The show’s type of comedy won’t please everyone. The humor is a bit OTT and forced at times. Some people prefer a more subtle type of comedy. The current 7.9 rating is still a decent rating on MDL.

I first saw him in SWDBS where he played a very memorable OTT character. He seems to stand out in what ever role he takes on. Recently he was in A Virtuous Business. He definitely wasn’t playing an idiot or using OTT comedy in that show. I like him as an actor because he can handle many types of roles effectively. He seems pretty versatile to me. Of course, everyone’s taste in actors differs.

This show is one of the many enjoyable modern kdramas (and cdramas) that have aired in 1st quarter 2025. I hope the rest of the year’s modern dramas are just as good.

I simply offered an alternative point of view for potential viewers reading the comments section about this show. Tastes differ among viewers and each individual who watches this romcom will make up their own mind about the show.

Typical romcom that’s fun to watch. Nothing new or thought provoking but it’s entertaining.

This is a romcom so it’s not that serious or realistic. The writers use standard kdrama tropes but I think the cast makes this show fun to watch. Viewers don’t have to think too deeply when watching— they just need to relax and enjoy. Some of us need a break from real life and this type of drama lets us escape from everyday pressures for a few minutes.

The FL has probably been typecast so she gets offered similar roles over and over. She does a good job with what she’s been given. The ML is only 23 irl. He’s picking age appropriate dramas right now. I expect his acting career to continue for a long time.

But that’s the whole premise of the show. Did you read the synopsis of the show before starting to watch it? I find that it saves time if you read the MDL plot summary of a show. If you dislike the synopsis why even bother to watch a minute of the show? There are plenty of shows out there that you will like, you just have to do a little reading first to find one that seems interesting to you.

The kiss was in real time, not slow motion. That’s the way a romantic kiss is supposed to be.

We got a passionate kiss today and in episode 10 you’ll get your wish for a bed scene (but it will probably be rated G).

Thank you. Your explanation makes perfect sense on why we’re having to wait a lot longer for Viki to release dramas. I agree that in the past the 97% translations worked great for most dramas. Viki’s new very slight translation improvement is not needed especially when it causes long delays. The longer wait for dramas to drop on Viki is annoying and makes it almost impossible to avoid seeing spoilers.

Thanks. I was using my iPad and just refreshing didn’t change anything. I’ll keep your tip in mind when episode 10 comes out tomorrow.

It’s not out on Viki in my region yet. I assume they’re still working on subtitles.

edited to add: It finally dropped in my region. So it appears that there’s about a 5 hour time lag between when it airs in SK and when the subtitled episode releases.

Does anyone know what time Viki will release episode 9?

Viki used to release kdrama episodes within 2 hours of airing in SK but lately they’ve been releasing episodes really slowly. (Like 12 or more hours later)

The romance tag is highly inaccurate for this drama. Dong Jin had a crush on Mi Jeong when they were in school even though they didn’t interact. Later he became obsessed with her and stalked her, but that’s not love.

You can’t love someone that you know only superficially. Sure, he knew where she lived, what her job was, what groceries she ordered, and that she fed stray cats at 2:30 in the morning, but that’s all surface stuff. He didn’t know her thoughts, opinions, wants or desires because they never had conversations.

He was infatuated and obsessed with her, but that’s not the same thing as love. Stalking someone is not romance.

This drama could have been much better if the pacing wasn’t so uneven. The first several episodes seemed to be repetitive and drag on and the last 2 episodes seemed to rushed and skipped over several key plot points.

The second couple’s story line appeared unexpectedly in the last episode and took time away from the main leads story.

I thought he was about to be hit by the white truck of doom in the final few seconds of episode 8 but the last two episodes seemed to skip over it. The story went from a cliff hanger at the end of episode 8 to picking up in episode 9 with her looking at the flash drive with photos of her home that he gave her. What happened— was he hit or not?

To me controversial doesn’t necessarily mean a heated discussion. It just means something that is not as clear cut as expected and becomes open to debate. ✌️

But due to special programming like sporting events, political unrest, or natural disasters episodes can get postponed so that only one episode airs in a given week. The OP of this thread merely asked if two episodes would air this week and evidently it became controversial. That’s MDL for you.😁
