It's (back) up to 8.2 right now. Once the starry-eyed romantics weed themselves out, hopefully this drama will resume its rightful mid-eightish rankings.

Most MDLers don't care for C-dramas with little or no romance. Their loss, I guess.

Ok, I'm not sure why you dug up an old thread from a month ago. In the meantime, you could have easily done a quick google search yourself. But since you don't believe me, maybe you'd believe the Pew Research Center: "Ten states and the District of Columbia have foreign language graduation requirements for high school students, 24 states have graduation requirements that can be met either with foreign language classes or other non-language coursework, and 16 states have no graduation guidelines concerning foreign language education." Other sources, including American Councils, confirm this as well.

Well, the rating just moved (back) up to 8.0+. Who knows? It could drop down to 7.5 or something tomorrow. You're right; it is ridiculous. Not to mention, random.

It's hard to take MDL ratings seriously. How on earth does a drama's rating drop half a point in a day?

How dare Chinese entertainment companies try to make money! The cast, crew & staff should just volunteer their services for your entertainment value.

The former is perfectly legal; the latter is not. Not only is the latter illegal, but also it isn't even ethical. Save your righteous indignation for something more appropriate. Because your virtue-signaling is neither original nor warranted.

d) Last but not least, you've yet to provide any shred of evidence that CY's glory days are behind him. One drama & five episodes of another do not remotely count as sufficient evidence. Your complete silence on this matter (which, by the way, you initially brought up yourself) speaks volumes.

Despite your personal opinion, this CY drama currently rates 8.5 on this platform. Not great, but well above average. Not to mention, MLC only came out a couple of years ago & received a 9.0.

If, as you say, CY's "glory days are over," this hardly counts as evidence for your claims.

And why did you bring up WoF & tell people to watch that instead? Hardly relevant. But if you wish to compare, S&B is slightly higher rated (at least on this platform). So your opinion is contrary to the collective opinions of other MDLers. Maybe you think your opinion carries more weight than everyone else's. If so, why?

For what it's worth, I appreciate both & don't feel the need to be divisive. But you do you.
