By current Kdrama standards this will be hella bland and my boy will have the personality of a wettowel but I still need it 😭

Overall would you say Thai Version was a success or not?

Out of all responses this was not what I expected, I'm just saying I prefer Meteor Garden for the romance but miss this drama. For me the 2nd couple was better developed there had more depth, scenes, was less rushed, properly build up and had an overall better outcome. They matched he wasn't indifferent either, showed jealousy, took care of her, tried making things right etc. It overall felt more like a playboy x sunshine than this version, which is one of my fave tropes but sadly disappeared over the years. Her crush was cute and realistic. Kavin and Kaning are good too but compared to other versions barley had proper focus. I was even more disappointed with the lack of depth in Kavin.

I'm actually hoping for a Korean version but given how tthey took out the drama nowadays I'm not sure. If it were a Japanese remake I surely wouldn't get my 2nd couple.

Men I really need some drama that either serves actual drama or toxicity. For me this version felt too realistic but looking back I take it back over anything else I tried forcing myself through xD

Something i really hate about Kdrama the past few years is that you've compelling Female Leads (albeit I miss my cuties and the variety too) and then you've some of the blandest wet towels next to them with no growth, no flaws, no personality and usually just some nice guy running after her like a puppy. In this case he's just expressionless and not smiling 24/7 as compared to other MLs, which I usually love as it leaves room for depth and reasonings but it's as if the author didn't even try to make him interesting or mysterious, wanting to delve into his character. Or maybe it's the casting and staring.

This could've served me a good toxic hate/love dynamic like secret did but no. I'm slowly giving up on kdrama, not only was the drama taken out of kdrama the MLs have been boring for years (looking at that guy in Attorney smth). I'm sry I grew up with Meteor Garden, Secret, CoffeePrince and what not. Idk how anyone eats or hyped these leads up.

U forgetting that it was Ren's own fault, she loved him, he didn't then when she was into someone else he made his moves

Whilst overall I preferred Meteor Garden 2018 in terms of romance and 2nd couple, I have to admit that looking at the current drama drought, I miss it. Jesus Christ am I tired of the bland ML era, can we get more dramas like this back. Idc how toxic, I need some flavor and drama.

Yeah maybe I'll wait but I don't think this is for me after seeing clips and your description. Like 24/7 nice, with no flaws or growth. Been waiting for years now but I guess imma have to wait longer for compelling Male Leads again. They're always so bland and for some that aren't just "nice" and "perfect" but realistic men with good development.

I'll give it a try but you kinda ruined my interest, being a dog shouldn't be the only promotion 😭 Really hate perfect MLs like that. Still ty maybe I'll just watch some clips on YT and see first

Oh ... now you kinda lost me here. He sounds like all these recent MLs from WhyHer, Eve which I all dropped 😭Don't need a dog, bland or wholesome ML but a compelling character with personality, growth, flaws, development, issues and depth. Imma try and probably drop it

Romances are great, some of us like ot but it definitely falls flat here due to the ML and liking romance doesn’t make someone childish. Neither is your taste superior or mature bc you don't.

In all honesty the ML is bland, has the personality and depth of a wet towel, the chemistry btw then leads non existent and the actor weak compared in terms of acting compared to the actress. Only watching bc of the FL

Check out every drama released for the past 8 years, bland Male leads x Strong FL is not smth new (even the term is debatable and not as progress one might think)

Naw we barley get power couples, badass heroine (stronf FL) x bland ML without any personality is the most common and overrated.

Idk about the male actor and wether he can pull it off but for the love of god if they tone it down and turn this into another boring Kdrama i'm suing. Looking at @ Love so Beautiful
