I am a grown up and I hate grown up clothes. Maybe thats one of the reasons I like this drama 🤣
I was rl telling my aunt last night, she said she liked a business proposal and I said to her, ughhh I hated that show, I HATE pencil skirts. And what I hate even more than pencil skirts is pencil skirts and synthetic blouses and power jackets!!! That's why I didn't like Love Is Sweet either! Business casual attire and cardigans with midi skirts aaaaghgh!
I still wear barettes and sundresses with pants. I bet if you saw me in the grocery store you'd be like 'tsk-tsk... just look at that sh*t.' I don't care, nobody's ever getting me in a rayon blouse and a cardigan! I'll be wearing hoodies with boots and little poofy skirts and pink barettes when I'm 85!

i watch shit i don't like all the time, just to say i watched it. i'm like a cinephile so I often torture myself on purpose. When I do that, I like being able to come to the MDL page of the show and vent. As a huuuge fan of this show, I hope you feel welcome to express yourself openly without getting attacked for it. And I hope you get treated nicely here.
Some show's fans are so hostile it's just unreal. (ABAY, lookin at you...) But some shows have very nice fans (L&P, SOKP).
I had a bestie all through jr high and high school who actually had such similar facial expressions to Esther as Mumu that it feels a little bit eerie sometimes. And my bestie who kind of looked like Esther was super super cute on the outside, but on the inside she was WICKED funny. Absolutely hilarious.
So i'm cool with it, for this show. It's funny because with Esther, when she goes hard on her baby schtick, I can barely watch. For her, I'd call this a "medium" level. My condolences that your having to basically eat pancakes with WAYYYY too much syrup here.
I've had some unpopular opinions about shows before. I hated L&P. I thought LBFAD was mid. I despised ABAY. I got curbstomped in comments.
Am I seeing a pattern where lots of the shade for this show is coming from accts that the watchlist is almost all k-dramas?
I see a few people who watch a blend of c- k- or t- dramas and don't like this one. But I also feel like I'm seeing a lot of k-fan shade?
I just wonder if some k-watchers caught wind of the insane hype and jumped the fence to watch a c-drama, and are judging this drama by k-drama standards when normally they don't ever watch c-dramas so the culture shock is partially what's making them think this drama sucks when it clearly doesn't? Like for instance the FL babydoll thing, that's so not k. The lowkey humor instead of over the top humor is very un-k as well. Just as a few examples.
I have three episodes left to catch up on, I'll watch them tonight when I get home. So far, I like it, but it's…
(this coming from someone who gave bon appetit your majesty a 10) 😂😂😂😂🤣
please don't be mad, i couldn't resist. it's all in good fun for me, i don't get salty when people don't share my opinions on things. Honestly, though i SO don't agree, deep down i don't mind that you find it mid.
me too! Esther's chemistry with Heyu is on a different level, I can't explain it in words but this I never seen…
I think some actors throw themselves completely into their scripts and let themselves be more vulnerable in front of the camera when they know the drama's gonna be a total banger. And give less of themselves for shows that are just because they're obligated to do them for one reason or another, but have mid scripts, costars, or directors.
can we all talk about jiang mu wardrobe I MEAN I WANT IT SOO BADD
some of what she wears is do-able, but some of it is coture i'll never be able to afford. I loved the corset top she wore with the brown outfit.
Other than the wacky shoulder-pad suit jackets i could live without (that He Yu doesn't wear thank god), I love the way the stylists are dressing everybody.
why can't i bookmark a comment, i dont want to clicky linky until after the show is over, i don't want to spoiler myself on anything but after it's over i want to see whatever you posted.
He Yu is a so handsome. I'm kind of shocked I didn't know about him before. WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?
My Fated Boy is in my top 10 all time fav shows, I recc it to people kind of often. It has a really good script and He Yu is so fire in it... I'm fairly sure there's a french kiss scene in the last ep of MFB too.
if you want a lot of yearning i reccommend Lighter and Princess, the FL is also very mature and talks and acts…
You saw The Rose?!?!??! I'm always the only person who saw that in like every conv i've ever had on MDL lol. And it's in my all time top 10. But no one's seen it but me! It's one I almost never recc to people because almost no one I run into can handle the fury of the badness and the goodness and the twistedness and the lo budgetness. Total total masterpiece.
I did watch Tree of Heaven, gave it a 7.... I remember I loved the way it started out and evolved, and just hated the ending like crazy. Old school k-dramas, so much crying! Also that FL, I'm not a huge fan, she might have dented my viewing experience, she's the one from Goong, right?
