when they are being separated by their parents - in Ep 11 - clear reference to Romeo and Juliet and that is when the instrumental track "A Time for Us, Romeo and Juliet (1968)" plays as BGM
Ep 11 and 12 - when Sun Jae and his father refer to him being as "Pure as Oxygen" that is when my mind played the SHINee song "Love Like Oxygen" The song has released in 2008, and yes, I know they are showing it as 2009 - but I just thought it might be a reference. Not sure - maybe it is my SHINee/Lovely Runner bias over-reacting.
Maybe they should bring out RING DING DONG as they give University exams or something π
Lol I laughed so hard at the Love Like Oxygen reference!
I am a die-hard SHINee fan and now Lovely Runner, not sure if this was the reference, but this what my mind heard and reacted to as soon as I heard them say "Pure like Oxygen" π
Hold up but if sheβd just left by train with everyone else then the visions she had would never come true because…
Since she saw that in her "premonition" Sun Jae had chased after her, she ensured that in present Sun Jae leaves. And best way to do was to pretend that she was not the 30+ year old Im Sol.
That can be the only thing I can think for this behavior. But given the preview - it seemed like somehow the taxi driver has caught her and brings her back to the dilapidated buildings area.
Maybe he will use Im Sol to lure Sun Jae in as well? Not sure why - but I have feeling he will be coming to that building area and fate might repeat.
Sharing some thoughts based on Ep 13 preview and flashbacking into 11 and 12. It is first comment under spoiler…
[1] Looks like Ep 13 would have that amusement park scene as a flashback, since the necklace he gives her, is something she is already wearing in Ep 12
[2] At end of Ep 12 - the taxi driver and Im Sol are both in the countryside - so why in preview it is shown that he is back to that dilapidated buildings area? Like did he drag her back all the way? That would be very weird - cause it is like a car/train ride distance away. This left me a bit confused.
[3] The way in preview Im Sol is sitting - seems like she is unable to use her legs again? Not sure maybe the writers want us to think that way and therefore created the preview in that manner. But from her words "Maybe SunJae we should have not met from the beginning" - This is the frustrating k-drama scene we are familiar with. Where one of the partners thinks they are not good enough, or think they should break up to save the other person in a relationship etc.
Hopefully, Sun Jae won't let that happen - and WE NEED A HAPPY ENDING - where all are alive and well and healthy! PLEASE.
[4] Personally I love the actor - but I just felt the bathroom scene with SunJae father was a bit over the top, slapstick comedy and not 100% necessary. Like don't get me wrong I loved it - but why? Maybe to bring the parents closer - since we are moving towards the finale and Sol will definitely need her family, and that is when ahjussi can also help given the eomma helped here.
[5] What happened to Sunny? Why couldn't they just immediately get the car out of water just like they did at the end? And also why can it not be cleaned and repaired and has to be said good bye to? Again a little unnecessary. Enjoyed, but could have been avoided.
[6] In Ep 10 end we see Eclipse as a three member band, and we think it could be cause only three of them made the appearance in Superstar K auditions. But given that Sun Jae sings again and now has the card also from the manager, Mr Kim - who wants to help Eclipse debut. So does that mean the future is changing constantly, since Sun Jae also wants to sing?
I really hope they tie everything well, without dipping the excitement and bringing in unnecessary angst/frustrating tropes/ It has been going so well - probably a 9.5-10/10 drama for me, but I am just scared cause the writer is same as True Beauty - and they treated the ending episodes horribly. Fate should repeat in our drama story and neither in the writing for this drama

NOT Quality more like our excitement towards it, and this is where I bring my only knowledge of economics - I blame this phenomenon to " law of diminishing marginal utility"
For me Ep 1-10 were like 10/10 | Ep 11-12 were like 9/10
Which still is CRAZYYY great - but I guess it became a little filler kind with some peak moments scattered throughout cause writers want to give us a more impactful ending.
Not sure if my comment helps give a perspective, but this is what I felt. But of course - as always wishing next week comes early. And yes, love that the OST - Spring Snow is officially out! Have been hearing it on repeat since today evening when it did π
ep 11 was in my top 3 fav but ep12 hit different true, except for the last 10 min that were intense, the rest…
Ep 11 definitely had its moments and I am still crazy about it. But like if you were to have a scale for excitement it was a tad bit less than their initial cute moments.
Maybe this is what economists call " law of diminishing marginal utility"
9/10 is extremely good, more like they shifted gears and took it down a notch probably to give us a more impactful finale week?
Please read the whole thing : Ep 11 and 12 had some peak moments but otherwise felt like a filler. Like the excitement level for every second for Ep1-10 was 10/10, here it was like 9/10.
I am a little scared given the writer is the same as True Beauty and we know what happened there Ep 14 onwards. This drama is so goooooood - like it has literally made me neglect my work to create an IG page for it, which had been on my creative bucket list for so long. I really hope Ep 13 onwards picks up the initial rhythm/excitement as before.
Did you all catch the easter eggs in Ep 11 - the reference to Shinee's song Love Like Oxygen and Romeo and Juliet (1968)'s tune - A Time for US! β€οΈ
The first five minutes of the show tells you why. This is a social commentary on two Chinese laws: the age of…
I don't mind the spoilers so can you share what is underneath that is not shown on the screen? I think knowing that will propel me to take a second look and watch it with a different lens.
Though we love him rescuing her, but at what cost ...

Loving all the 2008 and 2009 nostalgia!
