I know what you mean. When posing that question, I started to think about what films were important to me. The short list came up just that, short; my first entry would be Lawrence of Arabia, though. With so many years ahead to spend with films and other media, I wonder how our perceptions will change. That's an exciting prospect in of itself.
Ah, Can We Love? I rather did enjoy it, though the writing started to get slightly shaky near the end. Thankfully, everything I enjoyed about it was kept consistent, so the issues only brought down my score a bit. If the ending had been tighter, I think I'd have given it a 9, instead of a middling 8.
Loved Sweet Fuse, though I found some routes stronger than others. Somehow I totally fell for the opposite of my "type," including the teen idol and the stoic cop. That was seriously refreshing, since the same type of characters can get stale. ->

That makes sense. My own password isn't what I would describe as difficult, but I've got dozens of them, so...paper is my friend, also.
Hearing about your 1001 films, I'd kind of like to see what else you'd select. Your taste in cinema is impeccable, honestly. Do you keep them on a list, or only in your head? :o That's the feeling I got off of Matsuko as well, though the tragedy stuck to me. I wanted to do as her friend did, try to get to her, give her work, anything. At least in the end, Matsuko returned "home," which is all she seemed to want. Just talking about it is making me emotional again. :,)
Ah, these look like fun! After checking out the plots and character listings, it does feel like they've got an imaginative spin. Which of them would you recommend most? I've been wanting a new otome game lately after finally finishing the final routes in Sweet Fuse.

That system sounds much different to what we had here. More difficult, too. Is that the standard for all years as well?
Somehow I just imagined Daniel with a giant fish biting his head, anime-style. This conversation made me realize, though; there really aren't that many despicable leading men in this type of story. I can think of a few, like Mr. Willoughby and Wickham, but rarely are they serious contenders for romance as in Larkrise.
By the way: have you enjoyed Laura's or Dorcas' prospects better? For my part, I think I just preferred Dorcas as a whole more, but....

Hello again! It really has been a while, right? I've missed chatting with you. How have you been? It almost like I've summoned you back by watching Memories of Matsuko, haha! I'll enjoy the faux power trip for a little while, yay. XD
I loved the film. Your words on its page summed up my feelings very well, actually. Though, I feel I might need to watch it again someday; it knocked me for a loop that it was as much of a musical as it was. About halfway through, it finally hit home what kind of film it really was and it made me cry. A lot. Seeing it again might improve my opinion enough to give it the full 10.
Ah! That sounds very fun. What titles have you been playing?
Thank you so much for bringing this topic to MDL, Cheer! While I've yet to start Ashita Mama ga Inai, I've loosely followed the controversy surrounding it as covered by the Dorama World blog. The situation definitely sounds sticky, to say the least.
Unfortunately, it's surprising how many people can be misinformed by media (whether it's meant as entertainment or not). It's easy to say, "This is just a television show," but how many will take it as undeniable fact anyway? Taking that into account, the reaction of those organizations is somewhat understandable. Image means a lot in Japan, as in many other parts of Asia.
With That said, it's deeply unfortunate how the offended parties handled the situation; calling for it to be removed from the air, forcing writing changes, pressuring sponsors, etc. The aggression is a little much, and only brings down more attention.

It could affect her grade so much? D: Our grading systems here were thankfully somewhat lenient, though in highschool the percentage difference between passing and failing was about 10% @_@
I know right? Much as I like Laura, she frusterates me sometimes. Not to say I wouldn't fall for a gorgeous man; in P&P I'd always choose Mr. Darcy over Bingley, for instance... haha~
So happy to see the new picture! He looks much more like himself in it. :)

Oh my, chemistry. That class drove me crazy, what with all the math. And I had an evil teacher, my god, did I have an evil teacher. After that class, I had hoped to never hear of the subject again, other than discussing romances. Luckily, I never needed to take chemistry; there was no way I was going into the sciences (because I'm so, so bad at them). XD
That is unusual. Though I feel like interest in history might blossom with age though. Especially with all the neat documentaries being produced nowadays, haha.
They do right? It's like the cuter they are, the more jerk-like they become. We're talking about Daniel, right? That character kind of polarized me, and I ended up changing my mind on him a lot. He's probably the best looking one out of the lot, in any case. <.<
But yeah~ The established couples are just the best. I just want to bundle them all up. XD

With as much money as these agencies make, they ought to send their idols to acting school (if they insist on them appearing in dramas). I've always felt that even an untalented person can learn a skill. Those kids might never be, say, a Sakai Masato, but at least they wouldn't embarrass themselves. Oh well, wishful thinking, ne?
Ah, Inspiring Generation is decent? I really hope the monetary issues clear up soon, then. I might start it if it's actually allowed to complete. That time period is rather unique, and I can probably live without Kim Jae Wook. Probably. XD
But it's funny you should mention love interest confusion. I only began Chuno this afternoon, but I'm already having that exact problem. The narrative suggests one pairing, but others have tons of evidence themselves. I might just stare at Jang Hyuk and Oh Ji Ho, and just forget about it altogether, haha.

Ah, they like him also? I figure they'd enjoy White Chapel well enough, then. Rupert plays the primary character and detective, a very complicated man. The more I watch him act though, I've noticed he's always in costume or part of law enforcement. XD
It seems like a marathon kind of weekend, yeah? I'm feeling a little nostalgic for Larkrise lately, chatting about it again.

That pace isn't bad, actually. It wasn't long ago since the first one released; if that kind person keeps the pace, they might catch up to the broadcast.
So bad they make you angry? The last time acting pissed me off, I nearly wore down my teeth with the grinding. My condolences, Cheer. Hopefully, the two annoying you most aren't also making moon eyes at one another. There's little worse than "romance" between two people who can barely read their lines >_o How do you like Inspiring Generation? I'm still a little wary, since my interest came and went with Kim Jae Wook.
14 Days might be incredible if they can keep this up. I confess my primary worry is how they'll explain the time travel. Lee Bo Young seems improved from Equator Man, though Cho Seung Woo steals the show.
Definitely pick up WnKnT! It's seriously amusing. I mean to pick up S too, but after the Fukuie torture completes. XD

Mm, definitely! SHK tends to put out at least one film a year, though dramas are more rare. I'm a bit spoiled in that, honestly. For instance, I couldn't imagine what Won Bin fans go through waiting years for any project at all. o:
Ah! Secret Reunion? You won't believe how many times I've passed that film on Netflix. XD I'll probably give it a try soon, then. Sometimes I get so picky with films I accidentally skip interesting ones. Thanks for the recommendations!
Yup! My brothers are more skilled in the language today than I am, though; they were less lazy than me. You have an interesting heritage too. Perhaps you'll want to learn the language in the future; after all, it's never too late to learn new things.
Glad to hear you liked it! That film felt unique to other similar ones. Did you know? The leads are dating in real life, and were during the film XD Must have been crazy on set.

Oh, certainly. Almost all Taiga subbing groups have been excellent to date. Funnily enough, it seems like they're always different people though. I can just imagine them breathlessly finishing the final episode, then throwing over their desk in liberation, in hopes of never seeing another Taiga, haha.
...The other half is AKB48? Oh my gosh. o_o Isn't the plot like a fight club-ish sort of thing? Do they at least all beat each other senseless? That would be worth it. XD
Other than what I'm currently watching? On the Korean side, probably You're All Surrounded and God's Gift. From Japan, I'll probably pick up Lost Days, S - The Last Policeman, Watashi no Kirai na Tantei, and Ashita, Mama ga Inai. Honestly, I wish I had skipped Fukuie and gone with The Last Policeman to start, but we all make mistakes >.>

Great to hear. Hopefully, that person won't get too overwhelmed. Long subbing projects seem daunting enough as a group, but alone...? Yikes.
I still like Yae no Sakura, though it doesn't hit quite as hard as Shinsengumi! or Ryomaden to this point. In those, I'd wanted to rush right ahead and finish the whole thing in one sitting (which is madness, of course, haha). Having read up on Yaeko's personal history, I can see where the story might take a disappointing turn.
Welcome back, then! Nothing like shaking off a slump. Just don't let the Johnny's boys scare you off again, haha.

They're great, right? It always amazed me how passionately people can feel about actors and actresses, while reading these guides. There are actually several actors I wouldn't mind writing for, including Tamaki-san, but also Shin Ha Kyun and Uhm Tae Woong. Looking back, I've seen almost every major film with Ha Kyun to date now, and with two more films and one more drama, it'd pretty much be complete. Which makes me a little sad, haha. ;-;
Kang Dong Won... I don't think I've ever seen him before :o After looking him up, though, he's pretty cute. Which of his works would you recommend? You've seen many of them freshly, I assume. XD

Mm, same. I was already familiar with Japanese culture, but becoming acquainted with China, Taiwan, and Korea too was crazy fun. The one I completed was Friend, Our Legend. It's a remake of this gangster film and aired in 2009, just before Secret Garden. Hyun Bin's acting in it was just incredible. :o
