Why are they making Ren shine so much in this version. He's always there, ALWAYS. It's kinda annoying, "omg let's make the audience feel bad for the guy who stringed her along whilst he was in love with someone. boy had his chance". I prefer how the handled his character in Meteor Garden 2018 where he supported the mc but stayed in his line. Sick of seeind all these Ren deserves better, she should've picked him takes. And something I genuinely hate about this version is that we never see the main couple ... as a couple. They wasted so much time on delving into the bullying and life lessons instead of giving us a romantic relationship.
Plus why did they cut the snowstorm moment ah well this version missed a lot of opportunities
the thing i asked myself in every version: does he even like her? especially in meteor garden it didn't look as if he was into her romantically and he stayed being in love with his ex
Kavin told Kaning the whole story in the car, like Thyme told Gorya. I think they used the story telling very…
By all means there are many ppl saying that on Twitter too but sure it's just me. Nina didn't explain anything and said it's fine since they're just there to hype up main couple. It's also fine that they erased Kavin's background which you agree withm I swear some of you are wild and love this version so much ya blind towards the obvious criticism. There was no build up towards it. That's a fact. They also rushed that episode into it. That's a fact. I've seen ppl even call it a filler ep bc how insignificant they made it.
"Thailand is more than that just remaking such a classic drama, they have even taken it upon themselves to add meaning to the character's outfit through colors, metaphors, locations, and dialogue"
That's you interpreting stuff into it and maybe reading too deep into and this version isn't hard to understand either without these "clues". FL stands up to bully, bully takes interest in FL, bully keeps persuading FL, FL falls in love with him, mom meddles, random girl shows up. It all comes down to this. No one gives 2 f's about what color they are wearing. Maybe that energy should've been used in the actual script and editing. We are supposed to see and every location in any remake was meaningful. Lol.
"Furthermore, we are not praising the director for fleshing out side character, except for Mj. If you had read/watch the source material and /or other versions you would know that Mj's.?"
You did it regards everyone when they aren't fleshed out. Not even MJ is in an way, I once even argued that he's more fleshed out in Meteor Garden 2018 than he was here. He had 15 eps of unrequited love, we've seen his emotions, feelings etc- not just an ad. The fact you would even say this is funny.
I get that you all love this version but it's not perfect and yes, as many agree even on social media which you all love so much, Kavin's and Kaning's potential was wasted.

No one's being hard on the series. It's being praised or called the best by a lot but it's fine to voice criticism. It's not perfect. The other versions didn't rush it and had good, significant build up towards that scene. This is the first time from 3 versions (where they ended up together) that I got that feeling. Even the whole cheating storyline from Kanging's ex happened in a blink of a moment. They barley had screentime together and let's not even talk abour Kavin's. A lot looked forward to them had exceptions towards them due to the previous versions. Obviously the main characters the main couple are set in stone and I enjoy them too (albeit it's going in circle) but this genuinely feels like F1 and the cheerleaders.
Sounds like smth we've seen before, we need smth new, i miss old romcom drama like oh my ghost, coffeeshop etc- or revenge drama like secret, incoccent man. I wanna see character development again 😔
Kavin told Kaning the whole story in the car, like Thyme told Gorya. I think they used the story telling very…
There's non leading to that ep. It's starts in ep 12 and ends with ep 13. Before that there wasn't any serious or noteworth development towards it. The episode itself is rushed.
Also not you saying Kavin's background is useless bc he's just a sidechara. This is funny bc y'all always praise it for flashing out the sidecharas and 16 with an hour runtime is a lot of time.

It's okay if you want to praise it based on your opinion (not really a surpise). Many have said there isn't any build up and if you think one eps is enough build up and exploring for that arc it's fine too. As a fan of it, I disagree. They gave the couple nonesense scenrs that they could've used for it.
If only F4 was made with 25 episode like kdrama or into 2 seasons like jdrama..This cramming up of all in one…
So true but 16 eps with over an hour runtime is a lot too, they just didn't use it well. For example the whole bullying storyline, yeah it was a new take but it went on for too long instead of focusing on the other characters and the mc.
Kavin told Kaning the whole story in the car, like Thyme told Gorya. I think they used the story telling very…
There was no build up for it for 12 eps and ep 13 suddenly delved into that storyline. I understand that some of you really love this version but we should accept it flaws and not praise it for smth that's not praiseworthy. They rushed this storyline, there was no proper build up for it and Kavin lacks depth
I felt a little let down by the why they executed it too. I kind of expected them to build it up over 2 eps, considering…
This too but it's an overall issue with F4T tbvh we get told more than we actually see. And honestly I agree it's weird they cut it? It added so much to him but I guess here he's just a player just bc he feels like it. I mean that's fine too but a letdown.

There's zero depth except the whole Mona story. It was essential to Kavin's character as a whole for them to erase that is just weird. It wouldn't have confused anyone except give us a better understanding about Kavin and his actions. They made up the whole fake GF storyline out of no where did thst confused anyone? No. It added to it.
I disagree, we didn't get what we wanted and they wasted the potential of not only Kavin but his relationship Kaning by rushing them. They pressed it into one episode without any build up
If you don't care about his character and personal issues that made him who he was, fair enough but he's my fave character in every version, I do. A 2 second scene would've been enough.
