I watched this 4-5 times. This drama and Bai Jing Ting so good! I love his huge strong hands. Looks like a martial…
I have yet to see a Bai JingTing drama that isn't good. He disappears into his roles; he literally embodies his characters. For example, when I started watching Reset, I didn't recognize him at first though I had just finished You are My Hero. Not to mention, he's equally good in modern and historical dramas. I'm especially looking forward to First Frost.

Have you watched Eternal love https://kisskh.at/16547-eternal-loveTo me, it’s the OG!
Good recommendation. Both Blossoming Love and Eternal Love include "peach blossoms" in their original Chinese titles.

why did the rating drop?
Some MDL time travellers went ahead to the future to see and rate episodes that haven't aired yet.

Yes, but does it mean I am a cis male or identify as male? Or, maybe I'm non-binary/transgender and only using the term "guy" as a (gender-neutral) colloquialism.

I don't currently live in China, so I'm not sure about recent "prestige " dramas. But a classic example would be
"Empresses in the Palace" (aka "Legend of Zhen Huan"). It was originally exclusive for the Chinese domestic audience. But due to its popularity in China, international streaming services (Netflix, then Amazon Prime) picked it up a handful of years after its nationwide release. This C-drama is 76 episodes long. Netflix didnt think its international audience would have the attention span for it, so it condensed the entire series into 6 ninety-minute segments (the length equivalency of only 12 episodes). Needless to say. Netflix literally butchered the series. As a response to Netflix's (& AmazonPrime's) decision to dumb things down, China's LeTV uploaded the complete series (with English subtitles) on YouTube three years later.
This is a good starter course for someone who's interested in investigating a classic "prestige" C-drama, but may not be proficient in Chinese language, history, and culture.

I didn't list my gender. It's entirely possible that the profile's default position is "female." That said, maybe I'm cis male who identifies as female/non-binary or vice versa. Or, I could be transgender. Last but not least, I'm just using the term "guy" colloquially, as in the gender-neutral: hey. you "guys!"

Basically, you're saying you live in a country that demands something you don't necessarily have. If you're not saying you're humble, why bring up that you live in a country where humility is more important than breathing? Doesn't that imply you have trouble breathing?

Privileged access, not privilege. Learn the difference.

You're obviously smarter than the rest of us dummies. Why are you wasting time watching dramas when you could…
Of course, you didn't say you were smart. I said it. Or, at least I said you're more smart than the rest of us dummies.
What makes you think I'm mad at you for your opinion? I don't particularly care about you or your opinion.

Don't deflect with politics. But since you brought it up, I am not a fan of Zionism. And, I know more about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict than you do about Chinese culture and dramas.

Getting back to C-dramas, I'm not talking about genre, but type ("prestige" vs "idol"). You cannot possibly have an opinion about "prestige" C-dramas if you don't understand (Mandarin) Chinese, assuming you even have privileged access to view them in the first place.

Yeah, you respect Chinese culture so much that you think you know all about it just because you have a few Chinese friends. Here's the thing, if you have to convince other people of your humility, you're not as humble as you think you are.

If your friends are talking about the looks of the actors, they are obviously not talking about "prestige" dramas, which are cast based solely on the skills and talents of the actors. The dramas which involve good looking actors are known as "idol" dramas, which are completely different. These are the ones that are available to the international audience. Unless you've seen C-dramas with no subtitles (or only Chinese subtitles), you have no idea what you're missing, let alone what you're talking about.

There are plenty of "prestige" dramas that have no subtitles or only Chinese subtitles (for the hearing impaired, those more comfortable reading than listening, those who speak different non-Beijing dialects, etc.). I highly doubt that your friends are sending you these types of dramas, assuming they could even get access to them outside China. And even if they have been sending these dramas to you, how exactly would you understand them if you don't know (Mandarin) Chinese?
The more you speak, the more you reveal your lack of cultural sensitivity and understanding. Having a couple of Chinese friends (who apparently don't even live in China) doesn't make you an expert on China or its dramas. I have plenty of Spanish-speaking friends, but I'm not so arrogant and delusional to think that I'm an expert on Spanish and Latin American culture. And I bet I read, write and speak Spanish better than you know (Mandarin) Chinese, which is nada. I definitely know English better than you: "if China do [sic] that than [sic] i don't know, it's possible they [sic] putted [sic]..."
Seriously?? China "putted"?? Is China playing golf or something?
Hint: "put" is an irregular verb and it isn't "putt."

How do you know all Chinese dramas are available to international audiences? Do you read, write & speak (Mandarin) Chinese? Don't assume famous internationally is the same as famous domestically. You do realize that there are online (social & other) media platforms that are only available in China, don't you? Even TikTok has its own original, separate Chinese version, Douyin.
Are you unwittingly or willfully ignorant of contemporary Chinese history
and
culture?
