Title My Lovely Liar Spoiler
Jo Deuk Chan may have something to do with Kim Do Ha's past πŸ€” he seems too nice to Do Ha, like he's trying…
He and his brother, they are definitely involved or to some level. There is something mentioned about an alibi that helped Do Ha be cleared of his charges in the murder case.

Either: Deuk Chan is helping him sincerely like a brother (in latest episode when he met Sol Hee and speaks of Do Ha it is very genuine). He knows of the case and therefore helped him as a friend, fearing that the truth might destroy Do Ha or actually it is not his fault but people around Do Ha would accuse him based on circumstances.

OR: Deuk Chan and his brother really know what happened. But Deuk Chan wants to genuinely help Do Ha but his brother has some ulterior motive and for the right price is keeping his mouth shut - taking money from Do Ha and his own brother.

OR: Deuk Chan does know what really happened, is pretending to help Do Ha which in turn benefits him in business and in a way that Do Ha will be indebted to him.

Honestly hope the latter is not the case, as Deuk Chan seems like a good character. Moreover am so happy to see Yun Ji On in this role after watching and loving him in Tomorrow.

Well, we can only wait and watch how it all unfolds :)
On The Killing Vote Aug 13, 2023
This feels like an extension of the concept picked from The Devil Judge - just here, the criminals/suspects are getting killed (so adding that suspense factor one felt with Squid Games and Hellbound).

Anyways excited to see this - it is after all one of the most anticipated dramas of this month!

Title Death's Game
Another highly anticipated drama that I am looking forward to. Just hoping the pacing of the story across all episodes and drama remains as exciting as the cast is 🀞🏼🀞🏼🀞🏼

I know I will be going into it for Seo In Guk's talent and the plot - but I want to stay for all that and the rest of the characters!

Title The Childe
An action movie through and through - with a twist in the end, and an even better satire/comic after-credit scene! Must watch for those who love action (scenes of car chases, gun and fist fights) and Kim Seon Ho πŸ’–who always enamors you with his dimpled smile - but this time around his cute/creepy persona is chilly/charismatic like the noir characters of The Godfather.

Really loved seeing him in this diverse role - and I wish more actors would take note and venture out like this! 😍 Also guessing because of the post credit scene, it could be a doorway to more sequels and hence more of Seon Ho as your Chingu!

I have a strong feeling/wish - that Jo Borah play her character from The Idle Mermaid. The way she was all boy-crazy in that short drama.

I think that kind of role can make you look very cringe and people can dislike it - by she is one of those actresses who can perform it really well as she feels a natural.

Also - Rowoon does deliver the role a naive innocent male lead well (he has in the past) so the pairing will be fire!

Another one of those dramas that I am highly anticipating and really hoping it does well start to finish!

Will Rowoon be playing another bubbly, naive male lead? Nothing wrong with that but he’s done already with Extraordinary…
You spoke my mind. I feel even with the similar kind of roles he has had so far, he has delivered them very well and I definitely count him as one of the better idol-turned-actors (At least he is not cringe or has poker face).

But yes, I just have this feeling that he should play more serious roles as well, in fact something like in a thriller (like Signal) or roles like Grim Reaper or Doom (eg Seo In Guk from Doom at Your Service, just the character - maybe not similar script) or even take notes from his Tomorrow's costar Lee Soo Hyuk and deliver that performance of being nonchalant-kind of character.
Given his face structure and voice, I think he can deliver those roles as well.

Or maybe something extreme - like a villain/psychopath roles like Im Siwan has played in past. This is my wish for Cha Eun Woo as well. And please while wearing glasses!

Guess as fans, we can only wish for it - up to the popularity poles and casting directors to make the decisions πŸ₯²

Jung So-Min, Han So Hee, Hwang Jung Eum, Gong Hyo Jin, Kawaguchi Haruna must be exceptions? Do you think poor…
Omg! Never knew someone on MDL will share about the legends like Cary Grant and John Wayne here! 😍

Totally agree on Kim Se Jeong's Shin Ha Ri doing a Season 2. But something like a spin-off or special maybe. I think Business Proposal was a very good drama with a fitting conclusion. A spin-off that is like an epilogue that tells us more about the endearing two couples!

Shin Hye Sun is love - Mr Queen is a drama that I can pick up from any episode and rewatch anytime and still be in splits at the comedy!

Yet to see Crash Landing (I avoid it cause of the fate of the SML T_T) but Son Ye Jin is also one of the first K-actresses I have seen cause of Personal Taste (2010). She is too good in there and of course in later projects as well.

Park Min Young and Shin Hye, yes - while I know have had diverse roles to play but their most popular and memorable ones have been a bubbly strong character who has a sad past/struggles (Park Min Young - City Hunter, Healer, Secretary Kim etc) OR sad/poor girl character who is mostly shy but puts up a bravado at times (Shin Hye - Heirs, Flower Boy Next Door etc).

They have had other projects where they did not have such characters - but even in those they tend to bring out the above characteristics.

While I know they were one of the leading actresses as Hallyu Wave took over the globe and I like them, I still don't consider them as someone who is diverse or can take on any role. As masters of their crafts, I am sure they can - just I don't see them as so.

Whereas, more or less for every kind of role - be it naive/strong FL roles - someone like Se Jeong, Hwang Jung Eum, Son Ye Jin would be my choice has I been a casting director! πŸ˜…

What? But so much did happen! I mean yes, now we have more questions - but there was some progress on mystery…
It is there - slow burn.
Audience knows it, just our leads have to realise it soon

who do u think might have stolen the gold ?
Someone from Do Shik's family?

They might have heard of a rumour of a vampire in the mansion and thought to kill him to end the curse. In that attempt they failed but stumbled upon the gold and hence they so RICH now! HEHEHE

May or may not be.
There are some actors who don't have to be told much and are able to deliver it flawlessly. I think that is why they get labelled as natural born talents/actors.

But of course, the role of the casting director, writer is important in order to derive the outcome from the talent they have in hand.

I am not sure if am able to explain it well, so let me take an example.
Of all the actresses you mentioned, Hwang Jung Eum is one of my favorites - and I love her in every role she has played. But her technique is that using a variety of facial expressions to deliver the message. On the other hand Won Ji An - uses very minimal changes to her facial expressions but is still able to deliver the message well. Both are on point and are well received, just different techniques I guess.

Though this is just my opinion - some might even think Ji An has a very straight face and wish she would exaggerate a bit more in terms of face and body language in her acting, like Hwang Jung Eum - but for me in their respective way of showcasing their art, do very well in their own styles.

The rest of the actresses I have seen few to none dramas/movies so can't really comment.

But other actresses that I will put at par with Hwang Jung Eum - i.e using a lot of facial expressions: Shin Hye Sun, Park Bo Young, Kim Se Jeong, Kim Ji Won, Son Ye Jin etc.

Then there is someone like Won Ji An, I am yet to see someone like her yet who puts minimal efforts to show a variety of expressions.

And there are some popular actresses who unfortunately have more or less same expressions in all their roles (this could be an unpopular opinion, but then it is mine :P) - Park Shin Hye, Park Min Young, Kim Hee Sun. More or less all their roles have similar expressions (could be cause of typecasting as people liked them in a role, so they continue to deliver in same fashion)
