I had to drop this. I was completely hooked until episode 6 when the FL's over-the-top brand of crazy became too much for me. As a divorced mother of one son, I cannot imagine ever acting the way she does to her son. I get that she feels wronged, and she was horribly wronged by so many people, but that is no excuse to so completely lose your shit with, and around, your kid. I also get this is a revenge drama and over-the-top behavior is to be expected, but this was beyond the pale for me. Her level of insanity shattered my suspension of disbelief and completely destroyed any desire to continue watching.
Yeah, she likely has PTSD, as the doctor says (which was totally rude, btw. If a psych doctor analyzed me without my permission and proceeded to diagnose me, I would've had him written up.), and that may be some excuse for her crazy behavior, but the son is supposed to be the most important person in her life so again, it just totally through me.
I have read the reviews and comments that state the FL was brilliant. Well, maybe that comes later but from what I saw up to episode 6, she was a complete idiot. She was also supposed to be a very moral and ethical person but completely abandons her morals and ethics when she begins to suspect her husband of cheating. I mean, come on, she didnt even know what was going on at that point but decides to do something completely unethical on a hunch? That was her first idiotic mistake but she just continues making these stupid mistakes throughout the series and even gets herself stuck in terrible situations because of her stupid mistakes.
It really is a pity because the acting was great and the actors were all so good-looking. All they had to do was make her smarter and tone down the crazy and it would've been perfect.
I enjoyed this drama a lot and binged it in less than 24 hours. The two male leads were so freaking good-looking and they were both good men. The women, except for the FL, were all evil and conniving so they were fun too. I didnt find the ending too rushed, as others have, but I do wonder what happened to the Blue House woman's daughter as well as what happened with ML's business so I guess in a way, the ending, if it is an ending, was a bit rushed but I was still satisfied.
I do feel bad for the second ML, but not too bad because he was gracious to the end and he never seemed to want his inheritance that badly from the beginning. He only wanted to fulfill his mother's dying wish but found a reason to give up on that so that really turned out to be better for him. Plus, I'm totally OK with Yun Sun ending up with it all since she had to endure that evil man for 15 years. And they also made it sound like she is the one who grew the business so she has every right to at least half of the inheritance. It would've been nice though to hear that the only son got something but I didn't see any explanation of that anywhere.
I am curious what others think about the young man at the end. Did he want the older woman? He says he wants what she wants, but what is that? Power? Money? Or to be with her?
Also, others here mention a no skinship contract for the FL. I never saw that. Does anybody know what episode it appears in? I'm also curious why they showed the ML at an outdoor wedding with a woman walking towards him and Jin Yoo He in a wedding dress? What was all that, a misdirection or did I miss something?
Hm, and I just read the tags and it says murder disguised as suicide. Does that dream she had, in the beginning, mean the evil temptress actually pushed the husband off the ledge?
It feels abit lacking like Pam rejects noey by ep 7 and the next ep he’s like “fuck it let’s switch teams”…
Noey was always flirty with Thi even though he was pursuing Pam and he was possessive over him too. He acted like he was bullying him but he was never really bad to Thi. Getting rejected by Pam a second time was all he needed, I think anyway, to fully engage with Thi. I've seen this before in other dramas, but I think they really pulled it off well in this one.
I enjoyed this, from beginning to end. It was a bit predictable but still enjoyable. The chemistry was really good and I think that is what carried the drama for me. They did misdirect us with the beginning episode though and I really dont like that kind of thing. If the story is written well enough, they shouldn't have to lure viewers in with a lie.
This show is surprising me. A lot. Ep. 5 was serious and well executed. As an artist, this episode hit home for me. At a young age, my father told me I would never make it as a photographer so I got into computers instead. Nearly 30 years later I followed my original dream and became a photographer. Deciding to be an artist when you know damn well there is basically 0 chance of making it is extremely difficult so I completely understand the serious questions these young people are having about their futures.
I just watched this because it showed up on Gaga as leaving soon and I enjoyed it. The camera work went a bit overboard in the director's attempt at making a gritty art film and it made me feel a bit nauseous a few times, but other than that, it was a beautifully made film. As others have said, it's very short at under 38 minutes but it's a complete story. I didnt have any trouble following what was happening from beginning to end.
Personally, I don't feel like the story was portraying a problem that society has with homosexuality as much as it was society's issues with age gaps and most especially teacher/student relationships, which is something that I'm not sure should change. The power dynamic means that a teacher could easily take advantage of a student, but it does suck for those few that honestly fall in love. At 18, he is probably still a sophomore in high school so he has a ways to go before he graduates even if he is a legal adult so that makes it even tougher for them to be together, which is why I feel the ending is more open than not. Still, the ending is mostly positive.
The acting is well done and I thought the OST was nice, especially on the boat and at the end. Definitely give this a try if you're looking for a gay love story art film that is an easy watch.
Why can't I get through the first episodes of this drama without giving up on it? On the fifth episode, finally making it past the first two episodes I watched a few years ago, and Seol's baby voice around the ML is making me cringe so bad I just cant continue. I tried reading the manhwa and got so freaking bored with it that I gave that up too, but I honestly cant imagine the Seol I got to know in the manhwa as ever having a baby voice. Ugh. It's so bad.
I am surprised that I like this show this much. At first Noey's over-the-top rock-a-billy persona was a bit too much for me, but now I find it endearing. I find Noey cute in how he's always acting like Thi has a big crush on him. I also really like the main theme song and it plays over and over in my head a lot. The acting isn't always the best but for some reason, it's not bothering me. I am looking forward to seeing how these two wind up together.
I can't think of anything worse. Her whole body got burnt, she got beaten up and sexually assaulted. What more…
Yeah, 3rd degree burns over her entire body has got to be one of the most painful injuries known to man and they tend to take years to heal properly. I think skin graphs are normally used to treat those wounds and she didnt get any medical treatment at all. I can't think of a more heinous way to bully somebody and then on top of that they choked her out repeatedly, beat her up, and sexually assaulted her. In my opinion, this is the worst bullying I have ever seen, real or fictional.
I think the reveal of the 'empty freezer tray' at the morgue was meant to show that MDE was bluffing the whole…
Yeah, but that would mean that MDE bribed the coroner as well because he said that the body was still there because the family never believed it was suicide. But the murder must have moved it and I think that must be YJ but I am not 100% certain of that. I know they want us to believe it's her, but I'm not so sure. It can't be easy to move a body out of a morgue. Then there is Yeo Jung whose story must be tied in somehow and he does have the ability to move that body so now that I'm talking about this, I'm beginning to wonder about him even more.
This drama is so damned good I've binged it twice in one weekend and caught more the second time around. The green shoes especially. Since every woman seems to own a pair and we know that there was a pair at a murder scene, we really have no idea who the killer is. They want us to believe it's PYJ and that is my guess because of the booklet she asked the guy to bring to her, but who knows.
Do Young is completely besotted with Dong Eun but I wonder if he'll join her side or choose to protect his family and his image in the end. He is so damned sexy!!! I'm drooling over him in those business suits. I feel so sorry for him and his daughter. Those two are the only two truly innocent people in all of this. At least for now. Not sure how long Do Young will stay innocent.
I cannot stand PYJ. She is ugly and has an ugly, fake laugh. I love that she is already beside herself with worry and in that, Dong Eun has already succeeded. She says at some point in the beginning that she wishes PYJ to be afraid of her even if only for a minute and she has achieved at least that goal.
I am not sure there will ever be any real romance between any of the characters when all is said and done, but I am sincerely hoping that Dong Eun ends up with Do Young in some way. Yeo Jung is a bit scary. More than a bit. He is very unstable. I do hope that he ends up ok and finds some peace when this is all over but I have my doubts. The story is putting Dong Eun and Yeo Jung together at this point but I don't see it happening.
Curious if anybody can explain the story about the dead girl and the empty tray at the end. When the drug dealer, I forget his name at the moment, goes to the morgue, the body is supposedly there but when Yeo Jung goes there the try is unoccupied. For the life of me I cannot figure out why that is important.
Have you actually said you aren’t a feminist and you don’t hate men? 🤪 as if feminists hated men at all?…
I said I am neither a feminist nor do I hate men. I didnt mingle the two together. And from my personal experience with feminists, especially modern feminists, many are self proclaimed misandrists and proud of it. That doesnt mean that I believe that all feminists hate men, but I know for a fact that many do. But again, I was stating two different things that should not have been read as being one in the same.
same-sex problem?! fujoshis helping?! the fujoshis are definitely NOT going to be helping anybody who has a problem…
My thought is more from show writers and producers POV and that by adding gay cheerleaders they might hope to make it more acceptable. But it's just a passing thought and not something I really intended to spend so much time on.
same-sex problem?! fujoshis helping?! the fujoshis are definitely NOT going to be helping anybody who has a problem…
While many countries accept gay couples, many still do not, in general, and even though Thailand is becoming more open to it, homosexuality is still widely not accepted. Adding gay cheerleaders like fujoshis could easily be seen as a way to show acceptance of homosexuality by straight people.
The thing that's driving me crazy about this series so far is how the student pursues the teacher so hard but she's called the seducer. That shit has been going on for ages and is actually at the root of the Salem witch trials and so many women around the world who were accused of being witches. They just had to be pretty and catch a married man's eye. I am not a feminist nor do I hate men in any way, shape, or form, but this kind of shit truly shows how wrongly women have been treated throughout the ages and still are to this day. I watched a Korean movie based on real events where a female student was gang r##ed by male students and when charges were filed, the parents of the boys attacked her as a seducer. And this bs attitude is repeated around the world in every society.
That said, the teacher should've pushed him away with strength and purpose and she didn't do that so she isn't completely innocent. We do discover why in episode 6 and that makes her complicit, but calling her the seducer is just completely wrong and it really pisses me off.
I'm starting to feel really sorry for our poor troublemaking student. He's got himself caught up in a real mess. I am not sure I see a happy outcome here.
