If you do like watching xianxia in general (because some don't so they're less tolerant to certain aspects of it) then I'd recommend giving this a few more episodes a try before giving up on it if you have time. For a lot of us here who's been sticking with it since the beginning, we feel the drama becomes better and better as it progresses. Even I will admit this did start out rough and am highly enjoying it now.
How is this rated at 8.3? I couldn't even get past episode 2 and just hears a scathing review of someone who tried…
To be fair, that reviewer isn't generally a fan of xianxias these days to begin with. So I don't think her opinion is representative of everyone who does like this genre. Funnily enough, someone a few comments down was just asking "Why only 8.3?"
highly recommend, that's a good drama. my avatar is from “Back from the brink” 😂😂😂
Is there a certain point where it hooks you? Most dramas have that. I've been trying for months to get past episode 3 because I find my mind wandering.
I read the novel and loved it. But I can agree with you too. There are certain things in the drama I dont like…
Does Qilin have any significance in the novel? The "shadow lord" wanted to get rid of LCK because he's supposedly a Qilin. I think this will tie into their 6th life's tribulation. He also referred to himself as "ben zuo" so he's definitely someone high ranked.
Does Qian Ren seem a little too interested in XY? Anyone else getting that vibe? When XY first arrived he appeared…
I hope they explain if CK recognized him as JL. That seems like an important point to gloss over. I know the whole "mole changing appearance" is a joke, but I still need confirmation lol.
Do you mean the headdress she was wearing in the 2nd tribulation when she was supposed to marry the prince? It…
It's a marriage she did not willingly want to participate in so the tackiness contributes to that symbolism too. Her whole wedding outfit down to her make-up were not good. Her wedding outfits during other scenes with the male lead looked much more pleasant and well designed. Maybe that's just me reading too much into it lol.
#11 first time seeing such an overly and crowded crowning for a royal wedding. Looks more like a 花痴 woman
Do you mean the headdress she was wearing in the 2nd tribulation when she was supposed to marry the prince? It looked overcrowded and was symbolic of the weight bearing down on her due to the situation she's under. On the opposite side, the place surrounding where she put in LCK's hairpin was light and bare.
I will pray hard that they'll solve it quiet and fast whatever the issues are 🙏 if not, you know antis soon…
It's kinda crazy because it'd be beneficial to have a sense of unity for the promotion of your own culture to build up your own country's creative works rather than tearing each other down to see others fail.
- The reason for the postponement today is due to copyright infringement claims by fans of the CG anime The Legend of Qin. It appears that the sword that Shifu used that was shown during his cooking in the kitchen is an exact replica of a sword shown in the anime. Their fans compiled photo evidence of the original sword from the anime for comparison and sadly it does look very much alike. - There's also another claim that some of the lyrics from A-lin's OST copied lines from one of the anime's OSTs. - The anime's official account has come forward to say they recognize this and said that no communications were had between both sides in regards to usage permission of music and props. Their legal team will be involved to take action. - A staff member from the drama's side came forward to apologize and said that he bought the sword from a props shop in Hengdian because he thought it looked cool and would be good for the drama. He said they had scanned it twice for copyright infringement prior to use and did not come up with any result so they thought it was okay to use. - A lot of the anti-fans are also using this chance to jump in and bury the drama even more. It was already struggling and just started to slightly gain momentum again yesterday and then this happens. They've had no hot searches appeared since airing and when they do it's about plagiarism 😞 - So now it's up to how the lawyers work this out and if the anime's side will play nice. I'm crossing my fingers that they resolve this smoothly and we will get our update tomorrow like they said we would.
I was going to wait till this ended but I want to be part of discussion here, so  Is it worth starting?
Everyone has their own taste. You can try out a few episodes and see if you like the style of it. What’s good to someone else might not be to your liking, but I will say the romantic plot doesn't really pick up until the end of episode 12.
Honestly I’m not a fan of the whole “loved each other 30k years ago but forgot” plot and that the FL is…
It’s probably the safest route they can go given how easily triggered the censorship bureau is. Either that or risk your drama being chopped up to pieces or never see the light of day. From what I heard there are parts in hell in the novel? If so, then that’s banned from being depicted in dramas. Maybe there are other things they know they aren’t allowed to show either. I noticed in today’s episode that two very tiny parts on the back of Chukong’s wheelchair were blurred out. That’s how ridiculous it’s become.
@mochou_u - I would share on twitter but I just deleted my account a couple of weeks ago. Feel free to share if you want!
