MDL Drama Ratings need to be monitored...or some structure put around it 😔 Slight Rant Ahead....
I usually start a drama basis the synopsis, teaser and cast - but factors like review/rating especially of MDL do factor in heavily. Had been thinking of dropping this show in spite of liking the premise, just cause the ratings were not promising - but am so glad I disregarded it and started the show.
The drama so far (after seeing 4 episodes) - this show definitely is in the league of rating 8 (good) rather than 6-7 (which I believe is an average score). It seemed to be starting off slow and I was thinking it is going to be predictable but it is absolutely NOT so. At least no indication so far - there is enough tension and suspense build up to keep one entertained and hooked, if you like works of this genre.
Therefore, I feel somehow - the ratings are off and either we need to be more conscious while giving ratings (which obviously cannot be controlled as it is subjective) OR we have only episode rating and not all over drama rating for ongoing shows.
This way at least it would not dissuade audience from picking it up - like it did for me.
i like how everyone started swooning over this man only this year and i have known him since the release of weight…
Ikr! But it is a good thing - I have been following him since his modeling and variety shows that he did initially and shows like ModuLove. Love him since then and had been hoping that he gets a main lead or any mainstream drama breakthrough soon.
I think the world sat up a bit when they saw him in Strong Gal Namsoon and 20th Century Girl AND went totally wild with Lovely Runner.
And as a fan am so incredibly happy - and look at this article, it shows what a long way he has come - and deservedly so, given we are not seeing the hardwork that is behind the scenes but it is there ❤️
Hoping this love continues and really need to see more diverse drama projects with him in lead.
Finally able to break from my K-drama slump cause of this drama ❤️✨ Though it is still to early to say anything, as I do not want to jinx it.
I personally felt Ep 1-2 started off great, but 3-4 were mellow in comparison. Except maybe Ep 4 the mystery angle (why did FL leave her job and everything else?). But that was momentary.
While I know my willpower is all time low, but am thinking I should allow more episodes to air before binging this one... just would also need to keep away from social media spoilers 😪😪😪
You mean the black suit he wore in Ep 1 for funeral/award OR the brown suit for his office grand opening?
Agree on this one! I think they were going for the oversize look, but then cause we saw him in that hot black suit this one was so contrasting and not so tasteful!
It's sad to see that how her mom treating her! From the first episode she doesn't try to understand her daughter.…
Things thankfully get better at end of Ep 2 - and hopefully overtime in coming episodes. Also I love how the rest of the ahjummas also stood up for her and I am pretty sure we might see some Reply 1988 kind of women bonding and support here as the episodes progress.
I don’t think it was in jest at all. He’s serious about poor working conditions
He goes on to say: Ju Ji Hoon continued, "The conditions on set are much better now than in the past. There was always an emergency team present ...."
So his comment would have been in sarcasm, jest was just an example. In any case I don't feel it is a critique - as the title makes out. Moreover it seems as a clickbait - cause in the whole article that aspect is very minor... hence my comment.
It works as it got so many of us here - but then not a true reflection of what the article talks about.
The title's clickbait effect definitely worked and am guessing this is a poor translation. If not, then this is in poor taste as it completely derails from the point that the actor is trying to make.
"Project Silence" Star Ju Ji Hoon JESTS: 'Dogs Receive Better Care Than Actors Nowadays' - something like this would have still served the purpose, I feel.
I find Kwon Yool incredibly handsome, having the perfect voice and acting talent that is class apart. Have seen him in many dramas, and currently seeing him in Connection and My Sweet Mobster.
But feel that he is getting typecasted as the prosecutor or related support male leads, OR a baddie (will not name the dramas, #iykyk - as it might be spoilers).
I really wish to see him in a main lead role, away from his serious persona! 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Loving how this drama is focusing on the prejudices faced by our Thirsty Deer gang and rehabilitation for ex-convicts, amidst the whole romance/comedy and mystery of childhood/past stories.
Was waiting for this drama to finish and then binge, but the Drama Gods know I have no such willpower. Binged it till the Ep 8 and can't wait for Ep 9 and 10 to be out to watch them.
Since we are now at a crucial junction where the drama can retain its initial excitement + pace + tie all threads together into a beautiful finish OR nose dive - really hoping it unfolds well. ❤️
She reminds me of Kim Min-Gi (Ju Young, True Beauty) - like she could be his sister. They have a slight resemblance, or that's what I felt watching her in My Sweet Mobster.
Unfortunately, none of this is new. MDL has always been a cesspool of obsessed, mentally ill fandoms who will…
I can understand - while I have not had an exact situation here on MDL and I hope it does not happen, which is why I am being vocal on these matters. I am sorry you had such an experience, but glad that you are still on MDL in a capacity you enjoy - because like you, I love this platform and want to cheer on the efforts of the team working hard to make this platform better everyday!
I hope you do not have such encounters, and the least I can say to you or anyone facing a similar situation, I am always up for non-judgmental and healthy discussions, so please feel free to reach out - if you want. And I really hope more and more folks give that safe space for good drama discussions ❤️
They showed a flashback where his gf left him for a rich guy. And now that he has achieved success in his career…
Yes, that's what I thought and shared. But then why is he also making a move on the FL. Is it because now that the FL has the ML's attention, he wants to snatch her away so that the "rich" ML will be heartbroken just like he was. Just that it is the opposite way - since in his case he was "kind of defeated" by a rich guy since his girl went with the "rich" guy as per flashbacks.
But yes, probably his original goal was to get someone rich but looks like he just wants to beat the rich guys no matter who it is.
exactly what i wanna say after reading the content vs the news headline.
Hehehe - its like Naver is sharing news for the sake of it, another marketing gimmick! Not necessary imo - given I will watch it no matter how many parts they make it, and so will others who enjoyed S1.
Till then will wait for Round 2 of "Mugunghwa kkoci pieot seumnida"

Assuming they are both of same age, even FL is 34.
And that they met in 1995 :)
Amazing review - in fact many of the things match in your and my review for this drama! ✨
