On The Tale of Nokdu Dec 28, 2022
This was a very good drama. It did take me a while to actually finish it. I watched the first 7 episodes more than a year ago and came back to this after watching Extraordinary Attorney Woo and totally falling for Kang Tae Oh.

While I thoroughly enjoyed this drama, it did have issues. Personally, the gluttony of the little girl really got on my nerves. She's a great little actress but that character was really, really irritating. I also found the assassination plot for the FL ridiculous in some aspects. They played it off in the end, but there were parts of it that were just too unbelievable to me.

I think the main couple had the sweetest, truest love I've ever seen in a drama. They were so darned cute together all the time and I loved watching them. They have a very natural chemistry. They joked around together too much for me to see it as passionate, but it was endearing and felt really real.

As for Kang Tae Oh as Yool Mu, well, he didn't disappoint. He was by far the hottest thing on the screen. Yeah, Nokdu was a freaking cutie pie, but Yool Mu was all kinds of firey hotness!

The plot had me guessing all the way to the end and that is something that almost never happens with a romantic comedy type kdrama. That said, I am not sure I would even consider this a rom-com. It is very, very serious most of the time. I loved all the relationships between the family and friends. They all had great chemistry together. I dont like watch BTS for dramas. It spoils the magic for me, but I heard they really showed off how great everybody got along and I can believe it. All of their interactions felt very natural.

I might have to rewatch this again now that I know how it ends. I can enjoy it better that way and pay more attention to what goes on in each scene.

I don’t think his girlfriend “broke up with him.” I think he killed her and she’s the corpse discovered…
Exactly what I thought too.

Well it's over and I have to say that I actually enjoyed it. It was cute in spite of the issues with the acting, which wasnt all bad. Some scenes it really felt like our leads were just reading lines but there were others that were acted really well and I was able to just get over the not so great scenes. Honestly, it was cute and fluffy enough for me to eventually rewatch it as a comfort BL. Plus, I just really like looking at Meen. Jeebus, what a hottie.

Ohm is proving he is a great actor after all. I love him in this. He is full of personality and his acting is spot on. I actually think he's doing a better job than Fluke, though they are both doing well. That whole Ouji board scene had me totally freaked out. Had to pull me feet off the ground and everything! The plot so far is very interesting. I am loving this show so far and cant wait to see more.

You dont need to worry about this being at all close to BL, but there are bromance vibes, though you can really…
The mention of a complete lack of female actors throwing the OP off so no, not "...out of pocket." Plus, there are quite a few comments on the manhwa online about some of the characters having a closer than normal relationship and 40+ chapters into it, there are definitely vibes along those lines. But like I said, they are just vibes and very minimal at that so it can be taken any way the reader wants to take it. Since I am a BL fan, I tend to see some of their comments as being a bit closer to lovers than loving a friend.

i don't know if i should watch it. the lack of female actors in this throws me off
You dont need to worry about this being at all close to BL, but there are bromance vibes, though you can really just see it as two boys who become best friends. I just started the manhwa the bromance vibes are a little stronger in it but still very minimal. The story is much, much more about bullying and how it can wreck people completely. The characters are all flawed in some way, especially our hero. Honestly, he is the best character I've encountered in a very, very long time.

This series was so damned good. There wasn't a thing about it I didnt like. It was raw and painful and beautiful. I got sucked right in from the very start. The characters are all a little flawed, some of them very flawed or downright evil. The highs offset the lows to deliver a perfectly balanced story. I just finished and I want to watch it again. Seriously, I think this is the best series I've seen in many, many years.
Since they are using the original Naksu actress, my theory is the wicked mother grabbed her daughter's body from the lake, and Naksu's body from somewhere, and put what is most likely a blended Naksu/Cho Yeong soul into Naksu's body. I was getting the feeling the two souls melded into one in the first season because Naksu had become kind like Yeong. Plus, didnt the grand mage guy (forget his name now) see the two souls together in the cabin in the mountains?

Anyway, I was really disappointed with the very sad ending of the first season, but if Uk and Naksu/Yeong can actually be together, I think I'll be ok. LOL!

I love this show and the acting is so, so good, but honestly, why can't they get a trailer or camera with stabilizers? And for pity's sake, can't somebody do something about those horrible wigs? Santa's real hair was sticking out from underneath his wig throughout the entire breakfast scene. It was so bad that I couldn't concentrate on the dialog and had go back several times to finish and understand their conversation. Ugh!

I knew Kim Jung Hyun was an evil jerk, but I didnt realize he was that big of an evil jerk. As if using guilt and fear to keep Cha Jung Woo by his side wasn't bad enough, he is doing all that to force CJW to be his ghostwriter. All that remains to be seen now is if that evil bastard even loves CJW at all or if he wanted to hide CJW all this time so CJW wouldn't surpass him as well as to keep him writing for him. They seem to sleep in different rooms too so I am beginning to doubt they were ever fully intimate. At the very least, it seems they were like normal lovers. Ugh. I'll have to see how this plays out, but KJH just moved into super evil territory with eps 5 and 6.

Does korn rapes knock in together with me series? But in first episode they just accidentally sleeps right? I…
The series doesnt include the violent rape scene. It's just in the novel. The series doesn't even hint at it ever happening. It's a lot tamer than the novel.

I thought the ending was beautiful. I thought they handled the goodbye very well. Everybody was very mature and I understood their decisions because they were mature about everything. I do hope they have a second season because I wasn't feeling like this was the end of the story.

I am really liking this so far. Very unique and interesting plotline. I am feeling plenty of tension and I think the ML is doing a really good job portraying somebody who is facing giving up an artistic dream. I have been in that boat and if you aren't an artist, you will never understand the depths of dispair an artist feels when they cannot create the art they need to create. It's like getting your heart and soul ripped out of you at the same time. So yeah, he'd be depressed and confused all the time.

I am looking forward to seeing how this develops. I hope that KJW's bad vibes just turn out to be concern for CJW and not the jealousy I fear he has over CJW's talent.

I also think they are already exes, or getting there fairly quickly. KJH seems a tad bit too controlling for me…
I am not sure why other viewers are having a hard time understanding the story so far. You explained it exactly how I understood what was happening. I get the feeling that the senior author plagiarized somebody's work, maybe even CJW's work, and CJW committed the cardinal sin of calling him out on it. Sad how so many people feel sorry for themselves about what happened when CJW did the right thing.

KJH definitely giving me bad vibes. Seems like he is trying to hold CJW down even though he tried to get his book published with their friend. But, I could be mistaken and it could just be KJH is worried about what will happen to CJW if he publishes under his real name.

Based on the trailer for the next episode, the two leads are still in a relationship because KJH suggests they break up.

This series turned out way better than I was expecting. It seems some people didnt like the ending, but I thought it was great. It was the first time I ever understood the reasoning behind the typical separation that happens in 99.9999999999% of every drama ever made. Kevin was still hung up on losing his ex and was afraid of that happening again so he had to go and stand on his own two feet for a while to realize it was far better to risk losing the one you love and stay with them then to lose them by choice.

I felt the acting was really good for the most part. There were a few awkward scenes and it seems that Tod isn't able to cry on que yet so he didnt have many really emotional scenes, but other than that, they all did a good job. And there weren't any spastic scenes where people act crazy and stupid and everything was discussed in a mature manner. I really appreciated that.

I think this series will be a repeater for me. I really enjoyed it a lot.

Title Love in the Air Spoiler
After what people were saying here about Sky being a character that cant cry and how in the end he would cry buckets, I was fully expecting that and yet it didnt happen. Perhaps it will happen in a special episode, but to me the ending fell really flat. I think that Peat is a good actor who just isnt able to cry on que yet and luckily, in the final episode, it seemed the director finally got the hint and they at least didn't zoom in on his fake crying so it was tolerable, but what should've been a highly emotional scene just wasn't. The way Sky told the story of what happened to him never touched me emotionally. They did a good job of telling that story through the flashback scenes and should've just left it at that and maybe just showed Pai and Sky talking with some emotional music playing instead of having us hear the story over again, especially since was told in a fairly unemotional way.

All in all, I liked the series, especially Phayu and Rain and have already rewatched just that couple's story again. It's hot stuff and they are so cute together, especially that breakfast scene when Phayu sings to Rain. It was beautifully performed and filmed.
