In an historical context most females weren’t told about what goes on in the palace. Back then they thought royal politics was something men dealt with and females dealt with things concerning the home. Of course from a modern day perspective that’s crap. Women are just as smart and capable as men.

Yeah, just placing her lips on his wouldn’t do a thing for his breathing 💋 but I was was concerned she would break LYN’s ribs or sternum.

SYM had excellent aim in episode 26 when she was throwing rocks at the bad guys. 😁 She’s not a stereotypical delicate FL who always needs protecting.

Maybe she was extra mean in order to get him to leave her alone forever. I’ve seen that type of scene in dramas before. She cried as he walked away so she does have feelings for him even if she doesn’t realize it yet. Plus she didn’t know that he was whipped with 60 lashes and his title was taken away.

Did she go overboard with her cruel comments? Yes. I cussed at her for being so mean to him. But I’ve seen spoilers where later in the drama she makes him laugh and brings some much needed happiness into his life. I’m still willing to hang on until we get to the happy couple stage in this drama.

SAME. I disliked him from the start for many reasons.

He’s the one character in this drama that I hope doesn’t get a redemption arc.

In the beginning of this drama many people on here commented that CGH was a better romantic partner for SYM than NH. I haven’t seen anyone on MDL try to defend him recently. I wonder if they dropped this drama or they’ve realized he’s not one of the good guys.

Not everything in this drama is about LYN’s struggles against internet hate. The first episode may have used some of that for satire, but this drama is not all about actor Liu Yuning. ADWAD wasn’t specifically written with LYN in mind. He was cast in the ML role and had some creative influences.

I feel that an excellent drama includes character development for more than just the two main leads.

In episodes 25 and 26 more of the characters are starting to show signs of awakening and growth. SYM is starting to have feelings towards those around her and is treating them like real people instead of just characters in a drama. Yimeng’s dad has developed a backbone and told off CGH after realizing that he’s no longer the good guy that people thought he was. Yimeng’s stepmom is becoming nicer towards her. CGH has become more evil and obsessed with getting back at NH even if he has to fabricate evidence. Even the much hated Emperor is beginning to slowly show hints that he may not be as morally wrong as we’ve thought.

The excellent acting, directing, screenwriting, cinematography, and even the music make this a top notch drama.

I like that there’s more to the plot than meets the eye. Nothing about this drama is as straightforward as it seems. To me 40 episodes feels right.

Besides, after this one ends I’m afraid of going through a good drama drought. LYN isn’t filming any new dramas currently and there’s no upcoming dramas that I’m really excited about.

I agree with everything you mentioned except for the part about the emperor. I hate that he appears to be cold and cruel to NH but I get the feeling that there’s much more to him than what’s been revealed so far. The emperor a master at hiding what he’s actually thinking.

In the original script that she read the FL fell in love with NH too quickly. I’m glad that she’s slowly developing a deeper relationship with NH since she transmigrated.

Besides the kiss I really appreciate that SYM gets NH to laugh and be playful. He needs a little joy in his life.

Also in episode 1 of ADWAD when actor Nan Feng loudly put his phone on the table they’re making fun of the haters that accused LYN of slamming his phone down during a promo. Actually LYN just put his phone down normally but the multiple microphones of the press amplified the sound and made it seem louder than was intended.

I had that kind of trouble with the app yesterday. I don’t know if it was just a random glitch or if the site is overloaded.

From what I’ve heard LYN got a lot of hate from antis while AJTL was being filmed. They said he was too ugly to be the ML. They created lies about him being too demanding and attention seeking.

In episode 1 of ADWAD most of actor Nan Feng’s demands listed by his agent are what the antis accused LYN of doing. For example demanding that the drama be all about him, demanding exactly what the drama posters should look like, etc are what they accused LYN of doing before AJTL.

Of course there’s no truth to what the haters were saying. From everything I’ve seen LYN is very hard working and is well liked by his fellow actors because he’s very supportive and genuine.
