So we got three more parallels to 2nd life today. Giving of hairpin. The hairpin heart stab... last time it was XM and this time it's CK and temporarily passing her over to XM. If these events repeat in the 4th life, will they finally notice it? The death scene should be the third parallel, but that one's obvious since we all knew that was going to happen.

If you do like watching xianxia in general (because some don't so they're less tolerant to certain aspects of it) then I'd recommend giving this a few more episodes a try before giving up on it if you have time. For a lot of us here who's been sticking with it since the beginning, we feel the drama becomes better and better as it progresses. Even I will admit this did start out rough and am highly enjoying it now.

I'll probably continue it when I have some time since I do like both the leads. I just wasn't getting hooked into the story yet.

To be fair, that reviewer isn't generally a fan of xianxias these days to begin with. So I don't think her opinion is representative of everyone who does like this genre. Funnily enough, someone a few comments down was just asking "Why only 8.3?"

Is there a certain point where it hooks you? Most dramas have that. I've been trying for months to get past episode 3 because I find my mind wandering.

Does Qilin have any significance in the novel? The "shadow lord" wanted to get rid of LCK because he's supposedly a Qilin. I think this will tie into their 6th life's tribulation. He also referred to himself as "ben zuo" so he's definitely someone high ranked.
