Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective! [1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest…
Hahaha - yes, we are obsessed but I love how we are discussing it all. You are right - Gabriel heard it on the scene as the officer. But Idk I was just creating the backstory - as this could be a possibility - you know them hearing the pleads.
Lets see how it all unfolds - excited, but its only just Monday - AARRGGHH!
Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective! [1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest…
1. Satan is worse - like he is worse than a demon. Demons even if they kill sinners or are supposedly bad, still have rules and order of some sort. Satan is rebelling which is why he was banished from hell, or escaped - because they got greedy. Which is why they don't have any rules and are just killing mindlessly.
The reason I feel they are killing innocents - is like a taunt to the Heaven and Hell and ruling parties there - God/Lucifer etc. Like look what I can do with my power and you cannot stop me from killing people who believe in you.
2. I don't think so - they were just killed but will have to check. They were brutally murdered - like hacked/chopped which kind of showed what kind of twisted person the killer is. Not sure if that is counted or not? And Ep 10 - when Daon's mother feebly asks him to run away and draws attention of the Killer J to her - we can see the act, he is not simply killing, but in rage literally chopping etc.
3. I think the police arrived - and which is what made the Killer J flee rather than going after Daon. Why this happened and if it happened - I think could be cause of his mother's wish that Gabriel somehow answered. Basically a bit of divine intervention - since the mother definitely was a believer - she is shown wearing a cross even if her face is not shown, plus Gabriel (as old lady) tells Daon that he has been looking after him as per his parent's wish (in the episode he meets her in the basement room). So somehow the plea of the believer was heard by angel Gabriel and so he made the police rush. This saved Daon.
So some divine power helped the mother in a way to save Daon, making Killer J/Satan flee - in action: police arrived.
And Gabriel had to leave after this so he ensured the prayers were answered - and therefore made the female police officer become foster mom for Daon.
Even if Gabriel was not there, in a way Daon was protected. Like Killer J did not get a chance to kill him. And I have a feeling something happened to Killer J/Satan after this massacre - because he paused his killings until now - maybe?
The whole mother sacrifice is kind of like how Lily saved Harry Potter (in case you have read/seen), or many other stories where mother's love is the ultimate sacrifice and protection for the kid... I am thinking they drew reference from that.
I have a hard time - relating Kylum to Daon. like am not too sure how it will all piece together - cause if that was the case, Bael would not have Paimon touch him, even if he knew Paimon had no chance. Kylum is also lost from Hell - so if anyone knows Daon is related to Kylum they would have tried to bring it back to Hell/Lucifer.
Too many questions - and the wait is so longggggg!!!
He's definitely alive - I think this was just a great cliffhanger. Justicia still has her power and good reflexes…
They will definitely have a happy ending - unless the writers decide to put a cliffhanger, and killing one of them but leaving it still open ended for Season 2. Honestly would hate that as I am not a fan of multiple seasons - I love how K-dramas have been good with 16 episode format, and even better with 12/14 episodes.
It would be a like those endings I feel - where one of them will be sacrificed and months/years later they will come back. Something like Goblin, Splish Splash Love etc.
I love your review title. It has been a while since I saw this - but someone's review came up on my feed. They had given it 10/10 and I literally threw up in my mouth. Which is why I came to the drama page again and I had liked/upvoted your review a while back - and just read it all over again because it is so on point - we have some similar thoughts, which I highlighted in my own review (https://kisskh.at/profile/omo-omo-omo/reviews/319699)
Almost a year later and I am still regretting why did I watch this garbage even in 2X speed. Only answer is cause of the Min-Bong cameo and Byeon Woo Seok's Ryu Si Oh, there was no other saving point.
(P.S. I love your profile - so aesthetic. It says under construction: while I would not change a thing because it is so wonderful already, but then I want to see more creativity with the revamped page)
is Han da on is alive or not? if she losses her power how she will take revenge on J ! aah one week i will go…
He's definitely alive - I think this was just a great cliffhanger. Justicia still has her power and good reflexes - so she alone could have stopped the blow. Or yes, like the other MDLers are sharing maybe Mando/Arong have also intervened - and now all four of them will become a team (since we need that to have Finale Battle with Satan/Killer J)
I also shared it in another of my comments - remember how Daon is getting too vengeful? Like he is overall a good character and not a sinner, but because of the death of the detective/foster mother - he is ready to make deal with the devil to get the killer punished. So basically his good soul is starting to get a bit of tinge of evil. So to stop all this - he will be saved but momentary lose consciousness - like a day or few on Earth time, but a lot longer in Hell. This is where he will meet Bael/Lucifer and understand what it truly means to be in Hell. Justicia has also been telling him that he should carefully think before making a deal with her - as he does not know what Hell is, and should get a taste of it in order to decide. So basically human Daon has been foolish (in the eyes of higher power) and saying things like I don't care, I am ready to go to hell to have Killer J killed. But this will give him perspective that he meant to be good and serve a greater good purpose.
Therefore - if we see next week trailer - no place Daon is shown, but when Justicia is in some kind of trouble, and Arong is asking/shouting for help - a car dashboard is shown, meaning someone is rushing in to save her. I believe this will be Daon ready to save her, having recovered his consciousness. He is the ML so the whole fast car chase is probably going to be all heroic!
Also I think we will have either of them sacrificing themselves towards the finale, right now it is too soon for anyone of them to be dead.
Bael probably took her powers for killing Paimon - as Paimon was only following Bael's orders, and Justicia intervened. Also, she has become a bit human-like having feelings etc - so maybe a total punishment is not killing her, but taking her powers away. I am still believing this is Bael's ultimate plan to make her feel more compassion even if she was a Judge from Hell.
Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective! [1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest…
[1] Why Killer J left Daon alive? Basis the last episode - I think he was distracted. Like Daon's mother started speaking and hence he got to her first - and Daon in the meantime got into his room and possibly called the police, along with Gabriel looking out somehow - which is why he was the police officer who was the first responder probably (not that Gabriel knew Daon but heard the mother's prayers - cause he helps the good and poor)
[2] Daon - Evil or Not? And yes - not Bael, but Paimon says he is not a sinner = so Bael says then make him, only then he can kill him. But we know he is not dead - but there we were left on a cliffhanger.
I think he was on the verge of having evil thoughts - you are also a sinner if you kill someone in thoughts, this has also been said. So in a way this is again a big plan by Bael/Lucifer/Powers Supreme to make Daon get a taste of hell. He might faint for a few minutes/lose consciousness during which time he will get to experience hell - have a 1:1 with the powers running this whole situation and he will come back with determination to catch Killer J/Satan while following the right path. In fact he will even help Bitna/Justicia not to go astray. Also, I say this - because remember Bitna/Justicia has also been saying that before he makes a deal with her, he should experience Hell. So in fact when the time comes Justicia would be faced with some difficult options - and Daon will either sacrifice himself or make her remain on the path of righteousness and true justice.
[3] Original Bitna Regarding original Bitna - I still have only assumptions, can't really conclude on what she has done that made her getting stabbed and being sent to hell. And if she was a sinner through and through then there should have been no issues and Bael should have allowed Justicia to give her judgement. But I think there were some "fineprint of Terms and Conditions" that were not followed. Like I think Bitna has been an accomplice to Satan/Killer J (if its Assemblyman) and there are cases where she did not deliver justice - so she was to go to hell but a more severe one that what Justicia looked after. Or there is something wrong entirely and Bitna too is a victim of sorts.
But like I said - we have hardly uncovered any part of her story so too stretched to conclude anything. Lets see what the detective duo discover - I think we will get to see it in the next 4 episodes - more so Justicia has lost her powers, so she too will try to see what original Bitna was upto - and both sides will discover the reason behind Bitna being stabbed and being sent to Hell.
yess gremory still cares abt justitia. That is the only important idk if i really care for her hating da on cause…
yeah - I think her character is pitted against Mando. Basically showing us a difference of what loyalty and idol-worshipping means.
Mando - is a true loyal follower of Justicia. He might hate her methods at times, and be scared of her, but he truly cares, respects / worships her and her ideals/methods etc.
Gremory - is what you'd call the sheep, and a little to into it - making her forget the right from wrong. I think this is what Bael wanted them all to understand and hence sent them on Earth as humans - just because they are demons does not mean they have to the utmost evil and follow whatever they have been told. Being with humans was meant to invoke their sense for "justice" which is what the show is about. Wherever humans fall short of punishing the evil humans - that is where this team of demons must step up and finish the job.
Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective! [1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest…
Thank you - also loving everyone else' addition to it. Love how well done this show is, making it so interesting and opening to so many perspectives. Hoping it finishes well till the end π€πΌ
Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective! [1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest…
I like this - what if Kylum is not a thing but a person - and it is Han Daon. Interesting.
Though I have a slight doubt on this - cause Daon is shown to be a human who can sway. Like he is a good character but because of the losses he has faced - his family, foster mom - his good soul maybe tinged with a little bit of evil. Which is why maybe I feel in the finale Justicia will have to face Han Daon too, after defeating Satan as her last judgment, or maybe before defeating Satan.
Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective! [1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest…
Your comment is making me think of another point - which I have no added in the OP. Thanks for that and your time to read through!
Why was Killer J dormant for 20 years? Option 1: I am not sure but it could be that it was Assemblyman possessed by Satan and did the killings. But then something happened or Satan wanted a younger body so now he is possessing Son 1. Hence there is a gap of 20 years. This seems a weak case - but still a thought.
Option 2: Assemblyman is Satan/Killer J and made those killings when he was younger/middle aged. He got enough power by killing 20 years ago - but stopped cause he became powerful enough and even a big political figure. So kind of it slipped from his mind as he was able to get through anything with his power/money - until old age stuck him and the fear of death loomed for him. Hence he has started killing again and wants to accomplish his task to become immortal.
The above is kind of inspired by Voldemort (Harry Potter) and Orochimaru (Naruto) like driven to a point to achieve greatness they did all those crimes, and left it halfway because they thought they became the best. Until the problem of dying again came into the picture - and so he is killing again.
Option 3: It is another person or either of the above 2 characters - but something happened after doing those killings 20 years ago. Maybe Gabriel or any other higher power intervened and Satan / Killer J had to go into hiding. He also did not have Kylum* with him and therefore was defeated easily. Therefore he chose to hide and bide his time, while searching for Kylum to be better prepared. Now he is back and killing again, while in possession of Kylum, thinking he will have better chance at defeating whatever higher power drove him out earlier.
Option 4: Everything from Option 3 + Whoever is Killer J/Satan is also thinks they can possess Justicia and overthrow Bael and then take command of Hell and Earth. This is so because it seems like the one powerful after Bael would be Justicia. And now that Justicia is her human form it would be easier to take possession. This is why he has become active now again after 20 years...?

Thank you for reading, kind words on the my interpretation ππΌ and sharing your thoughts! I am enjoying the show too, and yes impressive so far and hence hoping they leave no loose ends.
P.S: I think best to keep your comment under spoiler tag, lest it spoils someone's viewing experience. But thanks again - let's discuss more when the next episodes come out β€οΈ
Omg! We are getting close to the end, and loved the fight scene of Ep 10. Some thoughts and theories - after seeing…
Below are my thoughts - would love to know others' perspective!
[1 ] Killer J = Satan, because he is the evilest of the culprit in this show, plus confirmed with the information shared by Bitna and Mando, only way he can stay immortal is through killing good people and collecting their body parts, and Kylum. That is kind of like taunting "God" that I am killing your best folks = Totally Evil, Totally Satan = Killer J (human form)
[2] Assemblyman and first son is shady as hell. One of them is surely Killer J / Satan. Whoever it is has also killed the Assemblyman wife, and second son is the witness to it. Which is why he takes drugs and wants to die - because what he knows is killing him inside. The show initially kind of makes it feel like he definitely is a culprit or accomplice - but I feel he is putting himself into doing bad in order to be punished and get killed, as what he knows he cannot share but does not want to bear it anymore.
[3] What is Bael's deal? Initially I thought that he punished Justicia to teach her a lesson so that she learns to be better at her role - after having lived through the human punishment. Or maybe it was his big plan to make her humane. But that last episode with him ordering Paimon to kill her - even if it was a taunt, makes me skeptical on his motives. Even now that he will take away her powers in the future episodes - I am not sure if it is to teach her a lesson, or is there something sinister brewing in his mind?
[4] Paimon sounds like the name of a digimon/pokemon :P
[5] I think the other 2 detectives, Han Daon's team members are going to discover what happened to human Kang Bitna. This is the most mysterious part for me - which we are yet to touch. I really hope they flesh it out well and explain what happened to her and where she is now. Till date we have not heard much on it - only a bit from the Assemblyman's first son = that old Kang Bitna would have not lived in the villa/apartment she is living in now - cause maybe she despised the poor.
What I can infer is that Kang Bitna former human - was someone who grew up poor, so she took any means to rise up and become a judge (which means taking bribes etc). And which is why she did not ever want to go back to her poor circumstances and hated them to a level. Which is why she had a drive to excel that Assemblyman liked and she was thought to be his "successor" in politics by marrying his son. But am curious - who stabbed her, was it any person who felt her past case judgement was wrong and therefore retaliated - or was it Assemblyman Son 1 - and that is why Son 2 witnessed it. And therefore Kang Bitna was kind of stuck - like she has done some evil in her life (bribes etc) but she was murdered - so maybe Hell was not the place for her - and hence this whole ordeal with Justicia's punishment.
Really hope they show us what happened rather than giving us a short, rushed version in finale episode.
[6] Why Killer J/Satan did not kill for 20 years? April2000's comment made me think of this point - Why was Killer J dormant for 20 years? and here are some of my thoughts:

This show is killing me with curiosity - in a good way, and I love it β€οΈπ€
Boyhood deserves all the recognition and then some more! It was such a great show - with the right amount of nostalgia, comedy and terrific acting! π

Option 3:
It is another person or either of the above 2 characters - but something happened after doing those killings 20 years ago.
Some thoughts and theories - after seeing Ep 9-10. Others who have seen so far - what do you think? Sharing under first comment under spoiler tag....Can't wait for next weekend β€οΈ
