She's interesting but kinda disappointed that the ML seems kinda.. bland like most ml nowadays, could've been a power couple or smth abd that the romance is very fast (miss slowburn couples) but well it's only been a few eps. It's interesting

Yeah I've seen it but don't really count it since the acting wasn't good and just Movies, no one has seen. Hm, a lively Naoki wouldn't fit the plot or match (for me he isn't even super cold) but I would love a version where we see more insights and his struggles. Since it's inspired by the decreased author's love story and her husband, they could ask him. Not just the Kotoko's POV.

Me neither and the characters are less compelling, overall the stories are bland (not all by any means). I dropped so much, I think 2012/2013 were Kdrama at it's peak

Secret till this day remains one of the best kdrama i've seen, it's a pity we ain't getting anything like it anymore. Hope Eve will fill the whole.

A change? I haven't seen any in years this actually seems interesting for once compared to the bland romances we've seen nowadays.

Her stares are overdone

This is the first Kdrama in years that's really messy and unpredictable, reminds me of Innocent Man, Secret but more dark and dramatic (and toxic) . I've no idea where it's going, the FL is scary, the ML smitten, imma hope the GL and ML will have a messy romance (but they could've casted s/o cuter for him) we shall see.

As for the savior 2nd ML, his scene feel irrelevant somehow. Idk why so many are rooting for him, maybe the nice guy syndrome? If this is like Secret boy will be messy too.

Where did I prove your point, I said they barley exist which is true and if they are watered down to the point where they dont seem like cold MLs. Would a ML act like the FL here ppl would be writing essays, call him redflag and toxic in the comments or on TT. I've seen that a lot but with a FL, she's girlboss, iconic, the standard, badass. Real cold ML if you actually look around here or others sides get less tolerance especially nowadays.

I don't consider him rude or cold despite some saying he was. He was pretty watered-down "cold" ML, still doing everything ride, flawless, prince- like not rude in any way and compare him to this FL. There're mountains btw them.

As for this I don't think that's true more what dramas or even ppl in rl often expect. A woman isn't supposed to show any flaws , emotions to compete or be acknowledged. That's why I'm not that fond of the whole distinction btw weak and strong FFL. Women themselves are dividing each other and saying oh no she's emotional = weak. I think western feminisms is parlty to blame for that.

Oh I actually prefer Cdrama and Jap nowadays bc they didn't have that weird notion in eyes but fully agree with everything else you've said. I don't even mind rude, grumpy and what not FLs but I miss the variety, half of their actions aren't even badass, girlboss and simply put rude. But ML don't get the same treatment when they act this way

Thats interesting bc I never see that, it used to be that way years ago but nowadays whenever a ML is cold, rude (albeit they don't exist anymore, they even watered-down Love so Beautiful ML down), says smth offensive to the FL, makes mistakes or is flawed, it's considered smth negative other than being bland/perfect. Ppl start writing essays how they're tired of problematic, cold MLs or Jerk MLs. I'd suggest looking at comments under older drama YT or TT or to start reading Webtoons. When it's a FL on the other hand with the same traits or worse, she's badass, strong FL, girlboss (which in my eyes became a problematic label) and it's perceived as smth positive. Look at the hit that was it's okay not to be okay, how highly she was praised for being a toxic nutcase. Would it'd be a ML, it wouldn't.

The point I was trying to make is looking back we are more acceptable towards FL nutcases than ML nutcases. Would she been a ML, he'd get slandered and called out for his terrible, toxic behaviour but here it's considered badass.

You're right thought, what matters is a compelling chara but as I've said, we should give MLs the same freepass.

Would be cool if we got a knew version, the older I get the more I understand Naoki and his subtle way of loving her. Ppl hating on him are probably the ones hyping up any cold, flawed, toxic girlboss FL which is the standard nowadays

I swear it's crazy like I've nothing against controversial FLs bc they're fun to explore and women have variety but we all know would the ML be anything but bland, he'd be getting essays. It's the same with this FL would she be a man, he wouldn't get the freepasses.
