often. I hope that character improves over time. If not, I hope they dont give him much screen time.
Finally finished this last night and while I liked it, I did get bored with it. Uk's and Naksu's characters deviated so much from who they were in season 1 that, with the short time they had in S2, there just wasn't enough story to allow the characters to come full circle. I get why they were so different, but that isnt the issue. The 10 episodes in S2 felt like the middle of the story, not the middle and the end. Stories need time to fully flesh out such drastic changes in character so that no matter how they end up, the story will feel complete and that didn't happen for me. The time jump to a year later just didnt cut it for me.

Also, the ending was very predictable and the whole idea of releasing the firebird just to kill it upon release was a real stretch for me and it felt like drama for the sake of drama and I was bored with it. The mother suddenly giving up on her hatred for Naksu also felt rushed. I guess that I feel like the story was rushed in the second season, which is a real pity because Uk, Naksu, and the Priestess characters were all very interesting and I would've enjoyed seeing things play out with those characters in another 10 episodes.

So, while S2 wasnt as good as S1, it was still watchable but I doubt I'll ever rewatch it.

Title Between Us
I enjoyed ep. 10 but I get how people could be frustrated. But, based on the previews for ep. 11, it does look like Win goes after Team and they continue to talk. Win is obviously working through some kind trauma that is causing him to hold back. I have jumped to conclusions too many times with other dramas and was proven mistaken in the end so I am going to withhold judgment on this. I suspect that we will find out why Win is so reluctant to commit next week.

such a feel good episode! Absolutely adorable and sweet! I love this show and watching it right after My School…
I just watched the latest episodes for both and was thinking the exact same thing. Both of these shows are so cute and My School President has had some really moving dialog as well.
