Yeah. I really loved the look she had in the trailer that they released. Surprising to me that the new FL has the same hairstyle, too. It suited Bingyan so much.
To add that it was supposed to be a reunion drama for her and Xueyi, too.
Sometimes, I'd be living my life then one day I would remember the scene where Xu Feng gifted a part of Jin Mi…
Also, YZ's amazing performance as Jin Mi when she woke up after [ redacting ] Xu Feng? Amazing. That was a girl that got whiplashed by her own feelings, the devastation. The loss. The grief— feelings that Run Yu suppressed by reconstructing the Unfeeling Pill. Against her own wishes and without her knowing.
And people still tell me that Run Yu was a good guy? No.
Sometimes, I'd be living my life then one day I would remember the scene where Xu Feng gifted a part of Jin Mi to Sui He before asking her hand for marriage. That one scene still boils my blood because the audacity! The entire dialogue in there was so painful to me that I ended up crying at work because I was watching it during lunch hour.
When Jin Mi squished that petal in her hand... when the snow turned into blood and then Xu Feng clutching his chest because that part of her that she killed was already attached to his life line— that was grotesquely beautiful.
AOL was my first c-drama and I thank everyday that it was. It's a good introduction to the xianxia genre, too.
She deserves a better ending. Everyone, asides from Zhao and the nanny, failed her. Her mom. Her good for nothing husband. Her mom in law. Her death ended up being the karma for Xingyue and Tingyu's shortcomings. She was too good. Too pure. She deserves a better life and it ended so quickly. She wasn't even able to get the family she wanted. 😭
How to get your girl by woo-ing her dad, Song Mo version:1. Get someone to send an explosive to his carriage on…
How to spend your first night as husband and wife, Dou Zhao's version: 1. Present an ancient PPT of the incoming conflict right after telling him to look away when he saw you undressing behind a curtain divider.
How to get your girl by woo-ing her dad, Song Mo version: 1. Get someone to send an explosive to his carriage on his way home, then become the knight that would save him just in time. Also make sure to accompany him with your army! In gold armor! And that he has a good look at you!
Already on episode 16 and I'm really glad that she really is becoming a woman of her own with Zhao's little tricks. I enjoyed the part they changed the marriage divination result 😂
Tingyu isn't any close to Wu Shan but at least they're not the same people they were in the OG timeline.
“MY PRECIOUS LITTLE SUNSHINE” IS A CRAZY COMBINATION OF ENDEARMENT TO CONSOLE SOMEONE WHO YOU CONSIDERED TO…
So crazy to me that Song Mo's thinking about marrying the girl he only talked to for thirty minutes— in a mask— when Zhao is right there. They had deeper conversations and he's aware that she knows how to read him well but is still suspicious of her. They literally match each other's political-strategic freak!
My guy, you really are amateur at romance and emotions. I feel so bad for you. 😂
“MY PRECIOUS LITTLE SUNSHINE” IS A CRAZY COMBINATION OF ENDEARMENT TO CONSOLE SOMEONE WHO YOU CONSIDERED TO BE SUSPICIOUS. OH MY GOD SONG MO. YOU'RE GOING INTO DANGEROUS WATERS. (I WAS GIGGLING SO HARD AFTER)
Finally gave in and decided to watch this show. Now, I'm on episode 6 and liking the political drama and slowburn quite a lot. (And thank goodness, it is being done right!)
Before I get my heart broken because I really like this innocence of Dou Ming in the new timeline, is she going to turn as evil as she was before or not? 😭 I really want her to change for the better because it seems like she was just (or going) to be a product of her mom's abuse and Dou Zhao's ex (in the future)'s stupidity so I need to be spoiled for this one right now. It's just that I kinda ship her with Wu Shan with the very little scenes they have. So I need help with this! 🙏
Anyway, aside from that, I still like the entire drama. Perhaps, them not having a kissing scene is actually great to me because I feel like with someone like Fu Zhou or Ziqi, kissing scenes are... not necessary. It makes their relationship pure and I think that's what attracted me to their relationship. It doesn't have to be always about kissing! I've rated it 10 when it was still airing, and it will stay a 10 despite the last two episodes!
Left this when it was airing when it was only 2 episodes left because I saw the reaction first before the show…
Finished it and..... well, that was something. They tried to do some type of time loop that didn't quite make sense and the open ending didn't even answer anything I was looking for. They had such a good run but it took two episodes to the end to ruin it all. 😭 I feel so bad. They had a good momentum. Such interesting characters and storyline! I would've liked it if Ziqi actually died after defeating RW the first time. That the Apocal Power would somehow revive them but it would cause for MM to die on the story instead. For Ziqi to somehow find out the system and meet Fu Zhou and realize that he created that world for her. That he's the one who'd do a reset! It's not like she had anything going to her in the real world anyway. What the hell. 😭
Left this when it was airing when it was only 2 episodes left because I saw the reaction first before the show itself, and was confused about everyone saying the ending was bad.
Decided to binge watch again for two days to see it whole and I finally understand the outrage.
Because why is the last 20 minutes of episode 31 so confusing? I was literally so lost at what was happening. Did I miss something? Why was Mu Qingshi suddenly there? What happened to Miaomiao after she declined the back button? What changed when they defeated the RW again? HUH????????????? I hope the last episode answers it for me but I'm already convinced that the initial reaction when it was airing is truly making sense to me.
Maybe the comments on WeTV was right, for our mental health, we should've ended the show when they were eating together on New Years Eve. 😭
Ziqi was so freaking glorious with that curly wig, though. The transition from black to white hair was chef's kiss. And I do love the difference between Lin Yu's, Qingshi's and MM's speech pattern. They literally feel like three separate people.
Rewatching (again) and it's still timeless. I'm really— really!— glad that they started the entire story during the God Realm arc because they did an excellent world building that translated towards the Immortal Arc, then to the Third Arc. You know what the characters are referring to, and then it gets you hyped when you find places that once belonged to the True Gods.
The excitement of seeing the Gudi Sword recognize Houchi, Taicang Spear appearing at Mount Lookout and then hearing Hongri's voice again. Tianqi showing up again with Zihan still on his side. Even the Pilgrimage Hall!
Most Xianxias go straight to Immortal Arc that it doesn't hit me just as much when they start at the middle. The payoff for the revelations doesn't hit me just as much (and my example to this is LaR). I want a proper world building. I want to know who these characters are before they got reborn. I want to know how things worked before shit went downhill that they lost their memories of the past.
Their love story hits the hardest when you already know why they ended up being apart in their current timeline. That's exactly why everyone was so eager for Qing Mu and Hou Chi to remember who they are because of their past relationships with Tian Qi and Gu Jun. Why their separation becomes even more painful when we lose Qing Mu to a version of Bai Jue that we don't even recognize.
Why seeing Hou Chi get hurt by him makes us want Shang Gu to avenge her and Gu Jun because we know she's the only one who could put him back to his place.
Anyway, this is why I love this drama so much. The tension and the payoff was built so well because we familiarized ourselves with the characters from start to finish. We didn't deal with crumbs of flashbacks. We were fed in a banquet hosted by Shang Gu.
Lovely Runner getting so many nomination for Baeksang Awards. Hopefully, we get to see them together again! So very happy for all of them. Mondays are really Lovely Runner's lucky charm.
