Welp. That was the second worst ending I've ever seen, right behind What Happened in Bali. Giving it a 6 because if it wasn't for the way the plot unfolded in the last few episodes, it would have been all right.

His behaviour is explained, isn’t it? Shown and told. We understand when they first meet in the showers. He’s…
I think Zhi Jing hates Li Xun because Li Xun's woman is the only girl who knows that he drove that other girl to kill herself. On top of the fact that he has more talent. It's a double whammy. But psychologically I don't think he would have clung so hard to his hatred of Li Xun - even to his own detriment - if Li Xun hadn't picked the one girl who knew everything about him he is trying to hide from himself.

Even without Li Xun knowing what he did... he's just a walking reminder of his lowest weakest moment by association with Zhu Yun. On a psychological level, I mean.

>You've drawn a great deal of false inference.

Let's say you were a private person who feels highly uncomfortable divulging personal information to a public board. Imagine having an intellectual conversation with someone else about males vs females. And imagine they say to you "You're wrong about women, i would know because I am one." That forces your opinions into a corner.... unless you admit what gender/sex you are in order to make a rebuttal.

It's passive-aggressively intimidating someone into telling people about their OWN personal lives in order to counter you saying "My opinion is more valid than yours because I have lots of personal experience with it." How do you know that they don't have similar or more personal experience? Intellectual conversations should stay intellectually based, and not have to get personal.

So you might see it as "false inference" but imo my logics are working just fine.

Only dropped 0.1 rating, not too bad. Considering TTEOTM dropped by 0.3 😖
I also agree it deserves at least an 8.7, it was so freakin epic

Someone suggest me drama like this were the leads have great chemistry, romance, understanding, love etc! Such…
My Fated Boy was not exactly the same type of romance, but the kisses are NOT pecks!!!! I'm pretty sure the last-episode kiss in MFB was a french kiss, but it is kind of hard to tell. It sure looked like one to me.

Again, I'd say to you what I said to the other person who responded to me: You've set up a false argument by bringing your personal experience into it, because it would then force me to have to divulge my personal life and experiences to a public forum in order to rebut what you're saying. It is a personal policy of mine that I will not be bullied into sharing my personal life with a public forum just by being challenged by someone saying "I'm right and you're wrong because I have lots of personal experience with it". That forces the other person to have to share their personal life in order to challenge your assumptions. I don't play that game with strangers on the internet. Why would you start a pissing contest over who knows more about gayness just because you don't agree with my theory? Just say you don't agree and stick to facts.

I'm fine with people disagreeing with my theory, after all it's just my opinion. People can have varying opinions. I don't take it personal. I still say he was gay and in pathological denial of it.

Projection generally means you see in an outside situation what is really going on inside yourself. So are you calling me a closet gay? Or did you mean that in another way. If I have a theory, and you disagree with it, that's fine I don't mind at all. It's a pretty out-there theory I know. But if you just tried to call me closeted because you don't agree with my theory, then I don't need to be involved if you're turning it personal. But I just am not clear on if you meant it that way or not.

Fang Zhi Jing has a different set of issues, he hates LiXun because it reminds him of his own guilt at the horrible things he's done in the past. So different psychology.

Also Fang Zhi Jing didn't take his obsession as far as Jian Hong did. And Zhi Wei's obsessiveness is love-hate whereas Zhi Jing's obsessiveness is pure misplaced hatred. I mean Jian Hong was desperate to get through to Li Xun even on what he thought was his deathbed. That's major obsessive attachment... imo more than just rivalry.

>"seen tons of gay content, lives gay, and this ain't it"
you don't know anything about my background, yet you are implying you're more qualified than me to judge the validity of my theory. It don't work that way. You've set up a false argument there where in order to re-validate my POV, I'd have to divulge personal information about myself on a public forum. I never get personal in public just because I've been challenged by someone. You can't bully me into bringing my personal life into the conversation. However, you're not more qualified than me to judge, and that's as personal as I'll get with strangers on a public forum.

Again, this is just my personal theory. I'm not attempting to iterate it as fact.

IMO he's obsessed because he's in love. When gay guys are in denial about it, they will absolutely 100% date women and even marry them, because they're driven to prove to themselves that they're not gay. They can end up being extremely hostile and obsessed with the man they're in love with because that man poses the biggest threat to his egoic self and the biggest threat to the image he's cultivated about who he is. He represents a crisis of personality. It's made even worse by the fact that the man he's in love with is straight. And if you look into the relationship he has with the 2FL, it's kind of portrayed as a somewhat strained and cold relationship. It's all classic closet-gay stuff.

If you like dark/antihero/morally grey ML's this one is hard to beat. If you drop, you're gonna miss out on some…
tysm! some of those I've seen but some I havent. I've been avoiding GMP because I heard it doesn't end well, and idk if I really want to go there, but I keep considering it. Someone else recc'd me Rise of the Phoenixes the other day too.

TTEOTM was GREAT imo, some super firey scenes in that one. I didn't give it 10/10, but I rated it really high.

I am constantly looking for more/better Dark ML romances... what are your top reccs for that? I feel like I've seen everything, right now I'm actually watching Fashion King because apparently he's an "Antihero ML", and it got a really dismal MDL rating, lol.... but still I watch.

imo, no
I wrote a comment about it somewhere above this conv... but basically it can't decide if it's a comedy or a drama and tries too hard to be both and not hard enough to be either one, it just struck a really cheesy and over-the-top and confused tone. The ML and FL go from mild flirtation to old married couple really fast and there's nothing in between... on top of that they lack any fiery spicy chemistry together onscreen. So not much "romance" in this romance. The couple gets plenty of screentime, but it's all kinda flat imo. I was in it for Yu Ning because he was so HOTTT with Lusi in The Long Ballad, but this was not Yu Ning's best role. I think he's fitted for more tempestuous dramatic roles and this one was sort of corny, and he's playing the foil against a "strong female lead" who takes the piss out on him all the time and it doesn't make him look sexy just goofy and cute.

Also it was SO DRAGGY omg. I fell asleep multiple times, there were episodes that worked better than a sleeping pill for falling alseep. There are 20minute long battle scenes, tons of memory montages etc.

The 2ML and 2FL= they took a really hot interesting guy character and a really REALLY super duper awesome charismatic FL and then wrote them a loveless marriage together. A real romance scriptwriter could easily have made that into a very spicy-sweet storyline, but they decided to ignore their awesome possibilities as a couple. Just why.

It's just so blah. I think anyways. The ending doesn't evoke any other emotion than "What?!?! Welp, I guess that's over."

I think the best things I saw this past few months was Story Of Kunning Palace and Hidden Love. If you haven't checked those out, either of them is far far better than this trainwreck.

Again, just IMO though. Everyone has different tastes.

You should probably create your own Human being since you think she looks weird. BTW, get a placard/sign that…
This person shared their opinion on a public forum and you promptly jumped down their throat and accused them of having a dark heart. Who's the real hater here. You should be ashamed of yourself for becoming unhinged and histrionic just because someone doesn't share your opinion.

Her fish like lips annoy me. She just looks weird
Her "chinese baby girl" routine is absolutely awful. Way too over the top and disturbing. I used to just try my best to overlook it in the dramas I saw her in, but now I just skip them entirely, watching her try to be coquettish is like torture.

Title Intense Love
Made it to episode 6 before I couldn't take any more and dropped it. I have seen this FL in other things, and her "chinese baby girl" routine is SICKENING, she does it all wrong. It's a "woman chases man first" romance, and that's often fine with me, but in this one it's more like "woman shamelessly throws herself at completely clueless man", and it's undignified af.

Plus, she's not the only one doing the "chinese baby girl" thing, the ML's little sister does it too, and hers is equally disgusting. ML has the personality and EQ of a friggin doorknob. And the dubbing is BAD. Also there appears to be no overarching plot. It's just completely awful.

I have read that the FL is terrific in this. Can somebody tell me if she lives till the end?
I thought the FL was not bad. Not the best, but def not the worst either.

Come on, come on! It's wuxia. Lots end like that, and everybody did not end up being sent to other plane of existence…
Lots of wuxia ends like that, but lots of wuxia DOESN'T end like that too. I don't think you can console people who don't appreciate that kind of stuff by saying "well you should have known".... just warn people who might be interested that that's what you're gonna get if you watch, so they're mentally prepared and can skip it if that's not their cup of tea.

Basically everybody dies.
You're talking abt weak females, fairy tales, gushy sentimentality, hearts and roses, but all I'm saying is there wasn't much romance in this supposed "romance" and that imo there's no chemistry between the leads. :P

I'm totally cool with other people having other opinions, but you don't have to strawman me in order to have a differing opinion. I thought SoKP and TTEOTM were straight FIRE, and there's nothing gushy or weak-female or fairy tale about those romances. Being sentimental is not necessarily my idea of "chemistry" or "romance".

In a romance, I look for fire/spice/kilig/passion/intensity. This one was just too goofy and flat for me personally.
