I'm appreciative that although China considers this drama a “flop”, it shows that it’s still doing well if actors are able to gain a large number of new fans. From what I’ve seen, anyone who actually watches this drama hasn’t had anything negative to say.

This drama has benefited SML actor Xing Ze nicely as he has gained over 100K Weibo followers since its premier. He began with less than 10K.

Haha yea, whoever they used as the editor for this drama should never be used again. Some of the shots they used of DYX instead of the extra version shared by his studio were not good at all.

From what I've seen lately, they shifted the blame mostly onto the producer, Wang Yuxi, for being dramatic and escalating the situation. Majority still recognize that he's very good at his craft, which is rare nowadays for most idol drama actors. However, they still knock on his looks though, saying he isn't up to the usual standards for a ML. Some of the things they say about his face is pretty savage, but some defended him saying that his acting makes him better looking. I think this role is the best he's ever looked and in his next leading role in Yongye Xinghe, he looks even better.

You can see DYX's dedication to his role. He's still completely in character even if it's just rehearsing, even adding in the magic sound effects for realism. It's a BTS of when XY was hanging on his back.

I think he doesn't want CK to expose the truth about him being the real destroyer of the realms and not CH. There's also the prophecy of CH being resurrected in 1,000 years looming and CK is connected to it.

You know, it's odd that they highlighted so much of the parents in the 2nd life to not really bring them back up again. If that was all they were there for, they could've used all that screen time on building the leads' chemistry and love story instead and people wouldn't have complained about it dragging in the beginning.
