wait... 2 episodes this week? or is the countdown off?
Your question is understandable. This drama is supposed to have 2 episodes per week but I watch on Viki and episode 5 was posted a day late. Currently Viki doesn’t even list the episode 6 release date so there can be some confusion based on which platform you watch on.
is there any love triangle? any clingy sml/fml who act all nosy in between of the main leads?
This drama focuses primarily on a mystery. The romance genre tag is misleading. There are only 10 total episodes and within the first 6 episodes the main leads haven’t even spoken to each other face to face.
Yan Heng called Xifan selfish just because she wanted to improve her knowledge by studying in Switzerland for…
I was addressing your second paragraph where you stated “I know he loves her but…”.
I don’t think Yan Heng loved Yifan at all. When you love someone you want them to be happy. Yan Heng was always concerned more with his own happiness. He acted in a condescending manner towards her and everyone else who didn’t have the same monetary worth that he had. People with money aren’t better than anyone else. Having a big bank account doesn’t excuse treating others rudely.
The Best Thing is a romance drama. Perhaps the whole purpose of Yan Heng in the drama is to serve as a complete contrast to Dr He Suye who is always concerned about other people’s health and happiness. Dr He treats everyone with respect and doesn’t value rich people above everyone else. He could be making more money being another type of doctor like his father, but instead chose to have a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr He Suye realizes that having a large bank account isn’t what’s most important in life.
You know what I fully empathize with Yan heng as well despite what he had done. He might've been too confident…
Yan Heng called Xifan selfish just because she wanted to improve her knowledge by studying in Switzerland for a year. He broke up with her via text message and completely ghosted her. He showed up about a year later when it fit into HIS plans. Yan Heng only cares about what HE wants and what will make HIM happy.
It seems like this whole website is obsessed with ratings. It’s bizarre.
Honestly, I’m really happy that people are still free to discuss whatever they want to about a drama on MDL. (Of course hate speech and name calling shouldn’t be allowed but that’s what the report button is for.) I don’t agree with all of the comments and discussion points about dramas on MDL but I’m usually pretty good at scrolling. When I want to read heavily moderated/restricted or censored discussions about a drama I go to the kdrama subreddit.

People also come to MDL to look at the comments, ratings and reviews. Some people choose to start watching a drama based on the ratings here. If you only use MDL as a site to keep track of which dramas you watch there’s no need to look at the comments section.
forced breakup by longlost trauma they suddenly share. not again 😭
From the preview for episode 10 it looks like their time apart will be short. No long drawn out breakup seems very positive to me.
This show has some of the usual kdrama tropes but handles them in a mature and straightforward way. They avoided a miscommunication/lack of communication trope and a noble idiocy trope in episode 9. I’m impressed with the writing and pacing of this drama, and of course the casting is great.
I could have sworn there was a screenshot from SBSs Twitter account about it but I can't find it now and I don't…
I like that the SBSNOW twitter account calls the show My Perfect Secretary. ☺️
The SBSNOW twitter account has pinned a preview for episode 10 but doesn’t list a broadcast date. They have not announced anything about Episode 11 yet. I suppose they are resuming their Friday & Saturday schedule unless otherwise notified. (I’m trying to avoid watching episode 12 all by itself next week so to be safe I should probably wait until February 15 to watch the last 3 episodes together.)
I’m so confused about the release schedule for the remaining 3 episodes. Last week I read that only episode 10 would be available this week. I just read the episode guide here on MDL and it says we will get both episodes 10 & 11 this week. Does anyone know the actual schedule according to SBS?
This MDL page for WTPR had to put up with so many trolls and hate because of the Netflix mistranslation. Netflix very slowly and quietly corrected their mistake but the damage caused by their error still exists.
Why is Viki skipping epi 9? After 8 the next episode is 10. 6 days away
I had no problem watching episode 9 on Viki yesterday. Viki didn’t skip the episode.
Due to the SBS network changing their schedule only episode 9 was released this week because of lunar new year. Episode 10 will be the only episode released next week because of a sports event. The final two episodes (11 & 12) have been delayed to February 14 & 15 by SBS. Viki has to follow the SBS release schedule.
They're only postponing it because of the lunar new year, viewership would be low during that time. They are likely…
SBS knew about lunar new year when they originally scheduled this drama. Does the postponement mean that the drama ratings are much higher than they expected?
I'm really loving how this drama is shot. Such an eye candy. The pacing is also beautiful. I'm really enjoying…
I agree that the cinematography is great but I think this should have been a 2 hour movie. There’s not enough plot or character growth for a 12 hour drama.
Many of the viewers are dropping this drama because they see no progress and have become frustrated with the FL character. Dealing with difficult individuals in real life can be exhausting so many people don’t want to watch a 12 hour drama where the characters are extremely frustrating and there seems to be a lack of hope. The viewers who drop this drama are practicing self care.
Am i the only who understands the FL like she has so many bad memories with the place and shes contantly fighting…
Her behavior would make sense if she was a teen but her character is 32 years old in the drama. Instead of trying to overcome her hurtful past and focus on her own happiness she wallows in her misery. She makes everyone else miserable too. Other people have had rough beginnings but they choose to move on. She shows no character growth so far and the show is half way over.
I’m so excited that this is coming to Viki around March 13. I don’t understand why this drama wasn’t available for international streaming before now.
Thank you Viki for obtaining the streaming rights. And thank you to the team who will be doing the subtitles. (I have only watched this drama on a purchased dvd set and the subtitles were poorly done. I’m looking forward to proper subtitles now. Viki subtitle teams are very good because they take their translation task seriously.)
TL;DR, there’s no love triangle.

That’s NOT love.
