Song Ling is who Ye Tingyan was originally until he face swapped with He Ye and took on a new identity. From what I gathered He Ye was described as basically a NPC character with no significance other than to serve as the face for Song Ling to take over. Insider sources originally said back in June that Linghe was supposed to play both Song Ling and Ye Tingyan, and now he's not anymore. Even if he was aware, Linghe is correct in announcing himself as Song Ling since technically they're both one entity, but the fact that the production team didn't even credit that version to his name makes it look very shady and set off alarms that this version of his character is completely taken over by WHY. And according to novel readers, Song Ling plays a significant role in setting up the story as he was the "white moonlight" of the FL and other important events.

Historically, two actors who play one role never turns out well because it always causes chaos in arguments of who is the better version, especially by those toxic trolls who wish to do harm to specific actors. As a Linghe fan, that's one headache I do not want him to deal with, but here we are 🫠
