I think that trend originated from KinnPorsche (for the mafia theme) and Not Me (for the social issues). What directors don't understand is that those series were not perfect but they executed those themes well and kept a balance between the serious stuff and the BL.

The fact that the actor who plays Hope went from YYY to this is taking me out. Dude acted the full gamut of crazy.

It's weird how Boss keeps insisting Jack calls him "dad". What if he really thinks he is his dad? And he torpedoed the parents' business because he got mad Jack's mom said he wasn't? I'm laughing as I write this but what if??

So I caved in and watched the sad episode anyway. I wasn't expecting the turn things are taking in the next episode preview. I really thought we'd get more heist shenanigans and flirting frennemies Jack/Joker. :'( Right now I'm having Love Mechanics war flashbacks seeing Joke cry.

That makes sense. I had to learn not to expect too much plot-wise from BLs in general. I watch them to relax and indulge. With everything else however, better believe I immediately whip out my critic cap!

Yes I know what you mean, I myself have a handful of points I would have done differently. But I’m still infinitely grateful BL series have come such a long way and J&J is my favourite Thai BL this year so far!

I want them to have a bit more of love-hate and taunting battles, sue me!

I like that Jack chose the easy way out because I like flawed characters, but he should grow out of that and demonstrate character development by the end of the show.

However, I don’t like that they don’t even suspect the boss of poisoning grandma because I don’t like stupid characters. Or, if the character is incompetent, he should at least be very likeable or move the plot forward.

His parents come from a poor, uneducated background and you’re surprised they fell for a predatory clause in a loan shark’s contract specifically designed to take advantage of people like them? If the plot complexity doesn’t satisfy you, just drop the show. 🤷‍♀️

Well that’s the story, dude got his dream crushed by external circumstances, which is as good a backstory as any other. I don’t know what your comment means to be honest.

Err… I think the plot says because he got trapped into becoming a loan’s shark lackey to pay back his parents’ debt. I’m starting to doubt you’ve watched more than half of the first episode…

He was good enough to make the national team, but his coach and the other jury members didn’t vote him in along with the rich guy because they don’t get along and might have created trouble if in the same team. They had to pick one and went for the guy whose dad can fund the association. The coach said so to Jack, which is why he’s so bitter about it.

Perth faced hardships with each of his past acting partners so far, I hope dude finally catches a break (if the SantaEarth shippers allow it) and this project gives him and Santa a good opportunity to show their skills off (if the tanking quality of GMMTV series allows it). Seeing them have fun in those random videos they film heals my heart already.
