In ep 1 we learned that the author of the antique book wrote “My dearly beloved, if you were to read this someday, may you come back to my side.” In ep 4 we learned that the king is the author.
So is this the second time that she’s time traveled back to him?
You can smell that she gets banned from the palace, has the king’s baby without telling him, dies, and yet somehow travels back to modern times and goes to a museum exhibit featuring him?
Your sense of smell must be even better that Gil-Geum’s. 🙃
The acting in Bon Appétit, Your Majesty is mediocre at best. What’s keeping this show afloat isn’t the story…
People can get a good idea about the content of this show just by reading the title. It should not be a surprise to anyone that there are a large number of scenes that feature food. If the food aspect doesn’t interest you, why would it take you 4 episodes to decide that you’re not interested?
When a drama receives lots of positive attention worldwide there are always people who have to leave negative comments here. You have the right to voice your negative opinion but it seems foolish that it took you 4 episodes to discover that this show with a cooking premise is not your cup of tea. You don’t even like the main cast’s acting. It’s past time for you to cut your losses and move on from watching this drama. There are a wide variety of dramas that might appeal to you. I wish you luck in finding a drama that will interest you.
Who thought this slice-of-life drama should have 20 episodes and then decide to split it into 2 seasons?
Season 1 ends abruptly without any conclusion. When will season 2 be released? People will forget all about this drama if season 2 isn’t broadcast soon.
according to wikipediaIn a first time, she was a concubine of King, granted the title Suk-ui (숙의; 淑儀),…
You looked up history but this drama is fiction and is based on a fictional work. It’s a time travel rom com. Any resemblance to actual or real people is coincidental.
And I like both. It would be boring without the romance. I have no idea why so many people keep writing that it…
He associates good food with fond memories of his mother. She was truly the last person in his life who loved him as a person. He lost his mom when he was young so he longs to find the same comforting feeling of acceptance and support that he had back then. He has no sexual feelings towards his dead mother, he just yearns for unconditional love.
first time in my life i don’t want to start a drama just because the title is so ugly.
??? The Korean title translates to “The Tyrant’s Chef.” The English title BAYM means “ enjoy your meal, your majesty.” She’s a chef forced to cook for a king. The title describes the plot. Why do you think it’s ugly?
It's very much giving Mr Queen. But either this will have a very sad ending, or he'll be reincarnated and they…
Mr Queen was a gender swap drama. The main premise was that the soul of a modern day male chef was transported into a Joseon era queen’s body. That’s not the premise for this drama.
Only 2 episodes out of 12 have been released for BAYM. We’ve only just seen the very beginning of the story. It’s way too early to second guess the ending when we don’t even know what the relationship between the FL and ML will become. I’m hoping that this drama won’t be as predictable as some people believe. For now I’m going to relax and enjoy the journey that this drama will take us on.
It’s interesting and technically not bad but it’s really bothering me who the ml is. They’re making him…
It’s a time travel fantasy so historical accuracy doesn’t apply here. Maybe the screenwriter wants to show how the FL completely transforms the ML who is/was a walking red flag. It’s a common trope in dramas.
If you mean the pancake wig worn by the court ladies, I have the same question too. They seem to be prevalent…
Women’s hairstyles during the Joseon era differed by class and also by marital status. Women royalty wore more elaborate hairstyles than nobles or lower class women. The hairstyles for married women were different from single women. Here’s a link to an article about the different women’s hairstyles during the Joseon period.
In the first 2 episodes of this drama the FL hasn’t changed her hairstyle into one like the Joseon era. She’s kept her hairstyle modern. She’s worn her hair down but also fixed it into a low ponytail with a scrunchie or into a messy bun when she was cooking in order to keep her hair out of the way.
is it in another time period? I mean women do have different hair styles from other historical kdramas?
It’s a time travel drama where the chef is mysteriously transported back in time to the Joseon era. Although the king in this drama is fictional, his character is roughly based on a king who reigned around the year 1500.
As people get farther into adulthood age differences don’t matter very much. In school you are surrounded by people your own age but after graduation you work alongside of people with a wide range of ages.
Also, as long as both parties in a relationship are above the legal age of consent, why should other people judge the appropriateness? There are a lot more important red flags to be concerned about besides age differences.
do anything but don’t make this one ending same like moon lovers 😭😭
One of the genre tags on this is Comedy. This should be so much more fun and lighthearted than Moon Lovers. Don’t let your worry about a potential ending affect your enjoyment of this new series.
Nope, the ML with the most screen time is Yoo Joon Sang. He plays the head of the agency and a father figure to…
I forgot to mention that if you’re looking for this to be a typical romance drama then you will be disappointed. It’s a story about what has happened to the FL’s life and career after she left a singing girl group several years ago. It’s a quiet, slow moving slice of life story that can be healing at times. There is some potential for romance for the FL, but it hasn’t really happened in the first 8 episodes. There only 10 episodes in this season.
Nope, the ML with the most screen time is Yoo Joon Sang. He plays the head of the agency and a father figure to the FL. Within the first 8 episodes Kim Jae Yeong’s character has a crush on FL but she doesn’t realize it yet. The romance part of this drama is very slow to develop.
So is this the second time that she’s time traveled back to him?
Your sense of smell must be even better that Gil-Geum’s. 🙃
