11 years, 1 month and 18 days!!! In my country "Poppy" is still a minor... At what age in Thailand that a person…
They can do those roles at 15, but that hasn't been a thing for a while, really. Early BL had very sexual scenes with kids that age, and it was really uncomfortable. I will never be able to wash the horrifying image of little baby Ohm (Bad Buddy, He's Coming to Me, etc) at 15, all decked out in his dorky braces, straight up sexually assaulting his future boyfriend in his first BL. It was surreal.

The age gap is definitely weirding me out here. I was so relieved when I saw the first guy, because I was like, oh, he's attractive and doesn't look 12. He's an actual adult. Then I looked at the other actor's profile... But I don't know, the laws with these things (filming with younger people, not talking about age of consent) have varied greatly over the years. I guess I'm not sure where I stand on that, since it's ethnocentric to act like 18 is the age of an adult, when that's actually a minor in other countries, yet we have 18-year-olds doing things much more graphic in our media in the US. But still, it's hard not to be put off. I know it's not real, but when actors are grown, it feels less likely that they're being exploited. They're old enough to know what they're getting into and can make an informed decision at 27. Not so sure about 16. x_x

EDIT: I just realized all of the graphic shows with very young boys were done by the same director, including the one I described above. Man, I don't wanna jump to conclusions, but his consistent choice to cast very young people in VERY sexual roles is creeping me out a bit.

Yeeeeeeeesssssssss, I thought the exact same thing. It looks so sleek and exciting, and I just want that for BL. There are so many exciting shows and movies that have m/f romance in them, even when they aren't about romance. I want the production value and story quality those shows get.

Can someone explain to me why Joss calls Gawain as Fluke?
We call him Gawin because Fluke is a very common nickname, and there are like four other known BL actors who go by Fluke. So instead of using his nickname, it's a rare case where we differentiate by calling him by his actual name, as it isn't as long and complicated as many Thai names are (hence the very common usage of nicknames in their culture). But those in his life are likely to call him by his nickname, as nicknames are more commonly used just in general.

Yeah, I'm really excited that we're finally getting vampire shows in BL, but I don't want slice-of-life with a vampire or low-key fluff. I also don't want rushed and miserable like one of those titles. I want something that fully embraces the vampire genre. I'm really, really hoping both My Golden Blood and Revamp can deliver. Even if there are some cheesy moments with the vampire stuff, I'm all in. Just give me blood drinking, strong vampire lore, action and sensuality with a happy ending.

Plus, if these two do well, more vampire stuff might be made. And if that happens, we could start getting more supernatural stuff in general, which would be fantastic. There are so many untapped literary themes and creatures.

It is very, very strange, but for people who like a darker, more sexual story, I could see them potentially enjoying it. Definitely not traditional in the vampire angle though.

Wait, how do we know it's bisexual? Is that based on the webtoon or did you see an indication elsewhere? I would love for more m/f to include one or both being bisexual. If he is bi, I really hope they don't remove that, even if it's just a passing comment. We need way more bisexual rep, damn it.

Only 1Q left... Can we expect it to air in September?
The only available slots in September are Sunday and Thursday. I'm guessing it'll take over the Mon-Tues slot in October.

Title Leap Day
I'm not sure why people are upset that you said this. I don't hate fluffy BL, but most BL is either light romance,…
Their entire roster of actors is in Zomvivor. Zee and NuNew weren't specially selected, and all of the popular ships from Domundi are in the show. There's been no indication that there are any m/m pairings featured. In fact, none of the actors who are typically paired together were even standing next to each other in promotions. It felt very deliberate, like they didn't want to give false hope. When they did a little documentary about the making of it, not a single pair interviewed together. Which doesn't mean there's NO way at all, it just indicates that we can't assume based purely on the cast, and there haven't been any implications of m/m from the start.

I have a list of action/horror/mafia, etc. BLs, which you can see if you check my profile. I have that one listed because I'm really hoping there is some m/m, as zombie stuff NEVER has m/m pairings with one fairly recent but brief exception. I was so excited when Zomvivor was announced at the expo, because I assumed that, like all their other shows, it'd have m/m, and I would be thrilled to have a zombie show with gay characters (who actually get a romance) in it. But after a while, it started to seem like that wouldn't be the case. It's the only show they have where nothing is even hinted between the male actors, with only a m/f couple being indicated.

And let me say, I HOPE that is incorrect. I hope it ends up being gay. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up, as it seems unlikely. If it does turn out to have any m/m, I will happily stand corrected, and my faith in Domundi will be renewed. I saw potential for f/f as well, and I'd love to get some of that, but you have to understand the marketing angle here. Domundi isn't the only company to do it. There's something about more exciting plots that makes companies want to be more "accessible," meaning made for straight-preferring viewers. However, Remember 15 was also in that vein, and there were two small queer couples on the side in that. Either way, I do really, really hope there's mm and ff, but there are many things indicating that that might not be the case.

If it IS queer in any sense, though, I'll laugh my ass off at the aggressive homophobes in the comments shouting that it isn't BL and BL fans need to shut up, etc. It would make more sense for it to be m/m, which is why it's been bothering me that they haven't indicated as much. But let's wait for the official trailer (hopefully soon). It could be they were testing the waters for potential m/m for now. Maybe something will change my perspective. Then we can pop over and watch the homophobes squirm, lol.

But yeah, from my essay here, you can probably gauge that I have a lot of thoughts and feelings on the matter, haha.

They did mention that not all of the shows in the 2024 line will air in 2024, but I understand your frustration.
My frustration isn't with the fact that some of the shows will air in 2025. I was well aware of that as they'd mentioned it at the start of their expo, which I watched live. I'm generally on top of the scheduling and time lines for GMMTV shows. The thing is, even if they'd been right on time, they wouldn't have been able to fit all of the shows they announced in 2024, when they still had shows left to air from the previous year. So I assumed, or rather hoped, that they'd be more stringent with the time that they had, given the sheer amount of shows they had to handle.

My frustration is with the ongoing lack of proper scheduling and met deadlines. It's clear they weren't prepared for this time period, as we have four reruns rather than new shows because they couldn't finish any of their projects in time. I think what makes it extra frustrating for me is that I run various lists for fans regarding updates and when things are coming out, so I have to watch all of this slowly unfold and can't just forget about it until GMMTV gets their act together.

Here's hoping we start to see some positive change, but the loss of several slots for multiple months is a hit to what can and will be released in a timely manner, unfortunately.

Exactly. Announcing so many new dramas was a bad move. Like they literally didn't release dramas announced in…
Right? This isn't a new company. There shouldn't be THIS many mistakes and poor choices at this point. Or maybe the Thai entertainment industry is just much, much more complicated than the Western one. Though if that's the case, productions in Thailand must be a nightmare, because things are pretty insane over here.

I agree, but I don't think they will be able to announce many shows for 2025 this year, since there will be at…
I mean, what you're saying is logical, but it isn't reflective of the company, unfortunately. I feel like they will announce a lot of shows. GMMTV loves to bite off more than it can chew. But if they only go for around 20-24, I think this is still salvageable. Less so if they go for another 30+. However, I believe they'll do what they've done before, where in order to fill in some of the spots, pilot trailers for some of the projects announced quite a while back will be shown. Like a second pilot, typically. They haven't announced less than 22 projects in like four years, and that number has only been climbing.

I'd like for your guess to be correct, but since they're splitting the event into two parts again, it feels like at least 12 new shows need to be announced in each section to merit the amount of time. However, this is still a new format, so maybe they'll find another way to handle it. But I suppose they could do two older trailers or acquired projects, then ten new shows or so. Maybe they could pull off a few less. Or maybe some of them will be movies, so as not to take up more slots. *shrugs*

Honestly, since there are 20 shows left to air, and they could potentially air at least 12 more this year if they don't do anymore freaking reruns (or 13 if we factor in the potentially smaller episode count for Enigma 2), they could make it work with seven or eight more shows airing, even if they go for 20 new ones too. But that's in a very idealized world, and so far they haven't pulled it off.

Oh... I forgot about Perfect10 Liners, though. That'll likely get a two day slot given its length, but that'd still take up a good four months, so that "12 to 13" possibility, which was already kinda slim, is basically impossible assuming Perfect10 Liners airs this year, which it likely will. Sorry this is all over the place. I'm loopy on sleep medication and instead of sleeping, I'm thinking out loud in the comments section. Either way, I just wish they'd get their act together.
On Peaceful Property Aug 5, 2024
GMMTV's scheduling is such a mess right now. I don't know what the deal is, but this is some of the worst I've seen. They always struggle with deadlines and airing choices, but come on. Four out of seven days are reruns? Why not give Summer Nights Monday AND Tuesday so that they'll have another slot open sooner. At this rate I don't trust that any of the reruns will actually have a new show replace them. It's so frustrating to see, because GMMTV keeps announcing a ton of shows, but they struggle to follow through. Now that splitting the expo into two periods is becoming their norm, it seems, I feel like they're gonna struggle even more. The 2024 line up is the most shows they've ever announced, but even before that, they struggled to get everything out. And it's not that there isn't time. If they managed their time better, this wouldn't keep happening.

Sorry, just had to come on here and rant to other people who likely understand my frustration. And I understand that these things are complicated. I've worked in the entertainment industry, albeit western, and I get how things go. But GMMTV is an established company that shouldn't have THIS many problems. Licensing, scheduling, deadlines, etc. Now and again is one thing, but it feels like an inevitability at this point. I hope when new shows finally start airing, they're fantastic, given all of the extra time they had to be completed.

wait. is this really a bl ? 🧐 I thought Ohm said he will not play anymore BLs for a while after Bad Buddy
This is a really, REALLY common issue in the BL community, where a little fan will see a rumor, a mistranslation, or an actual statement that they just decide to interpret as something that it isn't, and they'll leave a comment about it, and suddenly everyone is like, "This comment is fact." They then spread rumors like wild fire. A way to avoid this in the future is to remember that most of those guys who allegedly said they'd never do BL again, or they'd take a break from it, or they'd only do a BL with a certain person, etc.? Never actually said that. I've only seen one actor flat out say he'd never do it again, and he's pretty obscure just in general. Oh, and one Filipino actor, also fairly obscure.

I know it's tough for non-Thai speakers to get information outside of random comments, but take everything you read with a grain of salt. People can be delusional, and they create a fantasy in their heads that they state as fact. At the end of the day, these are actors, and they'll take jobs based on interest. For example, a lot of BL actors are tired of the same fluff and lack of plot in a large portion of BL (and honestly, same!), so they aren't interested in the low effort, money-grab type stuff. Fans will see that, insist they've turned their back on BL, then start having violent spasms when the guy appears in a more interesting BL later, screeching about how he said he'd never be in BL again. (No hate to you on any of this, just explaining to you why other people might seem annoyed by these comments. We get them all the time, and it's weird to me how people all seem to see the rumor posts but never the posts telling people to stop buying into rumors. If an actor is in an upcoming BL, clearly he didn't say he'd never be in a BL again, simple as that.)

Seriously, I wish people would just grow up. There are way too many children in the comments here. It is possible to have an opinion without collapsing into a screaming temper tantrum like a toddler. With maturity, you learn how to conduct yourself in discourse, but so many of these commenters are either physically teenagers, or mentally teenagers. Please save it for your blog, kids. These comments are embarrassing and annoying.

I would include "be my favorite" after all it touches on the theme of time travel, I would also include "love…
Thank you for your suggestions, but I don't include things that are basically slice-of-life with some supernatural elements. Sometimes I second guess these choices, but ultimately the show has to have moments that are thrilling for non-sexual reasons, so major fights (physical altercations for plot purposes), chase scenes, genuinely creepy horror (rather than just a ghost boyfriend), thriller elements, serious mystery, etc. It's why Something in My Room is listed and not Low Frequency, or Triage but not Be My Favorite. Even He's Coming to Me is only listed for the murder mystery, not the ghost element. Many reincarnation, time travel, or time magic plots in BL are basically just slice-of-life, in my opinion. This list would be a lot longer if any element of the supernatural were enough, but my goal here is more to list things that are harder to find. Action and horror mostly, rather than just anything that isn't explicitly a slice-of-life drama or comedy.

However, you can probably gauge by some of what I have listed that that's been a tricky line for me. Like Dear Doctor I'm Coming for Your Soul has a strong death theme, but ultimately it's more about the human condition and fear of death than anything, so I didn't include it. I'm not sure if that's right or not. But maybe a solution would be to make a second list for BL that's just for any supernatural shows, since it's been hard to pinpoint what fits here and what doesn't. I'm basing it on my personal yearning for more exhilarating shows, since many of the BL shows with magic and such don't have very exciting plots.

That being said, I have been debating adding Love for Love's Sake because it does have some higher stakes here and there. The themes are mild compared to some other shows, but like some of the other low intensity options, it does have its moments. Having another person suggest it, I'll go ahead and add that one.

As for Century of Love, while reincarnation isn't enough to get it on the list, I was waiting for it to finish airing so I could find out if it had any other more exciting or unusual elements, other than them just meeting again and one of them throwing a "no homo" tantrum. If it does have action or more of a thriller angle, I'll add it. EDIT: So I see that "action" has been added to the tags, so I will indeed be adding this one as well. Thanks for giving me a reason to check on it!

Sorry this comment is so long, I'm just trying to explain my reasoning regarding the list, but obviously some of these choices are up for debate. Writing this comment to you has me second guessing some more, and I may remove a few things off of this list. And maybe make that second list, like I said.
