This version has over an hour screentime, 16 eps is the usual format for K-drama, they could've fit that into it if they wanted and given him more depth. They wasted a lot of potential with this version that's for sure.

I'm well aware but that would've added some depth to him (other than losing his first love) and explained his reasoning behind his actions. Can't agree with that, yes earlier it would've been better, which is why I said they rushed this arc but even in EP13 one sentence would've been enough. In meteor garden we only heard his parents fighting, throwing stuff etc. It wasn't that hard to give him a proper background if you ask me but they didn't bother with it and erased it. Saying it's bc they only wanted to focus on Thmye's for x time (in every damn version) sounds silly.

Not sure what you mean, he always told her in every version, they still erased his family issues which explains his character or Kaning being friends with her. There's no way she could've known tbvh. They definitely rushed it into one ep and should've build it up over a few eps. The scene itself didn’t last long and felt a little anticlimatic/unemotional. This could been better but I am just glad they kept it

Hm I still he always had a thing for Kaning, in the Chinese it's explained better by Mona pushing them together and telling Kavin he already has someone else on his heart

You know what's strange how did Kaning know when unlike in other versions she never became friends with Mona? They really should've done this storyline better and built it up instead of rushing it :/

I'm guessing we ain't getting a karaoke scene with Kaning.

And they erased Kavin's family issues which led to him being who he became, I loved how in BOF they delved into that more and explored it properly. There the outcasted brother that he lost due him not being picked as the heir was Mona fiance.

I'm sad we didn’t get jealous Kavin in this version or see him kneel down and scream his heart out but man that rooftop scene will always be iconic whatever version. It should've been a little more emotional and less rished but it's okay

Edit: i just thought of ximen pulling her up by the hand in the staircase bc xiao you was exhausting herself and on the edge of collapsing in the c drama so they wouldn't miss it and didn’t wanna go a head without her... ahhh small details like that

Yeah I'm confused by this but I also see some say the other characters aren't just there to help the main couple like in other versions. That's all they been doing so far

I stopped reading but you clearly haven't watched Meteor Garden 2018 "Lita" was never trash and treated better in that version than, heck even in BOF she came around than here.

In their defence they aren't focusing on the other F3 that much take Kavin for example except that he help the main couple is supposedly a "playboy" (which we see nothing of even in the beginning)
and is the son of ...(sry i forget what his parents do) we know nothing. They have 0 depth.

OMG THERE WAS ACTUALLY SOME DEVELOPMENT BTW KANING AND KAVIN ONLY TOOK 12 EPISODES AND YOU DON'T MISS THE SCENE BY BLINKING

Haven't seen this ep but they are all supposed to be trash asdfghjkl and even Kavin is despite us not seeing it on screen.
