This was apparently the day the actor who was supposed to play the doctor got the flu, and the assistant lighting technician had to fill in for him at the last minute
After finishing the whole series, I have to say that I expected so much more. The Leads were well chosen and played…
My sentiments exactly. I'm on ep 37, and when THAT happened to 2ml and 2fl, I'm like ok I'm done. For what reason would I finish this without them. I don't even care about the last episode.
Every time he's in a scene, it's hard for me to think about anyone else because he's so charismatic and such a good actor. I hope his career takes off like crazy, he deserves it. <3
it was such a pleasant show, i don't understand people's ratings here sometimes...
I found it only mildly pleasant. Sometimes what I don't understand is the jacked up ratings for SK shows. My Demon is sitting at an 8.3, that's completely preposterous. It was absolutely terrible.
My personal rating system is 0-5 for shows that actively make me mad that I watched it and I want my time back. 5-6 for stinkers. 6-7 for average shows that are not bad, but somehow not totally satisfying. 7-7.5 for shows that are good, but not ever going to be a rewatch for me. 8-9 for things that are not perfect, but so good they are potentially rewatchable. 9-10 for things I would (or do) actively rewatch and liked a lot.
So I gave this a 7.5 because I thought it was decent, thoughtful, and not-bad. But I would not ever rewatch this one, so I can't give it an 8 or above. I wouldn't rewatch it because I don't vibe with A) An enigmatic ML in pointy high heel shoes and frilly clothes B) An FL who worries about stuff and second guesses herself a lot and C) Interpretive modern art, cool/neutral color palates, modern architecture, avant garde fashion. Overall the drama didn't fully engage my interest.
But to give it credit, the original didn't fully engage my interest either, and I gave the original a 7.5 as well. But just for different reasons. In the original, I didn't like the ending, and I thought the FL was hard to get behind. idk if it was because she was miscast, or just that the character as written is not very sympathetic to me.
But if I HAD to watch one of them again, it would be the Korean one, because to me it's more believable and less 'artsy for the sake of being artsy'. It gets right to the heart of the plot and the characters, instead of being coy and indirect and vague.
I try to always do a review that doesnt give a synopsis, so that people who want to go into their shows blind can still do so after reading the review. I like luo zjeng, and i say so up front so of course its biased, i make no apology for it.
Only people who are watching under fangirl glasses, think it is good. Busy defending this drama because their…
Catholics and christians have been insulting eachother's religions since 1520. Shiites and sunnis have been insulting eachother's religions since 600. Russian Orthodox and catholics have been insulting eachother since 1050. Buddhists and Hindus have been insulting eachother since 500 BC. This concept is nothing new.
Maybe because they're boring?I personally find disney orginals better
I liked k-dramas a lot better before disney and netflix and other big money players got involved in the k-drama industry. Some of the best k-dramas are older ones. Newer k-dramas feel like they've had the soul sucked out of them. Sometimes a k-drama is still good, but you have to wade through more crap these days to find one good drama, imo. Too much production value, not enough emphasis on good scriptwriting.
Koreans literally turned a psycho dude into a SIMP in BAYJ, demons/ devils/Goblins etc into SIMPS , so I don't…
One of the reasons I switched from watching mainly k-dramas to mainly c-dramas is because I love dark romances and "dark" k-romances never go dark enough. They insert cuteness and humor where it's not needed and/or de-fang dark ML's by halfway through the show.
y'all comments are always the same... "it's so boring and I only watched the 1 episode." huh??? so you…
I agree that the way MDL lets users rate shows so fast after they've just dropped is messed up and skews the ratings.
But I think it's unfair to bag on people who don't like shows by saying "how can you say it's a bad drama if you didn't finish it"....
...because I tend to finish everything I watch, good or bad, and if I watch all the way thru a drama and think it's bad, often in the comments I'll get attacked by show's fans and they say "Why did you even finish it if you hate it so much, just drop it and move on."
If you don't like a show and want to express that, you're honestly damned if you do and damned if you don't.
I just finished one of the best dramas I've ever seen in my life, and it had the same problem with mysterious and suspiciously low rating as soon as the eps started releasing, felt like it was rigged. And because of it, this completely amazing work of art STILL sits at a 7.9 even though it kicked so much ass. Some dramas land on MDL with this invisible weight attached to them that they can't shake unless like 10k people watch the show and break whatever algorithmic bullshit is rating dramas before we even get a chance to watch them.
This was such a good watch. But I cannot get over J-C-K-dramas almost always making a way out for truly despicable…
Venting students = it's a japanese cultural thing that when you're experiencing deep and conflicting emotions of lovehate, you say "I hate you" and that means "I love you".
They also do this with the scene of Taiga and Manami at the school gate. This is the student's way of saying 'I actually really liked you a lot'. But that gets lost in cultural translation. That's why she's crying and saying thank you, b/c students are actually saying I love you.
Despicable parents = but it's true to life. If you've had to be family with one of these narcissists, or borderlines, you know that when everyone cuts them off, they suddenly apologize and say I've changed. And it's hard not to believe them. It's called hoovering, when you've gone No Contact and then they start "sucking" at you trying to pull you back in.

lolll ikr....

Because they're telling her "I really loved you as a teacher." They're just saying it in a very Japanese way that gets lost culturally in translation.
