Lee Jun Young needs more roles like Moon Cha Min & recognition! ⭐👍🏻👏🏻 He is so talented but often shadowed by bad or average scripts. Very few can act petty/whiny like he does here - or bring that villainous/psycho gaze in their eyes as he has in his negative roles in the past.
Really commendable - and definitely someone I am hoping does better and gets much deserved love/fame! ❤️ (Think BWS Lovely Runner, Rowoon Extraordinary you etc)
About Shin Jae Rim ❤️ - her name phonetically sounds like Cinderella, right? Can someone confirm who speaks/knows Korean? - Love how wild her thoughts are on finding the ideal man. Coming here after seeing Im Sol in Lovely Runner - delulu fangirl me approves #doublethumbsup - Like how her step-family is not mean like in the stories. Loving this interpretation, though am keen to know whether as the drama progresses if this will change?
This drama is FREAKING good - still surprised at the rating. Maybe needs more viewers and ratings might improve in the end?
Aww thank you so much. I usually think alot posting a comment because I'm not good with English and I can't explain…
Happy to hear back from you - and yes, honestly feel people should be more accepting and the space should be for discussion and not word wars!
Also a tip which I got from fellow MDL when I had asked for feedback on my reviews - if you are unable to recall character names - just mention the role. Like ML, FL, ML's father etc.
You're welcome - and keep writing, sharing whatever is on your mind/heart!
So I had the same views as you, I was obsessed with this drama - coming on MDL every week sharing my views, theories and obsession with BWS. While I did complete the drama - I feel it was the best till Ep 10, but went a little down afterwards with repetitive plot and fillers.
I understand why you wrote this - "Not a hate review. You should give it a try and make up your own mind and DON'T TRUST A REVIEW" given how much people love this drama, and it is very common and unfortunate when people hate a different opinion for a drama/character/celeb. I personally got a lot of heated comment/DMs when I wrote something that was "unpopular opinion" for Queen of Tears 😅
But just wanted to say - personally I read a lot of reviews in and outside of MDL. It has a lot of weightage on what I view - although a lot of times, I go with my feelings. Hence just wanted to comment - that it is a great perspective you have shared - I just don't think Don't Trust a Review is needed. People should have that sense that a review is just an opinion and not a rule set in stone. They are free to make their own choices and opinions.
So hence wanted to comment that your opinion matters, your review is great, I definitely trust it though my own decision to watch/drop a show is on me! Thanks for writing it and sharing 🥰
P.S: here's mind if you want to read and it would have scored a rating like yours, but then I also factored in my feeling while I watched the drama as it aired - Reviewing Lovely Runner: https://kisskh.at/profile/omo-omo-omo/review/363243
I just came across your review Piyush and this is very similar to my own writing style of reviews. But your articulation is much better - and I which is why I thought to comment here to commend and take notes!
This film is already on high priority list for me cause I never miss any work of Kentaro who plays Akira here. Just have to prepare my mind and heart for it, as I was already very emotional with the trailer - and your review helped me bump it up my watchlist. Thanks and look forward to reading more of your comments/reviews on MDL!
She is so witty and humble about it: "If I have to point out my contribution, it might be that the height difference when standing next to them makes them stand out more". Not like i have met her, but her bright personality shines not only in dramas but off them in interviews/variety shows as well.
She's definitely one of my favorites since sometime and while the article mentions "Byeon Woo Seok, who had a long period of obscurity" - even she experiences something similar and voiced it out in Salon Drip 2 (how she had to also struggle for 6 years or so post debut - as I can recall)
Really happy how the drama has done - and more than that for these two main actors ❤️
How is this show - and how different it is from other dating shows like Single's Inferno? Really want to watch it for our Gwenchana man - and of course the contestants.
It is on a japan/otaku site that gives entrance only once a month and is very picky. I've tried in march but nothing.
Oh the ML - Kentaro is my husband 😂 well in my delulu mind. He's one of the finest actors I have come across, and you can see why.
Do watch his other shows as well - I'll personally recommend: Konin Todoke ni Han wo Oshita dake desu ga (2021) and Tonight at the Movies for a very different role he played!
It's like Byeon Woo Seok's characters are made to have sad endings one way or another 😓Either is unalive or…
Oh he was so good as the SML in Moonshine, I can only imagine how great he would be if he is going to in a historical drama as main lead.
Also, would love to see him in mature modern stories - he has done it early in his career - Office Love and ModuLove etc, but they did not have as much viewership. In fact even Soulmate saw him grow from high school to an adult role and so did Lovely Runner.
Really want him to play a character closer to his age - pretty sure he will slay!
After Goblin in 2016, he also acted as a righteous doctor in Life (2018), a psycho killer in Strangers from Hell…
Aptly put - which is am liking the announcement of this show as shared in this article and wishing that he gets and takes up projects which has more diverse "human" roles as you have put it :)
Like of course the mythological character roles will remain iconic - but I don't want his name to become restricted just to that.
Not sure if many have seen it - but I have seen many reels/shorts have that list for K-drama actors that goes like:
Actor who is always Rich: Lee Min Ho Actor who is always a mythical creature: Lee Dong Wook Actor who is a Vampire: Lee Soo Hyuk
It is not like they have not done other stuff - but they have come to be recalled as these roles/traits - which is why I hope they are cast into so many diverse roles that we remember all of their roles well.
Not sure if am able to articulate this well - but which is why this article and role made me happy and excited.

Of course he is - but for most people, like a general survey if you were to do - people recall his characters of Grim Reaper and Nine Tails. It also means that those characters are iconic/have a more recall factor and were immensely popular.
It is just an opinion - I remember Lee Dong Wook since his My Girl (2005) days and know what a fine diverse actor it is. But I feel the newer audience does not probably know him in such varied roles hence the comment.

Ep 243 with Cha Eun Woo and Ep 245 with Byeon Woo Seok!
Please do share the link, if you have it - Thanks!
Also Gu Jun Pyo's omma is here ❤️

Show is so damn good - would highly recommend watching it to those who have not already.
Really hope this short format completes the story in a single season.
