Understood - Lets keep that matter aside. π€π€
Ever-growing dropped list is something even am guilty of and I blame those shows that seemed promising initially and then turned out to be a disaster. Really hoping it is not the case with this one #fingers-crossed π€πΌ
While personally am enjoying the show - but yes I too feel Ep 5-6 dipped a bit especially with how some characters are being written. But am hoping that this one picks from here and finishes well. Sorry to hear that you are not able to get into this one - maybe give it a pause and let it complete, and then if the comments/reviews are good, you can choose to come back to it. That is usually how I do it - rather than dropping it altogether π

Thanks for clarifying - but your comment "You call this decent? Damn low standards" seemed to be pointed me and what I shared as another opinion on the same character/actor.
And again - "you're easily satisfied, when the acting is not that good" - You do not know what easily satisfies me or what I consider good acting, just like I do not know for you. But if you see other comments - there is a mixed opinion on her acting so both our opinions are valid even if they are different.
I just don't think it is nice to push that only your opinion is right and therefore whoever does not agree with you has "low standards or is easily satisfied"
Let's keep the "judgement" with Justicia and group π€£

It is my opinion on it - which am entitled to. To me it seems decent. But then yes you can feel it being not up to par, which I respect - just shared my views as part of a discussion.
and FYI - did you know you can do so without labelling anyone's opinions as low/high/medium standards π€£
Her acting is so bad in this show. Glaring all the time and just opening your eyes really wide to look "scary".…
Personally, I have not liked PSH in the shows I have seen her so far cause I think she was stereotyped as the feeble, helpless poor gal - no wonder there are so many memes about her as well for it (Think Heirs)
In fact this is the first time I am seeing her in such a role - and while what she is doing like you said is not the greatest, but some of the smirks, side eyes and that taunting gaze of "I am above than you" is really working well. Also the fight scenes.
Again it will not go down in history as the best portrayal of such a character that blends glamour/sarcasm/action/supremacy all in one but then it is a difficult character to portray in the first place. Not a crazy fan of hers, but I still feel PSH is doing a DECENT - if not good/great job.
Watched till ep 6I think there are many villans and many stories present in the drama.Potential is high.Hope they…
I am not a big fan of multiple season - cause the wait is so long, and then it diminishes the excitement for later seasons unlike S1. Therefore hoping they make the most of these 14 episodes and deliver a good finish to all stories per episode, building up to the main plot being unraveled.
Okay, so we're almost halfway into the series, and so far it has been going well. Every episode has been a hit,…
Hey Letty - I totally get your rant on Han Daon. While I was fangirling in the initial episode because I am seeing the actor for the first time, but I think all the reasons that you have shared are valid. But I'd like to see it in a different perspective.
Usually in such scenarios - you'd expect the human and the immortal character to team up and solve cases together. Or have lovely banters, but still have some sort of teaming up which eventually becomes a romance in the end. I am taking reference from shows like Tomorrow, My Demon etc.
But I think in Han Daon's case the writers forgot to give that sense of compromise and teaming up. At the moment his self-righteousness seriously doesn't seem justified just because he is a cop and going by the books. Rather it looks a little foolish. Maybe the writers are going with this flow and in the next half of the show will make his character sympathize with what Justicia is doing, and maybe team up with the demons. Though I wish they would have started early on rather than making him a rigid character - which obviously seems slightly unlikeable.
I really hope they develop the character better - and even Justicia tries to open up to him so that they come to the same page. Right now because of their rigid personalities, even the heart palpitation (sign that she has human feelings - maybe love) seems misplaced - how can romance bloom, or ML saying he wants to understand FL - it seems quite weird overall.
I am loving the series - but yes these are some of the things that are making it a little less than perfect. I hope it improves in the latter half of the series. π€πΌ
I love how Ep 5-6 had some references to one of my favourite movies, Primal Fear Did anyone else see the similarity ? Loving this show, and this subtle nod to a classic movie.
I love the title of your review π I loved Blood Free (eagerly awaiting Season 2) and was contemplating watching Red Swan (just for Rain Oppa). But going by your review and the others' it seems like a hard pass!
After Narratage and And, Live (Soshite, Ikiru) - this is Kasumi and Kentaro's drama together since a long time. Excited to see them together again as they are two of the most recognizable Japanese actors imo, incredibly talented on an individual basis - so whenever they pair up, as a viewer can expect some great magic onscreen! β¨
If you enjoy slice of life or dramas with mini stories β this is probably your drama then. I like the stories…
I usually like fast paced shows, though some slice of life shows are an exception. (Closest one would be Japanese show: Barakamon). Usually slice of life theme shows are good and I know it, but I cannot get back to it if there is a pause as it is not addictive enough - unlike adrenaline pumping genres like mystery/thrillers that I usually gravitate towards.
But thank you for sharing your thoughts - I'll keep it in mind, along with what other users have shared.
In my opinion, in terms of storytelling and plot the drama peaked at Ep11. After that everything feels like a…
Thank you - this is really a good point - maybe I can push myself and watch till Ep 11 and then decide. In any case, I understand that everyone's preference differs - my sole reason for asking this question was to understand and get a sense check of how it has progressed so far since I put it on hold at Ep 8 β€οΈ
Itβs hard to advice as viewing preference can be very subjective. For once, I didnβt find the reveal of her…
Thank you, Megumi for sharing your views about the whole drama and then each set of couple. Will keep in mind in deciding how I want to proceed with this drama!
This drama can be a hit or a miss. Its storyline pace is quite slow but matches well with the romance as it is…
Thanks Xuehua for sharing your opinion, and don't worry I am taking it with a neutral mind, knowing fully well that I'll definitely get answers from those who are enjoying or not enjoying the drama.
Like I shared on the comment before you to Kelly - will wait for this drama to complete, then see my frame of mind whether am invested enough to give it a re-shot. Thanks again for sharing your view - appreciate!
In my opinion, it might be worth the watch, especially if you're okay with watching it later. I'd say it's worth…
Thank you, Kelly firstly for taking the time and sharing your opinion. I'll definitely keep in mind your views before going ahead. Maybe the best thing right now would be to let the last 2 episodes air - and then see what state of mind I am in to continue.
Honest Advice Needed: I put this drama on hold at Ep 8 (after the FL's reason is revealed) It was going so well till then but having this cliched reason just put me off the whole show.
since now it is at the last week - I really want honest, unbiased opinion, is it worth the watch? - is the plot/story better, and pacing is good? - I really do not care about the looks or how good the couples look, I want to know if the story remains logical for both the couples?
UPDATE: Thank you everyone who has shared their views. Honestly I was little nervous before posting this question - as I know many love this drama, so I thought I'll get called out for being an "idiot" or something for asking something silly (yes - people on MDL have called me that, disregarding that someone could genuinely be asking or sharing their opinion). But thank you all who have replied - and have shared your views in such details, without any harsh or biased words. Really appreciate it ππΌ
Have decided that I'll wait for the drama to complete this week, and then make some time specifically to get back to this drama and watch at least till Ep 11, no matter what. From that point onwards, if the story is enticing enough as it was in the beginning, will complete it. But if I can't still feel the pull - guess this show isn't for me :)
The first time I saw him was in love in contract the nd everyone went gaga over his looks but that's it the show…
He is definitely good from whatever little I have seen so far. So just hoping he gets his due and more. I am sure all of us know of artists who are not really that good but just get hyped up, and then there are others like BWS and KJY waiting for someone to discover and make them seen/heard for the talent that they are!
I am watching The Judge from Hell and have discovered Kim Jae Young (or re-discovered after long). While the wait for Ep 5 is long - I wanted see other works of this talented actor. Unable to convince myself to watch shows where he is a supporting actor as there won't be enough screentime for him - therefore Love In Contract is something I want to pursue...just to watch him.
Have already seen the comments/reviews being negative about this show - so am not here for the plot. I'll fast forward, 2x watch it just to see Kim Jae Young. Want to know does the show have enough of him and is not frustrating in some way?
PS. I watched 2 episodes of him on Running Man - and loved it. Anyone interested do see Ep 445 and 446. Yes, I get too passionate and obsessed very easily - just like Veronica Park! π
