Last Action Hero is one of my favorite movies of Arnie. It released when I was not born π but my dad made sure that we watch it once we were able to make sense. Some of the old movies - especially of the 90s, 2000s and 10s are really spectacular - hooking you on so many levels. No wonder they become iconic - Last Action Hero being one of them!
Thank you - that is very detailed and insightful perspective. Really appreciate you making the efforts to share it. From what you have shared it makes sense to watch it as it airs - I'll think about it as I am eager to watch the show, but was skeptical as there's a lot going on with my watchlist currently.
Mr Queen - is an absolute favorite of mine, and I will recommend everyone to watch it - till the day I die. There are very few dramas like it and as you shared, Shin Hye Sun delivered it with perfection.
P.S: Your username is very intriguing - and since W is also one of my fav dramas, I saw through your bio. Really impressive what you have shared about a plot design for Season 2. I think the story of W opens up so many possibilities, just like you have explored. In fact - any drama/movie that blurs the line between real and fiction, and/or breaks the fourth wall is something that can just throw us into endless possibilities of stories stemming from that world. Just wanted to add it here - that I really enjoyed your blog post - Cheers!
I think so too - as it happens in many other folklore and other dramas that we have seen (My Demon being the latest).…
Ooooh! I love this idea - I think the real Kang Bitna is also up to something. So far she looks as if she is scared and innocent - but I think there is more than meets the eye.
This is because: 1) We know that she was ambitious and was eyeing a political career 2) She definitely did something that made someone stab her. Not sure if what she did was wrong or it could be her fiance who stabbed her or his brother. There's something definitely fishy here. 3) She has escaped from some place in Hell - we saw her running away and due to which the guard has been punished and sent to human world as well.
It could be that Justicia gets to live as a human Kang Bitna - as she would come to appreciate humans and fall in love with the ML. So this way it would be her redemption of sorts.
Whereas Kang Bitna definitely was up to something and was not completely innocent - and therefore as some form of punishment she'll remain in hell, and take the role of Justicia.
Idk - it is very early and tricky to guess. But I'm loving our theories - proves how exciting this show is!
Believe me - with some people you can't just reason. So let it go - and if anyone makes you feel uncomfortable on the platform, do report - that would be my only suggestion though am not sure if it actually helps (did not help me - so I chose to ignore such folks, rather than mar my experience on MDL).
Hope from my end - I was able to share well. I think Kentaro has a bit resemblance to Bae In Hyuk (like you mentioned) and Seo Kang Joon (like Claudia shared). They all fall into the whole salt-guy face as it is termed, maybe that is why we see the resemblance.
Anyway - I like all three of them - they are really handsome and have some amazing dramas β€οΈ
omo omo Veronica in the house lol Im looking for old sakaken movies and dramas, and i remembered I had this put…
What a coincidence - I just finished Dr Chocolate now (had to wait a lot for the subs to come and my interest had diminished, which is also the reason I ended up watching this film)
I can totally understand your feelings - this movie is not an easy watch but very beautiful. Do watch, whenever you are ready - and I hope you like it too. Veronica Park is always here - in case you need a friend, fellow SakaKen fangirl to discuss about it ππΌ (will also get virtual tissues as this film demands it π€§π€§π€§)
Got a feeling he will become popular just like Byeon Woo Seok
I really hope so too!! BWS is another model/actor who I have been following since long and he just needed the right break to catapult to stardom that he deserves. It came in the form of 20th Century Girl > Strong Girl Nam Soon and biggest being Lovely Runner.
For KJY - while I have not been following him, I can see that he has done many projects already. I hope it is similar to Lee Dong Wook (who was good, but Goblin was his turning point) and BWS, and he becomes a household name in terms of popularity and getting more projects!
Thank you - this helps! And yes, this is what I have decided. given it is just 12 episodes I think I can wait and binge it once there are 2-4 episodes left!
Why do i feel like the punishment they talked about when a demon falls in love can be that the demon becomes human.…
I think so too - as it happens in many other folklore and other dramas that we have seen (My Demon being the latest). I am all-in for happy endings so I'll still hope this is the ending they give, Justicia becoming a human - but then realistically thinking since it is 14 episodes, maybe they'll make sequel and leave us hanging?
Given this show is acquired by OTT Disney - it is quite possible, given the show does well - which it is so far, they might want to milk and make more moolah and so renew it for Season 2.
I could not wait any longer and started this show - and loving every bit of it so far! I love such shows that deal with a case per 1-2 episodes and the devil judge providing justice is oh-so-satisfying, especially when it comes in the cool swag form that Park Shin Hye is delivering in her character.
The CGI effects are bit weird - but given they are very minimal, it is tolerable.
All in all, while I wrote a long comment** on why have we not hyped up - Kim Jae Young, in the same league as other famous K-stars - he is the biggest pleasant surprise and find for me from this drama. Like Park Shin Hye and Kim In Kwon - I already know are fantastic, but this man has come as a surprise - and I am going to watch his other works, while hoping to see more him apart from this drama soon! π #fangirl mode activated!
Did you mean Haruma Miura - I think all of us who have been following J-dramas and movies know of him and he was definitely a first for many - like us. In fact - not ranking as such, but he, SakaKen, Jun Matsumoto, Kento Yamazaki, Sota Fukushi, Takeru Satoh etc are the ones who started the Japanese Wave so as to speak.
From Me To You remains my favorite till date - I have lost count how many times I have seen it just to have Miura relive it. It is indeed a bittersweet feeling π
I am yet to start this drama - since this is 6 episodes, and I am watching other airing dramas, I'll wait for this one to complete and then binge. But really interested to know how it is going for you and others. Will come back to you to know what your review was for the whole drama. Happy Watching, till then! π
Okay - so I just started The Judge from Hell and immediately took notice of Kim Jae-Young. While watching the drama I thought that it was Song Jae Rim but something fell off so I came to MDL and got to know that it is Kim Jae Young.
Now I saw my list - and see that I have only ever seen him in My Secret Romance. But then seeing the other dramas/movies on his filmography list - why has this handsome man not more widely known. Like he is handsome, and whatever I have seen of him so far he is a decent actor - and looks like he modelled too. So why is he not being hyped up and people going gaga over him - and better yet, he appearing in more dramas/movies? (The latter being the main thing I want and for that a certain level of hype is needed)
Checked his age - he is 35, so he has been in the industry for quite sometime. Genuinely want to know - is there some backstory that I do not see on the public sites and MDL?
He clearly is a heartthrob, ah-juiccyy material!! Like I expect people to go crazy over him as in the likes of Lee Dong Wook, Lee Min Ho, Byeon Woo Seok, Rowoon etc. Hoping this latest drama - The Judge from Hell would be the turning point and every social media post be about him. I know I'll be making one on my page for sure! β€οΈ
P.S. Does anyone else feel there is a slight resemblance of Rowonn and Song Jae Rim - while looking (ogling) at him? :P Saw his IG pictures in some of them I see a faint resemblance..
Yessss, I remember there were so many articles citing them as each others' doppelgangers! Plus, that was so sweet of him to say that he'd like to work together.
The first time I saw SakaKen was in 2015 - the movies, My Love Story and Heroine Disqualified. He was in a support role/SML in these two - but I was already smitten with him. Had to search a lot then to find his modelling works and variety show appearances. So glad of the run he has had and people acknowledging his talent - no wonder he is one of the most sought after actors in Japan!
Why doesn't he push his hair back from his forehead??? π He is much better with headscarf in the restaurant…
probably because he wants to protect us and not unleash his handsomeness at fullest potential π but he usually carries the same hairstyle, floppy covering the forehead in most of his dramas/movies.
I am a die-hard fan of Kentaro, and I can distinguish between him and Bae In Hyuk - but I think this comment/observation maybe coming from the fact that both of them are what you term as shio-gao (literally: salt-face men)
SakaKen has been called that numerous times - the term is described as "a fair-skinned male with good-looking face, defined Adam's apple and collarbones, as well eyes that turn into lines when smiling"
Bae In Hyuk also falls into this category and given he was one of the most recent male leads who have acted opposite the FL - maybe this comparison is therefore being made.
Thanks a lot for sharing your view! Since am a big fan of the FL I am going to watch it for sure, just the pacing makes me decide should I watch it as it airs or wait for it to complete.
how much screen time the second lead couple are getting? I want to watch for them only
Somewhere in the middle of the series, they have got a good amount of screentime. It is obviously not as much as the main couple - but the drama makers have balanced it well imo.
Like we know the show is for the main leads- but they have intertwined the second pair's love story beautifully - to the point that you are not left for wanting more, but then it sets up a beautiful stage for the spin off.
My friendly recommendation would be to watch the show. It is short and crisp - and like I mentioned has tightly woven the story and brought out all the themes well. Bonus - you watch this show for both the couples - and since your focus is the second one, their scenes will make you go π₯°ππ»and then you can watch the spin off at leisure when it comes out on Oct 3!
I hope this long answer of mine conveys my excitement for the second couple and their story - excited to know how it goes for you!
I hate the father of the male leads but he also makes me lol π€£
Ikr - he is a paradox character. Like there are times when you think he is the antagonist and then he switches and does some funny antics (that scene to save his plants) and am like so confused whether to fully hate him with passion or ROFL! π
He is such a great actor - so happy that he is pulling it off so well!
Mr Queen - is an absolute favorite of mine, and I will recommend everyone to watch it - till the day I die. There are very few dramas like it and as you shared, Shin Hye Sun delivered it with perfection.
