This was a fine drama. I just get so sick of poor interpersonal skills being used to create extra drama. If you're going to run out and risk your life, you should probably talk to your romantic and work partners first about what's going on... ya know?

It's everywhere. You can find it pretty easily.

Since this hasn't ever dropped, I found and read the book. Holy cow, it's really good. ... ... would make a great drama. It's called "Sha Po Lang" and you can find it anywhere if anyone's interested.

This... makes no sense. I didn't figure out exactly who the bad guys were until like episode 41. Finding out exactly who they were was the only reason I was watching after a while. Unless you are superfans of some of the actors, or just completely bored out of your skull, I would suggest giving this a pass.

This is very late, but in case anyone else is wondering, it's Bi Wen Jun.

She's too short, she's too thin and frail, she's way too feminine, she chooses distinctly feminine men's wear.... but saying all that, I still enjoyed her in the role. She's a pretty good actress.

This is like the 4th Cdrama I've watch in which the actor who plays the "bad guy" pokes at and generally messes with a live bird in a small cage. STOP POKING THE BIRDS!! Like their life didn't already suck, having to live in a tiny cage. No need to make them anxious and agitated in their small confines.

The novel it's based on is a BL (boylove) novel. China really frowns on same-sex relationships and censors them in the media. This is probably caught up in same the censorship>>edit and reshoot>>censorship>>edit and reshoot loop that Immortality is.

That's the first scene on Viki too, but it's just a kind of pre-view. That real scene doesn't happen again for a few more episodes.

So... just before starting this drama, I finished "The Imperial Coroner". I couldn't believe how amazing everyone's communication skills were. The friend group talked things out, the two romantic pairs talked things out (except for the totally acceptable coquettishness at the beginning). In fact when they didn't talk things out, there were immediate problems, that were pretty easy to solve because someone finally spoke up. It was sooooo adult and refreshing.

This drama is like the opposite of that. The three work-friends don't talk to each other.... or trust each other much. The two romantic pairs don't talk to each other, even when deciding on life changing or possibly life endangering situations. This is just extra drama for drama's sake. It's so childish and annoying.

Dear TPTB,
Please make more dramas like "The Imperial Coroner" and fewer of the poor interpersonal skills ones. Please.

That's some... interesting costuming. I hope the camera does some magical filtering to make those garments look less plasticy.

The Cantonese dub is frickin' awful. Everyone sounds so ANGRY. Tubi and TVBAnywhere/TVBAnywhereNA both of the Mandarin audio.

I don't usually say this a lot as they tend too be way too cringy with their comedy, but I like the comic relief trio of motor taxi drivers in this drama. They're kind of adorkable.

Just saw Semantic Error. She's really pretty. Like crazy pretty.

I so wish this was a thing so I knew which of these to totally skip. I hate dumb "innocent" female leads with the power of 1000 suns.

I never found Murong Li irredeemable. This is a revenge flick centered around him. He never promised anyone anything, and in fact was pretty cold to all the men that fell for him. He was smart, patient, and strong. He wanted his kingdom back and was willing to work for it and did work for it using the only thing he had, his face.

I don't agree with you about the SML. He wasn't sweet. Even in the beginning he was jealous of the ML's relationship with the FL since they were kids. He held that in his heart for years. He was a typical "nice guy" who is all smiles to your face and holding all he felt inside.... just waiting to burst out and hurt everyone. The FL told him several times and in several ways she wasn't interested, but wouldn't take "no" for an answer. That's not sweet.

However, the SFL and the two MLs... what the?? Why? Why did they trust her over and over? She lied every single chance she could. She was manipulative and horrible. I never understood why they seemed to get along with her and follow her.
